Description
M’は、MnaMbであり、
Mは、Ni、Ti、Co、Al、Cu、Fe、Mg、B、Cr、Zr、Zn及び第2周期の遷移金属からなる群から選択される1つ以上であり、
Aは、PO4、BO3、CO3、F及びNO3のアニオンからなる群から選択される1つ以上であり、
0<x<1、0<y≦0.02、0<y’≦0.02、0.5≦a≦1.0、0≦b≦0.5、a+b=1である。
必須の遷移金属としてMnを含み、層状結晶構造を有するリチウムマンガン系酸化物として、金属に対するリチウムの比が1:1.5である0.5Li2MnO3・0.5Li(Mn0.35Ni 0.65 )O2と、金属に対するリチウムの比が1:1.25である0.25Li2MnO3・0.75Li(Mn0.40Ni 0.60 )O2とを重量比1:1で混合して、正極活物質を製造した。
前記正極活物質の混合物の代わりに、金属に対するリチウムの比が1:1.5である0.5Li2MnO3・0.5Li(Mn0.35Ni 0.65 )O2と、金属に対するリチウムの比が1:1.25である0.25Li2MnO3・0.75Li(Mn0.40Ni 0.60 )O2とを重量比7:3で混合して正極活物質を製造したこと以外は、電池の製造方法において前記実施例1と同様の方法でコイン型または単層のパウチ型電池を作製した。
前記正極活物質の混合物の代わりに、Li2MnO3相が存在しないLi(Mn0.33Ni 0.66 )O 2 を単独で使用して正極活物質を製造したこと以外は、電池の製造方法において前記実施例1と同様の方法でコイン型または単層のパウチ型電池を作製した。
前記正極活物質の混合物の代わりに、金属に対するリチウムの比が1:1.5である0.5Li2MnO3・0.5Li(Mn0.35Ni 0.65 )O2のリチウムマンガン系酸化物を単独で使用して正極活物質を製造したこと以外は、電池の製造方法において前記実施例1と同様の方法でコイン型または単層のパウチ型電池を作製した。
実施例1、2及び比較例1、2で製造されたコイン型電池を、2.75〜4.65Vの電圧範囲で0.1 C−rateの電流を流して初期容量特性の実験を行い、2.75〜4.4Vの電圧範囲で0.5 C−rateの電流を流してrateによる容量特性の実験を行った。このとき、各容量特性を下記の表1に示す。
実施例1、2及び比較例2で製造された単層のパウチ型電池を、3.0〜4.35Vの電圧範囲で10秒pulseの条件で出力特性の実験を行い、このとき、SOC20での各出力特性を表2に示す。
実施例1、2及び比較例2で製造された単層のパウチ型電池を、3.0〜4.35Vの電圧範囲で45度で0.5/1.0 C−rateの電流を流して寿命特性の実験を行い、このとき、寿命特性を300サイクル行った後、初期容量に対する維持率で評価し、下記の表3に示す。

- 第1電極活物質及び第2電極活物質を含み、
前記第1電極活物質及び第2電極活物質は、それぞれ下記化学式(1)で表される組成を有し、
前記第1電極活物質は、リチウム以外の金属に対するリチウムの比が1.4以上〜1.7以下の範囲内であり、
前記第2電極活物質は、リチウム以外の金属に対するリチウムの比が1.2以上〜1.4未満の範囲内であることを特徴とする、電極活物質:
(1−x)LiM’O2−yAy−xLi2MnO3−y’Ay’ 化学式(1)
上記式中、
M’は、MnaMbであり、
Mは、Ni、Ti、Co、Al、Cu、Fe、Mg、B、Cr、Zr、Zn及び第2周期の遷移金属からなる群から選択される1つ以上であり、

- 前記第1電極活物質は、球状、楕円状、紡錘状、鱗片状、繊維状、棒状、コア−シェル型、または非定形の形状であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極活物質。
- 前記第2電極活物質は、球状、楕円状、紡錘状、鱗片状、繊維状、棒状、コア−シェル型、または非定形の形状であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極活物質。
- 前記第1電極活物質は、表面に存在する導電性コーティング層をさらに含み、前記導電性コーティング層は、厚さが0.1nm以上〜100nm以下の範囲内であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極活物質。
- 前記第2電極活物質は、表面に存在する導電性コーティング層をさらに含み、前記導電性コーティング層は、厚さが0.1nm以上〜100nm以下の範囲内であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極活物質。
- 前記第1電極活物質は、1次粒子からなる2次粒子であり、前記2次粒子は、空隙度が1%以上〜50%以下の範囲内であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極活物質。
- 前記第2電極活物質は、1次粒子からなる2次粒子であり、前記2次粒子は、空隙度が1%以上〜50%以下の範囲内であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極活物質。
- 前記導電性コーティング層は、1つ以上の導電性粒子を含むことを特徴とする、請求項11または12に記載の電極活物質。
- 前記導電性コーティング層は、導電性カーボンブラックを含んでいることを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の電極活物質。
- 前記導電性カーボンブラックは、アセチレンブラック、ケチェンブラック、ファーネスブラック、オイル−ファーネスブラック、コロンビアカーボン、チャンネルブラック、ランプブラック、サーマルブラックからなる群から選択された1つ以上であることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の電極活物質。
- 請求項1に記載の電極活物質を正極活物質として含むことを特徴とする、リチウム二次電池。
- 前記リチウム二次電池は、負極活物質として、炭素系物質及び/又はSiを含むことを特徴とする、請求項18に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記リチウム二次電池は、リチウムイオン電池、リチウムイオンポリマー電池、リチウムポリマー電池からなる群から選択された1つであることを特徴とする、請求項18に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 請求項18に記載のリチウム二次電池を含むことを特徴とする、電池パック。
- 請求項21に記載の電池パックをエネルギー源として使用することを特徴とする、デバイス。
