Claims (23)
- 硬質複合体を作製するための方法であって、
a.(i)複数の立方晶窒化ホウ素(cBN)粒子と、(ii)窒化物、炭化物、炭窒化物、ホウ化物、酸化物、炭素及び金属相からなる群から選択される複数の粒子とを含む複合材料を、ある型内に堆積させるステップと、
b.前記型内の前記複合材料に機械プレスを適用し、それにより前記複合材料が平らにされ、圧縮されるステップと、
c.前記型内の前記複合材料に圧密プロセスを適用するステップであって、前記圧密プロセスが、化学気相浸透(CVI)であるステップと、を含み、
前記ステップcが、CVIプロセスを用いて前記材料に第2の材料を浸透させるステップを含む、前記方法。 - 前記第2の材料が、窒化物、炭化物、炭窒化物、酸化物、ホウ化物、炭素及び金属相からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複合材料を形成する前記粒子の大きさが、50nm〜100μmの範囲に及ぶ、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 窒化物、炭化物、炭窒化物、ホウ化物、酸化物、炭素及び金属相からなる群から選択される前記複数の粒子が、窒化チタン(TiN)、炭化チタン(TiC)及び炭窒化チタン(TiCN)からなる群から選択される粒子を含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 窒化物、炭化物、炭窒化物、ホウ化物、酸化物、炭素及び金属相からなる群から選択される前記複数の粒子が、コバルト及びニッケルからなる群から選択される粒子を含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- ボールミルを用いて前記複合材料を混合するステップをさらに含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記CVIプロセスが、120分〜2400分の範囲の時間で行われる、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記CVIプロセスが、850℃〜1100℃の範囲の温度で行われる、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記堆積ステップが、前記複合材料の厚さにわたって前記cBN粒子に粒径の傾斜が生じるように行われる、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記傾斜が1nmから広がる、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記傾斜が最大30μmにまで広がる、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記型が基板である、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記型が犠牲材料である、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記犠牲材料を研削して取り除くステップをさらに含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記複合材料を堆積させる前記ステップの前に、前記型上に薄膜を挿入するステップをさらに含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記複合材料にローラーを適用するステップをさらに含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記複合材料にローラーを適用する前記ステップ中、前記ローラーを撹拌するステップをさらに含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記複合材料の厚さが30μm〜1000μmである、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 材料の複合層を含む複合体であって、
a.立方晶窒化ホウ素(cBN)粒子と、
b.窒化物、炭化物、炭窒化物、ホウ化物、酸化物、炭素及び金属相からなる群から選択される他の粒子と、を含み、
前記cBN粒子及び他の粒子が圧密されて前記複合層となり、さらに前記複合層の厚さが30μm超であり、
前記複合体が、前記複合層に浸透している第2の材料をさらに含み、前記第2の材料が、窒化物、炭化物、炭窒化物、酸化物、ホウ化物、炭素及び金属相からなる群から選択され、
複合体の厚さにわたって前記cBN粒子に粒径の傾斜をさらに有する、前記複合体。 - 前記傾斜が1nmから広がる、請求項19に記載の複合体。
- 前記傾斜が最大30μmにまで広がる、請求項20に記載の複合体。
- 被覆材料であって、
a.立方晶窒化ホウ素(cBN)粒子と、
b.複合コーティング層を形成するための、前記cBN粒子との混合物中の他の粒子であって、窒化物、炭化物、炭窒化物、ホウ化物、酸化物、炭素及び金属相からなる群から選択される他の粒子と、
c.前記複合コーティング層の下にあるブロックと、を備え、
前記複合コーティング層の厚さが30μm超であり、
前記複合コーティング層に付着している型をさらに備え、
前記型が犠牲材料である、前記被覆材料。 - 被覆材料であって、
a.立方晶窒化ホウ素(cBN)粒子と、
b.複合コーティング層を形成するための、前記cBN粒子との混合物中の他の粒子であって、窒化物、炭化物、炭窒化物、ホウ化物、酸化物、炭素及び金属相からなる群から選択される他の粒子と、
c.前記複合コーティング層の下にあるブロックと、を備え、
前記複合コーティング層の厚さが30μm超であり、
前記複合コーティング層に付着している型をさらに備え、
前記型と前記複合コーティング層との間に薄膜をさらに備える、前記被覆材料。
