Claims (5)
- 内周に複列の外側軌道面を有する外方部材と、ホイールに取り付けるためのフランジを有するハブ輪およびハブ輪の外周に嵌合された内輪からなり、前記外側軌道面に対向する複列の内側軌道面を有し、内輪に一方の内側軌道面が形成された内方部材と、外側軌道面と内側軌道面との間に介在した複列の転動体とを備え、ハブ輪の端部を加締めることで予圧が付与された転がり軸受と、外側継手部材を有する等速自在継手とを備え、ハブ輪の孔部に外側継手部材の軸部を嵌挿することで転がり軸受と等速自在継手とがユニット化された車輪用軸受装置の製造方法であって、
外側継手部材の軸部に山部および谷部からなるモジュール0.5以下の小さい歯を備えたスプラインを設けて、前記山部で軸部の外径面に軸方向に延びる凸部を形成し、
凸部の熱処理硬化により凸部の硬度をハブ輪の孔部の内径面よりもHRCで20以上高くし、
ハブ輪の孔部の内径面に小凹部を形成し、
凸部を軸方向に沿ってハブ輪の孔部内径面の小凹部に圧入し、ハブ輪の孔部内径面に、圧入した凸部による切削で凹部を形成して、凸部と凹部との嵌合接触部位全域が密着する凹凸嵌合構造を構成すると共に、軸部の外径面の周方向に隣合う凸部間の領域と、これに対向するハブ輪の孔部内径面との間に隙間を設けることを特徴とする車輪用軸受装置の製造方法。 - 軸部の外径寸法とハブ輪の孔部の内径寸法との径差をΔdとし、凸部の高さをhとし、その比をΔd/2hとしたときに、0.3<Δd/2h<0.86にした請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受装置の製造方法。
- 凸部の硬度がHRCで50〜65であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の車輪用軸受装置の製造方法。
- ハブ輪の孔部内径面の硬度がHRCで10〜30であることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項3に記載の車輪用軸受装置の製造方法。
- 凸部の圧入開始側の端面を軸方向と直交する面にしたことを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の車輪用軸受装置の製造方法。
