生分解性の高い潤滑油として、基油に動物油や植物油を用いたものがあるが、削岩機、穿孔機、杭打ち機などに用いるためには、高い潤滑性、具体的には、耐荷重性、耐摩耗性が要求されるとともに、周辺や圧縮空気中より水分が混入するため、高い乳化性も求められており、これらの要求性能を満足するものはなかった。
合成エステルの40℃における動粘度は、10〜500mm2/s、好ましくは20〜100mm2/sの範囲のものが選定される。
また、合成エステル系基油の酸価は、腐食抑制及び水混入時の加水分解抑制の観点から、1mgKOH/g以下が好ましく、0.5mgKOH/g以下がより好ましい。
また、本発明の基油には、上記エステルおよび植物油以外に、生分解性、毒性、潤滑性などを損なわない範囲で、鉱油、オレフィン重合体、アルキルベンゼン等の炭化水素系油や、ポリグリコール、ポリビニルエーテル、ケトン、ポリフェニルエーテル、シリコーン、ポリシロキサン、パーフルオロエーテル等の酸素含有合成油を配合しても良いが、上記合成エステルおよび植物油は、基油全量基準で80質量%以上含有させることが好ましく、90質量%以上含有させることがより好ましく、合成エステルおよび植物油100質量% とすることが最も好ましい。
このコハク酸イミド化合物は、分子量が500〜1500のモノイミド化合物および/またはビスイミド化合物が、高い乳化性と生分解性のために好ましい。
しかしながら、通常の潤滑油で酸化防止剤や潤滑性向上剤などとして用いられている、アルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛(ZnDTP)などの有機亜鉛化合物やモリブデンジチオカーバメイト(MoDTC)、硫化モリブデンなどのモリブデン化合物等の重金属含有添加剤は、実質的に含まないようにする。実質的に含まないとは、潤滑油組成物の全量基準で、重金属元素として5ppm以下である。
また、本潤滑油組成物においては、粘度指数が100以上、流動点が−10℃以下、引火点が250℃以上であることが好ましい。
[潤滑油組成物の調製]
次に示す潤滑油基油、硫黄系化合物、リン系化合物、コハク酸イミドおよび添加剤を用いて、実施例、比較例の潤滑油組成物を調製した。なおブレンドは、所定量の基材を、60℃に加熱し、均一液体となるまで攪拌し、室温まで冷却した。
(A1)菜種油(動粘度(40℃);31mm2/s、粘度指数;214、流動点;−20℃、引火点;326℃)
(A2)ポリオールエステル油(動粘度(40℃);495mm2/s、粘度指数;153、流動点;−30℃、引火点:300℃)
(A3)パラフィン系鉱物油(動粘度(40℃);32mm2/s、粘度指数;106、流動点;−15℃、引火点;230℃)
(B1)硫化油脂(硫黄分:11%、動粘度(40℃):1000mm2/s)
(B2)硫化油脂(硫黄分:15%、動粘度(40℃):1600mm2/s)

(ロ)色;JIS K2580に準拠してASTM色を測定

(ニ)40℃動粘度;JIS K2283に準拠して測定
(ホ)引火点;JIS K2265−4に準拠して測定
(ヘ)粘度指数;JIS K2283に準拠して測定
(ト)酸価;JIS K2501に準拠して測定
(チ)銅板腐食;
JIS K2513に準拠して100℃、3hrの測定をする.ここで、銅変色度が1レベルを◎(腐食性ナシ)、2レベルを△、3、4レベルを×(強度の腐食性アリ)として示した。
JIS K2519に準拠して、曽田四球試験機を用い、回転数750rpm、Shock法にて耐荷重能(焼付荷重)を評価した。焼付荷重が0.25MPa以上を◎(極圧性能:優れる)、0.2MPa以下を×(極圧性能:低い)で示した。
潤滑油組成物の水乳化特性を評価する目的で以下の乳化試験を実施した。JIS K2520に準拠して、潤滑油組成物40mlと精製水40mlを試験管に入れ、54℃の恒温槽に静置し、かき混ぜ板を入れ、回転数1500rpmで5分間かき混ぜる。かき混ぜ終了から1時間経過時の乳化層量が70ml以上を◎(乳化性:特に優れる)、50〜70mlを○(乳化性:良好)、50ml以下を×(乳化性:劣る)で示した。また、形成した乳化層の外観を観察し、均一な油中水型乳化の場合を◎(乳化性:優れる)、水中油型乳化や粘ちょうなクリーム状乳化の場合を×(乳化性:劣る)で示した。
修正MITI試験法「OECD301C」に準拠し、生分解率を測定する。なお、1998年7月に改訂されたエコマーク認定基準では、上記生分解率は60%以上であることが要求される。本試験で生分解性が60%以上を合格(生分解性:高い)、60%以下を不合格(生分解性:劣る)で示した。
JIS K0102に準拠し、試験魚としてヒメダカを用い、96時間後の半数致死濃度LC50値を測定する。なお、1998年7月に改訂されたエコマーク認定基準では、上記LC50値が100mg/L以上であることが要求される。本試験でLC50値が100mg/L以上の場合を合格(毒性:低い)、100mg/L以下を不合格(毒性:高い)として示した。
これに対して、比較例1〜3は、生分解性が60%以下で、さらに比較例2、3は、魚類毒性が高く、これら比較例は環境適合性に劣る潤滑油組成物である。
Claims (2)
- 大豆油、菜種油、ひまわり油、サフラワー油、落花生油、とうもろこし油、綿実油、米ぬか油、カポック油、ごま油、オリーブ油、あまに油、ひまし油、パーム油、パーム核油、ヤシ油、麻実油、米油および茶種油から選ばれる少なくとも一種の植物油を基油とし、硫黄分が6〜15質量%の硫化油脂を潤滑油組成物全量基準で0.1〜5質量%および/またはトリアリールホスフェートを潤滑油組成物全量基準で0.1〜5質量%、並びに分子量500〜1500のコハク酸モノイミドおよび/またはコハク酸ビスイミドを潤滑油組成物全量基準で0.1〜5質量%含有し、OECDテストガイドライン301C法の微生物による化学物質の分解度試験における生分解率が60%以上、JIS K0102に基づくヒメダカに対する急性毒性試験で96時間LC50値が100mg/L以上、40℃の動粘度が10〜500mm2/sで、かつ重金属含有添加剤が重金属元素として5ppm以下である潤滑油組成物。
- 植物油が菜種油である請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
