Description
第1シャフトと、該第1シャフトに連結される第2シャフトとを備える分割式のプロペラシャフトであって、前記第1シャフトはシャフト本体部と、該シャフト本体部の軸方向において同軸で並びかつ該シャフト本体部よりも小径である細軸部とを備え、該プロペラシャフトは、前記細軸部の一端部に設けられた内側部材が前記第2シャフトの一端部に設けられた外側部材の内部に挿入されているスライド型ジョイントと、前記細軸部の周囲に設けられたベアリングとを備える、プロペラシャフトにおいて、
前記細軸部の外周面と前記ベアリングの内周面との間に配置されて前記ベアリングが嵌合されている環状部材と、
前記細軸部のうち前記環状部材よりも前記シャフト本体部側の位置に、前記環状部材の前記シャフト本体部側への軸方向動きを妨げるように設けられた第1ストッパ部と
を備え
前記ベアリングが嵌合されている前記環状部材の外周面は、前記環状部材よりも前記シャフト本体部側に延在する前記細軸部の第1軸部よりも大きな径を有する、

が提供される。
本発明の一実施形態に係るプロペラシャフト10は、図1に示されている。
プロペラシャフト10は、車両の下部に設けられている。この車両は、後輪駆動で、車両前部に縦置きの4気筒ガソリンエンジンを搭載した普通自動車として構成されている。しかし、本発明に係るプロペラシャフトは四輪駆動車に適用することもでき、本発明は適用される車両の駆動方式、エンジン構成等を限定しない。
フロントプロペラシャフト12の連結軸部12Sの軸部12cは、その後端部においてスプライン外歯を有している。連結軸部12Sのスプライン外歯は、スパイダ34のスプライン内歯と嵌合し、それによりフロントプロペラシャフトにスパイダ34が連結される。

Claims (5)
- 第1シャフトと、該第1シャフトに連結される第2シャフトとを備える分割式のプロペラシャフトであって、前記第1シャフトはシャフト本体部と、該シャフト本体部の軸方向において同軸で並びかつ該シャフト本体部よりも小径である細軸部とを備え、該プロペラシャフトは、前記細軸部の一端部に設けられた内側部材が前記第2シャフトの一端部に設けられた外側部材の内部に挿入されているスライド型ジョイントと、前記細軸部の周囲に設けられたベアリングとを備える、プロペラシャフトにおいて、
前記細軸部の外周面と前記ベアリングの内周面との間に配置されて前記ベアリングが嵌合されている環状部材を備え、
前記環状部材の外周面は、前記環状部材よりも前記シャフト本体部側に延在する前記細軸部の第1軸部よりも大きな径を有し、
前記環状部材は前記シャフト本体部側への軸方向動きを妨げられており、
前記環状部材の前記外周面は、前記外側部材の筒状部の内周面の最小径部よりも小さな外径を有するとともに、車両の衝突時に前記外側部材が前記ベアリングに衝突して、ベアリングが前記環状部材から外れて前記シャフト本体部側へ移動可能となる、

請求項1または2に記載のプロペラシャフト。 - 前記ベアリングの前記シャフト本体部側への軸方向動きを妨げるように前記環状部材の前記シャフト本体部側に配置される第2ストッパ部をさらに備え、該第2ストッパ部は前記第1ストッパ部よりも脆弱である、
請求項3に記載のプロペラシャフト。 - 前記ベアリングの前記第2シャフト側への軸方向動きを妨げるように前記環状部材の前記第2シャフト側に配置される第3ストッパ部をさらに備え、
該第3ストッパ部は、前記外側部材の筒状部の内周面の最小径部よりも小さな最大外径を有する、
請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のプロペラシャフト。
