Description
本願は2012年1月11日に出願された米国仮特許願61/585442「ポリオレフィンコア(芯層)を備えた多重層化シュリンクフィルム」の優先権を主張する。
本発明は、ハロゲンを含まない多重層化シュリンク(収縮)フィルムに関する。特に本発明は、電池のごとき柱状物品を包装するのに有用である無ハロゲン多重層化シュリンクフィルムに関する。
シュリンクフィルムは物品を包装するのに長年使用されてきた。シュリンクフィルムは十分に収縮して滑らかで安定した被覆を提供できなければならない。以前には、シュリンクフィルムはポリオレフィンおよびポリオレフィンブレンドであり、食品等の物品の保護と保存のために食品および包装業界で幅広く使用されている。ポリオレフィンとポリオレフィンフィルムブレンドの1つの問題はフィルム上に印刷することが困難なことである。綺麗に印刷するためには、フィルムは印刷を許容する表面を提供しなければならない。さらに、フィルムは十分な引張弾性率を有し、過酷な印刷処理条件に耐えることができなければならない。多くのポリオレフィンシュリンクフィルムはグラビア印刷に耐えるだけの引張弾性率を有していない。
本発明は、多重層シュリンクフィルムと、それから製造されるラベルとを提供する。これらフィルムとラベルは、30%を超える率で収縮でき、限定はしないが電池等の様々な物品の包装に適している。
コア層は、(A)エチレンまたはプリピレンとアルファ−オレフィンのコポリマーを含んだアルファ−オレフィンコポリマーと、(B)ポリオレフィンコポリマーと、(C)オレフィンホモポリマーとのブレンドを含む。1実施例では、そのブレンドは35重量%未満のアルファ−オレフィンコポリマーと、少なくとも約60重量%のポリオレフィンコポリマーと、差部分のオレフィンホモポリマーとを含む。本発明人は、アルファ−オレフィンコポリマーがコア層の40重量%未満であっても優れた収縮物性が獲得できることを発見している。
前述したように、熱収縮性である多重層ヒートシュリンクフィルムは少なくとも1つの結合層を含むことができる。多重層フィルムは、コア層と直に接するスキン層(例:図1)、スキン層とコア層との間の結合層、またはそれぞれのスキン層とコア層との間の結合層(例:図2)を有することができる。これら結合層はフィルム層の接着を改善するように機能する。
熱収縮性であるフィルムは、フィルムの製造性および処理性、並びに/又は、フィルムの利用性を高めるために1以上の添加剤を含むことができる。単層フィルムまたは多重層フィルムの層のそれぞれは少なくとも1種の添加剤を含むことができる。適した添加剤には、限定はしないが、粘着防止剤、処理補助剤、核形成剤、充填剤、顔料および染色剤を含む着色剤、静電防止剤、酸化防止剤、滑動剤、紫外線安定剤、並びに、それらの2以上の混合物が存在する。添加剤は、フィルムまたはフィルム層にフィルムのポリマーの成分として導入でき、そこで添加剤は、例えば、ポリマーと核形成剤のブレンドである核形成ポリプロピレンポリマー、又は、粘着防止剤(antiblocking agents)および処理促進剤(processing aids)のごとき添加剤ならびにキャリア樹脂を含んだ添加剤濃縮物としてフィルムポリマーとブレンドされる。スキン層とコア層は、フィルムの剛性と透明性を高めるために核形成剤を含むことができる。スキン層は、製造性および処理性を高めるように、粘着防止剤、処理促進剤および静電気防止剤を含む表面活性添加剤を含むことができる。核形成剤は一般的に、上述した核形成ポリプロピレンフィルムポリマーのごときフィルムポリマーの成分である。有用な粘着防止剤には、A.シャルマンから入手できる粘着防止濃縮物であるAMPACET409160(SEABLOCK−4)およびABPP05−SCが存在する。有用な処理促進剤は、処理補助剤濃縮物AMPACRT401198を含む。それぞれの添加剤はフィルムまたはフィルムの層に約0.005重量%から約20重量%、または約0.01重量%から約15重量%、または約0.02重量%から約10重量%存在することができる。
オプションで、シュリンクフィルムは、フィルムの外面(例:スキン層の1つの外面)に提供される接着剤を含むことができる。有用な感圧接着剤(PSA)の説明は、ウィリ−インターサイエンスパブリッシャ出版(ニューヨーク、1988年)のポリマー科学/工学百科事典、第13巻で見つけることができる。有用なPSAの追加説明はインターサイエンスパブリッシャ出版(ニューヨーク、1964年)のポリマー科学技術、第1巻で見つけることができる。アクリル系PSA、ゴム系PSAおよびシリコン系PSAを含んだ従来のPSAが有用である。このPSAは溶剤系または水系の接着剤である。ホットメルト接着剤でも使用できる。1実施例では、このPSAはアクリルエマルジョン接着剤を含んでいる。
