Claims (4)
- 電解質膜の両側に電極が設けられる電解質膜・電極構造体とセパレータとが積層され、一方の電極に対向する前記セパレータには、一方の電極面に沿って一方の反応ガスを流通させる反応ガス流路が形成されるとともに、前記反応ガス流路を囲繞してシール部材が設けられる燃料電池であって、
前記セパレータは、前記反応ガス流路の端部と前記シール部材の該反応ガス流路の端部に対向する内側シール部との間に、平面部位を有するとともに、
前記平面部位には、平板状シールが前記反応ガス流路の前記端部に沿って設けられるとともに、
前記平板状シールは、前記電解質膜・電極構造体の前記セパレータに対向する電極面に当接していることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記シール部材は、前記内側シール部の外側に、前記電解質膜・電極構造体と前記セパレータとの積層方向に突出した凸状シール部を有し、
前記平板状シールは、前記内側シール部と一体成形されるとともに前記凸状シール部の幅寸法よりも大きい幅寸法を有することを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項2記載の燃料電池において、前記シール部材は、前記セパレータの面に沿って平面状を有する平面シール部を有し、
前記凸状シール部は、前記平面シール部から前記積層方向に突出し、
前記内側シール部は、前記平面シール部のうち前記凸状シール部よりも内側の部分を構成し、
前記平板状シールは、前記内側シール部よりも肉厚に構成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池において、前記電解質膜・電極構造体の外周部に樹脂枠部材が一体に設けられる一方、前記樹脂枠部材の内周端部と前記電解質膜・電極構造体の外周端部とが含浸部位により固定され、
前記セパレータは、前記平板状シールが前記樹脂枠部材と前記電解質膜・電極構造体とを一体に跨ぐように配置され、
前記樹脂枠部材の、積層方向に前記含浸部位とは反対の面は、該含浸部位と重なり合う領域に亘って平坦に構成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
