Description
本願は、本明細書において参考例として援用する、2008年4月2日に出願された先願の米国特許出願第12/061,463号に基づく優先権を主張するものである。
本願は、本発明の出願人に譲渡されている次の継続中の米国特許出願にそれぞれ関連するものである。
a.「マルチタッチ触感のタッチパネルアクチュエータ機構のための方法および装置」を発明の名称とし、2007年6月26日に出願された米国特許出願第11/823,192号、代理人整理番号IMM255(1057.P0002US);
b.「マルチタッチ触覚のタッチパネルアクチュエータ機構のための方法および装置」を発明の名称とし、2007年6月26日に出願された米国特許出願第11/823,258号、代理人整理番号IMM272(1057.P0003US);
c.「変形可能な触覚表面(haptic surfaces)を使用して特徴部の位置を固定されたレリーフタッチスクリーンに提供するための方法および装置」を発明の名称とし、2007年11月21日に出願された米国特許出願第11/943,862号、代理人整理番号IMM290(1057.P0014US)
本発明の実施形態は、電子インターフェースデバイスの分野に関する。より詳細には、本発明の実施形態は、触覚(haptic)フィードバックを行うインターフェースデバイスに関する。
コンピュータに基づくシステム、装置、現金自動支払機、POSターミナルおよび同等物が近年、より普及するにつれて、人とマシンのインターフェースを使用することが容易であることが、次第に重要となってきている。従来のタッチセンサパネルは、平滑で平坦な表面を通常有しており、指および/または物体が接触しているロケーションを検出するためのセンサ、例えば容量センサおよび/または圧力センサを使用している。例えばユーザーはボタンの押し下げをエミュレートするために、一般に指の先端でタッチスクリーンのある領域を押圧し、および/またはディスプレイデバイス上のパネルの後方にディスプレイされたグラフィックに従い、パネル上で自分の指を移動する。
以下に記載する詳細な説明および本発明の種々の実施形態の添付図面から、本発明の実施形態について、より完全に理解できるが、これら詳細な説明および添付図面は、本発明を特定の実施形態だけに限定すると見なすべきでなく、これら説明および図面は、単に説明のためのものであり、かつ発明の理解を容易にするためのものである。
以下、可撓性表面に触覚表面テキスチャーを提供するための方法、システムおよび装置に関連し、本発明の実施例について説明する。
Claims (3)
- 触感デバイスであって、
所定のパターンの開口部を有する透明グリルであって、前記開口部は前記透明グリルを貫通しており、前記透明グリルは入力を感知することができるタッチ・センシティブ表面を含む前記透明グリルと、
前記透明グリルに結合されており、前記感知された入力と前記所定のパターンの開口部に従い、形状を部分的に変えるように構成された変形可能な材料の触覚層と、
前記変形可能な材料の触覚層に結合されており、前記感知された入力に基づく作動信号を受信し前記透明グリルに従い前記変形可能な材料の触覚層を制御し、少なくとも1つの前記開口部を通して前記変形可能な材料の触覚層の部分を押出すことにより触覚力フィードバックを行うように構成された透明基板と、
前記触感デバイスの利用者によって目視可能なイメージを表示するよう構成されたディスプレイと、
を備え、
前記変形可能な材料の触覚層は、電気アクティブなポリマーからなる複数の可撓性触覚アクチュエータを含み、前記変形可能な材料は透明である、
触感デバイス。 - 前記透明グリルの表面トポグラフィは、前記作動信号に応答し、第1表面特性から第2表面特性に変化できる、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記透明グリルの前記表面トポグラフィは、第1表面特性から第2表面特性に変化でき、更に前記透明グリルの前記表面トポグラフィを平滑なテキスチャーから粗いテキスチャーに変えることができる、請求項2に記載のデバイス。