多重層シュリンクフィルムは、コア層と、コア層の両面を被覆する外側スキン層とを含む。このシュリンクフィルムは、スキン層間に配置される1以上の結合層を含むことができる。このシュリンクフィルムは特定の目的または意図する使用形態のために、スキン層とコア層との間に配置された所望の他の層を含むことができる。さらに、シュリンクフィルムは、物品とシュリンクフィルムとの間の接着力を向上させるためにシュリンクフィルムの外面(例:スキン層の外側面)に接着層を含むことができる。

Claims (17)
- 上面および下面を有するコア層と、
前記コア層の上面に配置された第1スキン層と、
前記コア層の下面に配置された第2スキン層と、
を備えた熱収縮性フィルムであって、
前記コア層は、
(A) エチレンまたはプロピレンとアルファ−オレフィンのコポリマーを含んだ5〜35重量%のアルファ−オレフィンコポリマーと、
(B) 60〜90重量%のポリオレフィンコポリマーと、
(C) 0.1〜30重量%のオレフィンホモポリマーと
のブレンドを含み、ここで、前記アルファ−オレフィンコポリマー(A)、前記ポリオレフィンコポリマー(B)及び前記オレフィンホモポリマー(C)の合計が100重量%となるものであり、
前記第1及び第2のスキン層は、グリコール改質ポリエステルを含んでおり、
当該熱収縮性フィルムは、ASTM D1204により270°F(132.2℃)にて測定したときの収縮率が30%以上である、ことを特徴とする熱収縮性フィルム。 - 前記コア層は、15〜30重量%のアルファ−オレフィンコポリマーを含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記コア層は、20重量%のアルファ−オレフィンコポリマーを含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記アルファ−オレフィンコポリマーは、
(i)エチレンまたはプロピレンと、
(ii)C3−C12のアルファ−オレフィンとのコポリマーである、
ことを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。 - 前記アルファ−オレフィンコポリマーは、
(i)エチレンまたはプロピレンと、
(ii)1−ブテンまたは1−ヘキセンとのコポリマーである、
ことを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。 - 前記ポリオレフィンコポリマーは、エチレンとプロピレンとのコポリマーを含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記ポリオレフィンコポリマーは、3〜10重量%のエチレン成分を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項6記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記コア層は、60〜80重量%の前記ポリオレフィンコポリマーを含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記オレフィンホモポリマーは、エチレンホモポリマー、あるいはプロピレンホモポリマーであることを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記コア層は、1〜30重量%の前記オレフィンホモポリマーを含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記スキン層のうちの一方の外側面には、接着層が設けられている、ことを特徴とする請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記スキン層のうちの少なくとも1つは印刷可能であることを特徴とする請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記コア層と、組み合わされた前記スキン層との厚みの比は、70:30から90:10であることを特徴とする請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記第1スキン層と、前記コア層と、前記第2スキン層の厚みの比は、5〜20:90〜60:20〜5であることを特徴とする請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 前記コア層と、前記スキン層の少なくとも1つとの間に配置された結合層を更に含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1〜14のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性フィルム。
- 請求項1〜15のいずれかに記載の多重層熱収縮性フィルムで包装されている物品。
- 当該物品が電池である、請求項16に記載の物品。
