Claims (5)
- 対向配置された第1基板及び第2基板と、
前記第1基板の一面側に設けられた第1電極と、
前記第2基板の一面側に設けられた第2電極と、
前記第1基板の一面側に設けられた第1垂直配向膜と、
前記第2基板の一面側に設けられた第2垂直配向膜と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板の相互間に設けられた複数の柱状スペーサーと、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板の相互間に設けられた液晶層、
を含み、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極とが重なる領域により複数の画素部が構成されており、
前記第1垂直配向膜は、一方向へ配向処理を施され、
前記液晶層は、電圧無印加時においてプレティルト角を有しており、
前記複数の柱状スペーサーは、各々、平面視において、前記配向処理によって定まる前記液晶層の層厚方向の略中央における液晶分子の配向方向に対して直交せず、かつ平行ではない線からなる輪郭を有して帯状に延在しており、前記複数の画素部のうち少なくとも2つ以上の画素部にまたがって当該2つ以上の画素部と重なるように配置されている、
液晶表示装置。 - 対向配置された第1基板及び第2基板と、
前記第1基板の一面側に設けられた第1電極と、
前記第2基板の一面側に設けられた第2電極と、
前記第1基板の一面側に設けられた第1垂直配向膜と、
前記第2基板の一面側に設けられた第2垂直配向膜と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板の相互間に設けられた複数の柱状スペーサーと、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板の相互間に設けられた液晶層、
を含み、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極とが重なる領域により複数の画素部が構成されており、
前記第1垂直配向膜は、一方向へ配向処理を施され、
前記液晶層は、電圧無印加時においてプレティルト角を有しており、
前記複数の柱状スペーサーは、各々、平面視において前記配向処理の方向に対して直交せず、かつ平行ではない線からなる輪郭を有して帯状に延在しており、前記複数の画素部のうち少なくとも2つ以上の画素部にまたがって当該2つ以上の画素部と重なるように配置されている、
液晶表示装置。 - 前記複数の柱状スペーサーの各々の前記輪郭は直線からなる、請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記複数の柱状スペーサーの各々の前記輪郭は折線若しくは曲線又はこれらの組み合わせからなる、請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記複数の柱状スペーサーの各々は、全体的な延在方向が前記配向処理の方向に対して略直交し又は略平行である、請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
