従来例では、S/N(A6):S/N(A1)=2500/50:2500/50=1:1
実施例では、S/N(A6):S/N(A1)=3200/40:1200/60=4:1
この場合、一見すると、実施例の方がエリアの遠い近いによりS/N比が変わるのでバランスが悪くなっているように思われるがそうではない。実際の運用では、細分割エリアA6と細分割エリアA1においても同じ物体が進入するのが一般的であり、細分割エリアA1は細分割エリアA6よりも近い場所にあるので、同じ物体でも細分割エリアA1の方が細分割エリアA6よりも出てくる信号量が大きい。仮にその信号量の差が4倍であった場合、上記のバランスは非常に良好なものになる。

Claims (4)
- 複数の細分割エリアをそれぞれ有する送信エリアと受信エリアとにより検出エリアが形成され、この検出エリア内の物体を検出する能動型物体検出センサであって、
前記送信エリアへ物体検出用の検知線を送出する複数の送信素子、および前記受信エリアから物体で反射した前記検知線を受信する複数の受信素子と、
前記送信素子および受信素子の前方にそれぞれ配置されて、前記複数の細分割エリアに分割するために検知線の角度を複数に変更する光学可変面をもつ分割光学片を複数有する送信側および受信側の分割光学体とを備え、
前記分割光学片における複数の光学可変面のうち、センサから距離が遠い方の細分割エリアを形成する第1光学可変面の面積に対する、距離が近い方の細分割エリアを形成する第2光学可変面の面積の面積比率が、送信側および受信側でそれぞれ相異なるように設定されている、能動型物体検出センサ。 - 請求項1において、
前記送信側で、前記第1光学可変面の面積が前記第2光学可変面よりも大きくなるような第1光学可変面に対する第2光学可変面の面積比率に設定され、かつ、前記受信側で、第1光学可変面の面積を第2光学可変面よりも小さくなるような第1光学可変面に対する第2光学可変面の面積比率に設定されるとともに、前記受信側における前記第1光学可変面に対する前記第2光学可変面の光学可変面の面積比率が、前記送信側における前記第1光学可変面に対する前記第2光学可変面の面積比率よりも大きくなるように設定されている、能動型物体検出センサ。 - 請求項1において、
前記送信側の第1光学可変面に対する第2光学可変面の面積比率と、前記受信側の第1光学可変面に対する第2光学可変面の面積比率とが、互いに相反した比率に近づくように設定されている、能動型物体検出センサ。 - 請求項1において、
前記分割光学体は、検知線の角度を複数に変更するプリズム面をもつプリズムである、能動型物体検出センサ。
