Description
a) 前記電流源から前記回路ノードへ前記発光素子のうちの少なくとも第1の発光素子の所望の明度を表す第1の電流を供給するステップと、
b) 前記回路ノードが特定の電圧レベルに達するように、前記発光素子のうちの前記少なくとも第1の発光素子へ結合された前記第1の電流変調器をプログラミングして、前記回路ノードから前記第1の電流を取り出すステップと、
c) 前記電流源から前記第1の電流を供給することを中止するステップと、
d) 前記回路ノードで前記特定の電圧レベルを回復するように前記第2の電流の強さを制御するステップと、
を有する方法によって達成される。

Claims (7)
- 複数の行及び複数の列を有するマトリクスを有する表示装置であって、
前記複数の列の各々が:
複数の発光素子と、
複数の第1の電流変調器であり、各々が、前記複数の発光素子の1つへ結合され、且つ、該列の当該複数の第1の電流変調器に共通の回路ノードから、前記結合された発光素子のためのプログラム可能な大きさの供給電流を取り出すように構成され、前記発光素子の明度は前記供給電流に対応する、複数の第1の電流変調器と、
前記発光素子の所望の明度を表すビデオデータによって制御され、前記回路ノードに結合された前記複数の発光素子のうちの少なくとも1つの所望の明度を表す大きさを有する第1の電流を、前記回路ノードへ供給するように構成された電流源と
を有し、
前記回路ノードは、前記回路ノードに供給される電流が、前記複数の第1の電流変調器のうちの1つ以上によって前記回路ノードから取り出される電流に等しいときに、特定の電圧レベルを有し、
当該表示装置は更に:
前記回路ノードへ第2の電流を供給するように構成された第2の電流変調器と、
前記回路ノードへ接続された入力と、常に前記特定の電圧レベルに保持された基準端子へ接続された入力とを有する第1の比較器であり、該比較器の出力が前記第2の電流変調器の制御入力へスイッチによって選択的に接続されて、前記回路ノードに前記特定の電圧レベルを生じさせるように、前記第2の電流変調器から前記回路ノードへ供給される前記第2の電流が制御される、第1の比較器と、
を有する、表示装置。 - 前記スイッチが開かれるときに前記制御入力を一定電圧に保つために、前記制御入力に蓄積コンデンサが接続されている、請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1の比較器は、前記回路ノードへ接続された反転入力と、前記基準端子へ接続された非反転入力とを有する演算増幅器である、請求項1又は2記載の表示装置。
- 前記回路ノードへ接続された入力と、前記基準端子へ接続された入力とを有する第2の比較器と、
複数のスイッチであり、各々が、前記第1の電流変調器のうちの1つの制御入力へ前記第2の比較器の出力を選択的に接続する、複数のスイッチと、
を更に有する請求項1乃至3のうちいずれか一項記載の表示装置。 - 複数の行及び複数の列を有するマトリクスを有する表示装置を動作させる方法であって、
前記複数の列の各々は:
複数の発光素子と、
複数の第1の電流変調器であり、各々が、前記複数の発光素子の1つへ結合され、且つ、該列の当該複数の第1の電流変調器に共通の回路ノードから、前記結合された発光素子のためのプログラム可能な大きさの供給電流を取り出すように構成され、前記発光素子の明度は前記供給電流に対応する、複数の第1の電流変調器と、
前記発光素子の所望の明度を表すビデオデータによって制御される電流源であり、前記回路ノードへ第1の電流を供給するように構成された電流源と、
前記回路ノードへ第2の電流を供給するように構成された第2の電流変調器と
を有し、
前記回路ノードは、前記回路ノードに供給される電流が、前記複数の第1の電流変調器のうちの1つ以上によって前記回路ノードから取り出される電流に等しいときに、特定の電圧レベルを有し、
当該方法は:
a) 前記電流源から前記回路ノードへ前記複数の発光素子のうちの少なくとも第1の1つの所望の明度を表す第1の電流を供給するステップと、
b) 前記複数の発光素子のうちの前記少なくとも第1の1つへ結合された前記第1の電流変調器をプログラミングして、前記回路ノードから前記第1の電流を取り出し、それにより前記回路ノードに前記特定の電圧レベルを生じさせるステップと、
c) 前記電流源から前記第1の電流を供給することを中止するステップと、
d) 前記c)のステップの後に、前記回路ノードの電圧レベルの前記特定の電圧レベルとの比較に基づき、前記回路ノードに前記特定の電圧レベルを生じさせるよう、前記第2の電流変調器から前記回路ノードへ供給される前記第2の電流を制御するステップと
を有する、方法。 - 前記ステップa)からd)は、前記複数の発光素子のうちの少なくとも第2の1つの発光素子に関して繰り返され、
前記ステップa)及びb)を繰り返している間、前記第2の電流の大きさは、前のステップd)で設定された値に保たれる、請求項5記載の方法。 - 前記ステップa)からd)は、前記複数の発光素子のうちの前記少なくとも第1の1つに関して繰り返され、
前記ステップa)からd)が繰り返される前、前記発光素子のうちの前記少なくとも第1の1つへ結合された前記第1の電流変調器は、前記回路ノードから電流を取り出さないようプログラミングされる、請求項5又は6記載の方法。
