Description
本発明は、第1電極と第2電極との間に、有機層を複数積層したバルクヘテロジャンクション型の有機光電変換素子において、該有機層の少なくとも1層は、重合性基を1つ以上有する化合物(有機光電変換素子用材料)を塗布し、これにエネルギー照射して重合し、不溶化処理された層であることを特徴とする。
本発明の有機光電変換素子の層構成について説明する。
図1は、バルクヘテロジャンクション型の有機光電変換素子からなる太陽電池を示す断面図である。図1において、バルクヘテロジャンクション型の有機光電変換素子10は、基板11の一方面上に、透明電極12、バルクヘテロジャンクション層の発電層14及び対電極13が順次積層されている。
また、バルクヘテロジャンクション層に用いたn型半導体材料単体からなる層を用いることもできる。
次に、以上説明したバルクヘテロジャンクション型の有機光電変換素子10を応用した光センサアレイについて詳細に説明する。光センサアレイは、前記のバルクヘテロジャンクション型の有機光電変換素子が受光によって電流を発生することを利用して、前記の光電変換素子を細かく画素状に並べて作製し、光センサアレイ上に投影された画像を電気的な信号に変換する効果を有するセンサである。
《光電変換素子の作製》
実施例で使用した化合物は以下のように合成した。
NDI−8CN2は国際公開第07/146250号パンフレットを参考に合成した。
(正孔輸送層の形成)
ガラス基板上に、インジウム・スズ酸化物(ITO)透明導電膜を110nm堆積したもの(シート抵抗13Ω/□)を、通常のフォトリソグラフィ技術と塩酸エッチングを用いて2mm幅にパターニングして、透明電極を形成した。
P3HT(ポリ−3−ヘキシルチオフェン)とPCBM(6,6−フェニル−C61−ブチリックアシッドメチルエステル)を3質量%になるように1:1で混合し、クロロベンゼンに溶解し一昼夜撹拌してバルクヘテロジャンクション層塗布液を調製した。
上記作製した積層素子に、真空蒸着装置を用いて、BCP(バソキュプロイン)を5nm厚形成し、さらに、アルミニウムをシャドウマスクを通してパターン蒸着し、100nm厚の対電極を形成した。得られた光電変換素子は、窒素雰囲気下で水蒸気のゲッターを内側に貼り付けたガラス缶とUV硬化樹脂を用いて封止した。
前記封止済み素子を、150℃のホットプレート上で10分間アニール処理し、光電変換素子1を得た。
(正孔輸送層の形成)
ガラス基板上に、インジウム・スズ酸化物(ITO)透明導電膜を110nm堆積したもの(シート抵抗13Ω/□)を、通常のフォトリソグラフィ技術と塩酸エッチングを用いて2mm幅にパターニングして、透明電極を形成した。

P3HT(ポリ−3−ヘキシルチオフェン)とPCBM(6,6−フェニル−C61−ブチリックアシッドメチルエステル)を3質量%になるように1:1で混合し、クロロベンゼン−アセトニトリル混合溶媒に溶解し一昼夜撹拌してバルクヘテロジャンクション層塗布液を調製した。
(正孔輸送層の形成)
ガラス基板上に、インジウム・スズ酸化物(ITO)透明導電膜を110nm堆積したもの(シート抵抗13Ω/□)を、通常のフォトリソグラフィ技術と塩酸エッチングを用いて2mm幅にパターニングして、透明電極を形成した。
(電子輸送層の形成)
光電変換素子4の作製と同様にして、バルクヘテロジャンクション層を形成した後、上記合成したNDI−8CN2を0.5質量%になるようにフッ素化アルコール溶媒(TFPO、テトラフルオロプロパノール)に溶解し、スピンコーターで塗布し、続けて140℃で10分間乾燥した。膜厚はスピンコーターの回転数で調整し、電子輸送層を形成した。
(変換効率の評価)
上記作製した光電変換素子に、ソーラーシミュレーター(AM1.5Gフィルタ)の100mW/cm2の強度の光を照射し、有効面積を4.0mm2にしたマスクを受光部に重ね、短絡電流密度Jsc(mA/cm2)及び開放電圧Voc(V)、フィルファクターFFを、同素子上に形成した4箇所の受光部をそれぞれ測定し、平均値を求めた。またJsc、Voc、FFから式1に従ってエネルギー変換効率η(%)を求めた。
(耐久性の評価)
さらに、上記作製した光電変換素子に、JIS C8938の温湿度サイクル試験A−2に対応する温湿度変化(−20℃〜85℃、相対湿度85%)を10サイクル実施し、その前後で上述の測定方法によりエネルギー変換効率η(%)を求めた。温湿度サイクル実施前のエネルギー変換効率に対する温湿度サイクル実施後のエネルギー変換効率を、同素子上に形成した4箇所の受光部をそれぞれ測定し、それぞれ算出した値の平均値を求めた。

Claims (5)
- 第1電極と第2電極との間に、少なくとも正孔輸送層を有する有機層を複数積層したバルクヘテロジャンクション型の有機光電変換素子の製造方法において、ビニル基を1つ以上有する化合物を塗布し、加熱とともに紫外線照射による重合によって、不溶化処理された前記正孔輸送層を形成し、前記正孔輸送層が、重合の反応性が異なる2種以上の前記化合物を塗布し、加熱とともに紫外線照射による重合によって不溶化処理された層であることを特徴とする有機光電変換素子の製造方法。
- 前記ビニル基を1つ以上有する化合物が、芳香族第三級アミン構造を有し、かつ、20℃でトルエンに1質量%以上溶解することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機光電変換素子の製造方法。
- 前記重合反応によって不溶化処理された層を形成後、有機ドナー材料と有機アクセプター材料を混合したバルクヘテロジャンクション構造を有する発電層を形成することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の有機光電変換素子の製造方法。
- 前記有機ドナー材料と有機アクセプター材料が、20℃でクロロベンゼンに1質量%以上溶解することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の有機光電変換素子の製造方法。
- 前記第1電極と第2電極の間に、有機の正孔輸送層及び有機の電子輸送層を有し、該正孔輸送層と電子輸送層の間に、有機ドナー材料と有機アクセプター材料を混合したバルクヘテロジャンクション構造を有する発電層を有し、全ての有機層を塗布法によって形成することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の有機光電変換素子の製造方法。
