Description
本発明の負極活物質を用いて、例えば非水系二次電池の負極を作製するには、負極活物質粉末と、炭素粉末などの導電助剤と、バインダーと、適量の有機溶剤を加えて混合しスラリーにしたものを、ロールコート法、ディップコート法、ドクターブレード法、スプレーコート法、カーテンコート法などの方法で集電体上に塗布し、バインダーを乾燥あるいは硬化させることによって作製することができる。
濃度46質量%のHF水溶液7mlと、濃度36質量%のHCl水溶液56mlとの混合溶液を氷浴中で0℃とし、アルゴンガス気流中にてそこへ3.3gの二ケイ化カルシウム(CaSi2)を加えて撹拌した。発泡が完了したのを確認した後に室温まで昇温し、室温でさらに2時間撹拌した後、蒸留水20mlを加えてさらに10分間撹拌した。このとき黄色粉末が浮遊した。
得られたナノシリコン凝集粒子は、D50平均粒子径が約30μmであったが、凝集粒子どうしがさらに凝集して粗大凝集粒子となっていた。そこで、ボールミルを用いて粉砕した。このとき、ナノシリコン凝集粒子1gに対してφ4mmのジルコニアボールを100g用い、70rpmで24時間粉砕した。得られた微細凝集粒子のD50平均粒子径は1.5μmであった。
得られた微細凝集粒子1gに対して、レゾール型フェノール樹脂溶液(固形分58質量%)0.86gを添加(仕込み重量比Si/C=2/1)し、よく撹拌した。これから溶媒を除去した後、減圧下で120℃にて1時間加熱してフェノール樹脂を硬化させ、次いでアルゴンガス中にて900℃で20分間焼成して炭素化した。回収粉末の重量と層状ポリシランの仕込み量とから算出されたSi/C重量比は、4/1であった。
粉砕工程を行わなかったこと、炭素化工程後の粉砕時間を2時間としたこと以外は実施例1と同様にして複合体粒子を調製し、この複合体粒子を用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を得た。粉砕工程で得られた微細凝集粒子のD50平均粒子径は34.0μmであり、調製された複合体粒子のD50平均粒子径は5.0μmであった。
粉砕工程に於ける粉砕時間を24時間としたこと、炭素化工程後の粉砕を行わなかったこと以外は実施例1と同様にして複合体粒子を調製し、この複合体粒子を用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を得た。粉砕工程で得られた微細凝集粒子のD50平均粒子径は1.5μmであり、調製された複合体粒子のD50平均粒子径は42.0μmであった。
粉砕工程に於ける粉砕を行わなかったこと、炭素化工程後の粉砕を行わなかったこと以外は実施例1と同様にして複合体粒子を調製し、この複合体粒子を用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様にしてリチウムイオン二次電池を得た。粉砕工程で得られた微細凝集粒子のD50平均粒子径は32.0μmであり、調製された複合体粒子のD50平均粒子径は41.0μmであった。
実施例1〜3及び比較例1〜3で形成された負極を目視で観察し、表面の平滑性を評価した。結果を表1に示す。表面の平滑性は、均一にムラなく塗布されたものを○、不均一でムラがあったり、凹凸が激しいもの、あるいはクラック等があるものを×と評価した。
実施例1〜3及び比較例1〜3のリチウムイオン二次電池について、電流0.2mAの条件で放電させた際の放電容量を測定し、温度25℃、電流0.2mAの条件で充電した際の充電容量(初期容量)を測定した。初期効率(充電容量/放電容量)を算出した。
Claims (17)
- ケイ素原子で構成された六員環が複数連なった構造をなし基本骨格として組成式(SiH)nで示される層状ポリシランを熱処理することで製造されたナノシリコン凝集粒子と、非晶質の炭素からなり該凝集粒子の少なくとも一部を覆って複合化された炭素層と、よりなる複合体粒子を含み、
該凝集粒子のD50平均粒子径が0.2μm〜30μmの範囲にあり、該複合体粒子のD50平均粒子径が0.5μm〜40μmの範囲にあることを特徴とする負極活物質。 - 前記凝集粒子のD50平均粒子径が1μm以下である請求項1に記載の負極活物質。
- 前記層状ポリシランは、ラマンスペクトルにおいてラマンシフトの341±10cm−1、360±10cm−1、498±10cm−1、638±10cm−1、734±10cm−1にピークが存在する請求項1又は請求項2に記載の負極活物質。
- 前記凝集粒子のナノシリコンは、X線回折測定結果の(111)面の回折ピークの半値幅からシェラーの式より算出される結晶粒径が1〜50nmである請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の負極活物質。
- X線回折測定結果において、前記炭素層を構成する炭素はピークをもたない請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の負極活物質。
- ケイ素と炭素との組成比は重量比でSi/C=2/1〜20/1である請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の負極活物質。
- 前記複合体粒子は、前記非晶質の炭素を含むマトリクスと、該マトリクスに分散した前記凝集粒子と、よりなる複合粒子を含む請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の負極活物質。
- 前記複合粒子は、前記凝集粒子の表面が前記複合粒子から表出することなく前記マトリクス中に内包されている請求項7に記載の負極活物質。
- 前記炭素層の炭素はフェノール樹脂由来の炭素を含む請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の負極活物質。

工程と、
該凝集粒子をD50平均粒子径が30μm以下となるように粉砕して微細凝集粒子とする粉砕工程と、
樹脂溶液と該微細凝集粒子を混合した後に溶媒を除去し、該樹脂を炭素化する炭素化工程と、
前記炭素化工程で得られた複合体粒子を粉砕し、該複合体粒子のD 50 平均粒子径を0.5μm〜40μmの範囲とする工程と、
をこの順で行うことを特徴とする負極活物質の製造方法。 - 前記樹脂はフェノール樹脂である請求項10に記載の負極活物質の製造方法。
- 前記炭素化工程は600℃〜1000℃に加熱して行う請求項10又は請求項11に記載の負極活物質の製造方法。
- 前記層状ポリシランは、フッ化水素(HF)と塩化水素(HCl)との混合物と、二ケイ化カルシウムと、を反応させて得られたものである請求項10に記載の負極活物質の製造方法。
- 前記凝集粒子形成工程は、前記層状ポリシランを非酸化性雰囲気下にて400℃以上で熱処理する請求項10に記載の負極活物質の製造方法。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の負極活物質を含む負極を有することを特徴とする蓄電装置。
- リチウムイオン二次電池である請求項15に記載の蓄電装置。
- ラマンスペクトルにおいてラマンシフトの341±10cm−1、360±10cm−1、498±10cm−1、638±10cm−1、734±10cm−1にピークが存在する層状ポリシランを熱処理することで製造されたナノシリコン凝集粒子と、非晶質の炭素からなり該凝集粒子の少なくとも一部を覆って複合化された炭素層と、よりなる複合体粒子を含み、
