Description
本発明は、内燃機関用のレーザ点火装置に関しており、この点火装置は、レーザ活性固体および有利には受動式の、Qスイッチ回路を備えたレーザ装置と、備えた、このレーザ装置を光学的にポンピングするためのポンプ光源とを有する。
本発明の課題は、改善されたレーザ点火装置と、改善された動作方法を提供することである。
Claims (9)
- レーザ活性固体(44)およびQスイッチ回路(46)を有するレーザ装置(26)を備えたレーザ点火プラグ(100)と、前記レーザ装置(26)を光ポンピングするポンプ光源(30;130)とを備えた、内燃機関(10)用のレーザ点火装置(27)において、
前記ポンプ光源(30;130)は複数(32;132)の面発光型半導体レーザ(32a,32b,…)を有しており、
前記ポンプ光源(30;130)は前記レーザ点火プラグ(100)のケーシングに組み込まれており、
ポンプビーム(60)が、VCSELアレイ(132)から直接、集束光学系(104a)を介し、前記レーザ装置(26)から出射するレーザパルス(24)に対して平行な方向で前記レーザ装置(26)に入射する、
ことを特徴とするレーザ点火装置(27)。 - 請求項1に記載のレーザ点火装置(27)において、
前記ポンプ光源(130)は、空間的に互いに離れて配置された複数の面発光型半導体レーザのグループ(138a,138b,138c)を有しており、
面発光型半導体レーザからなる当該グループ(138a,138b,138c)によって形成したポンプビーム(60a,60b,60c)が、直接、集束光学系(104a)を介して前記レーザ装置(26)に入射可能である、
ことを特徴とするレーザ点火装置(27)。 - 請求項1または2に記載のレーザ点火装置(27)において、
前記Qスイッチ回路(46)は、受動式または能動式のQスイッチ回路である、
ことを特徴とするレーザ点火装置(27)。 - 請求項1から3までのいずれか1項に記載のレーザ点火装置(27)において、
前記VCSELアレイ(132)はヒートシンク(134)上に配置されている、
ことを特徴とするレーザ点火装置(27)。 - 請求項4に記載のレーザ点火装置(27)において、
前記ヒートシンク(134)は、前記レーザ点火プラグ(100)のケーシング(102)と一体に接続されている、
ことを特徴とするレーザ点火装置(27)。 - レーザ活性固体(44)およびQスイッチ回路(46)を有するレーザ装置(26)を備えたレーザ点火プラグ(100)と、該レーザ装置(26)を光ポンピングするポンプ光源(30;130)とを備えた、内燃機関(10)用のレーザ点火装置(27)を動作させる方法において、
前記ポンプ光源(30;130)は、前記レーザ装置(26)を光ポンピングする複数(32;132)の面発光型半導体レーザ(32a,32b,…)を有しており、
前記ポンプ光源(30;130)は前記レーザ点火プラグ(100)のケーシングに組み込まれており、
ポンプビーム(60)を、VCSELアレイ(132)から直接、集束光学系(104a)を介し、前記レーザ装置(26)から出射されるレーザパルス(24)に対して平行な方向に前記レーザ装置(26)に入射させる、
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項6に記載の方法において、
前記レーザ装置(26)ないしは前記レーザ活性固体(44)の種々異なる体積領域(V1,V2,V3)に互いに別個にポンプビーム(60a,60b,60c)が供給される、
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項7に記載の方法において、
前記レーザ装置(26)は、複数のレーザパルス(24a,24b,24c)を同時に形成する、
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項6から8までのいずれか1項に記載の方法において、
前記Qスイッチ回路(46)は、受動式または能動式のQスイッチ回路である、
ことを特徴とする方法。
