Description
Claims (2)
- 印刷機であって、
媒体経路に沿って印刷媒体を移送する構成とした媒体移送システムと、
前記媒体経路に沿って配置した印刷ステーションであって、少なくとも一色を有するインクの液滴を吐出する構成のインクジェット印刷に用いられる第1の複数の記録ヘッドを含む印刷ステーションと、
前記媒体経路に沿って配置した透明インクステーションであって、透明インクの液滴を吐出する構成のインクジェット印刷に用いられる第2の複数の記録ヘッドを含む透明インクステーションと、
コントローラであって、
インクジェット印刷装置を用いて印刷される画像に対応するデジタルデータを受け取り、
前記印刷される画像の、異なる被覆領域密度を有する複数の領域を識別する被覆領域マップを生成し、
前記被覆領域マップにより識別された各領域に対する被覆領域密度を、該被覆領域マップにおいて識別された領域の各色プレーンごとに異なる光沢レベルデータの重み付けをすることによって識別し、
前記被覆領域マップにより識別された各領域の被覆領域密度を識別するに際して、各色のインクの光沢レベルの違いを相殺するような重み付けをし、透明インクの中間調レベルを選択することで、各領域の光沢レベルが均一になるようにし、
前記媒体移送システムを動作させ、前記印刷ステーションと前記透明インクステーションを通り越して前記印刷媒体を移動させ、
前記デジタルデータを基準に前記印刷ステーション内の前記第1の複数の記録ヘッドを動作させ、前記少なくとも一色を有するインク液滴を吐出することで前記印刷媒体の表面に画像を形成し、
前記透明インクステーション内の前記第2の複数の記録ヘッドを動作させ、前記選択された中間調レベルの透明インクを前記画像受容面に吐出し、該第2の複数の記録ヘッドを前記選択された中間調レベルを基準に動作させ、前記被覆領域マップにより識別された前記異なる領域上に異なる量の透明インクを吐出する、コントローラと、
前記印刷ステーションにより吐出されたインク液滴を前記印刷媒体の表面全体に拡散する構成の拡散ステーションとを備え、
該拡散ステーションは、前記印刷ステーションと前記透明インクステーションとの間の前記媒体経路に沿って配置される
、印刷機。 - 印刷機であって、
媒体経路に沿って印刷媒体を移送する構成とした媒体移送システムと、
前記媒体経路に沿って配置した印刷ステーションであって、少なくとも一色を有するインクの液滴を吐出する構成のインクジェット印刷に用いられる第1の複数の記録ヘッドを含む印刷ステーションと、
前記媒体経路に沿って配置した透明インクステーションであって、透明インクの液滴を吐出する構成のインクジェット印刷に用いられる第2の複数の記録ヘッドを含む透明インクステーションと、
コントローラであって、
インクジェット印刷装置を用いて印刷される画像に対応するデジタルデータを受け取り、
前記印刷される画像の、異なる被覆領域密度を有する複数の領域を識別する被覆領域マップを生成し、
前記被覆領域マップにより識別された各領域に対する被覆領域密度を、該被覆領域マップにおいて識別された領域の各色プレーンごとに異なる光沢レベルデータの重み付けをすることによって識別し、
前記被覆領域マップにより識別された各領域の被覆領域密度を識別するに際して、各色のインクの光沢レベルの違いを相殺するような重み付けをし、透明インクの中間調レベルを選択することで、各領域の光沢レベルが均一になるようにし、
前記媒体移送システムを動作させ、前記印刷ステーションと前記透明インクステーションを通り越して前記印刷媒体を移動させ、
前記デジタルデータを基準に前記印刷ステーション内の前記第1の複数の記録ヘッドを動作させ、前記少なくとも一色を有するインク液滴を吐出することで前記印刷媒体の表面に画像を形成し、
前記透明インクステーション内の前記第2の複数の記録ヘッドを動作させ、前記選択された中間調レベルの透明インクを前記画像受容面に吐出し、該第2の複数の記録ヘッドを前記選択された中間調レベルを基準に動作させ、前記被覆領域マップにより識別された前記異なる領域上に異なる量の透明インクを吐出する、コントローラと、
前記印刷ステーションにより吐出されたインク液滴を前記印刷媒体の表面全体に拡散する構成の拡散ステーションとを備え、
該拡散ステーションが、前記透明インクステーションにより吐出された透明インクを前記拡散ステーションが前記印刷媒体上に拡散できる所定位置であって、前記媒体経路に沿った所定位置に配置される、印刷機。
