Description
図1は、第1実施形態の車両用灯具の構成を示す模式的な断面図である。図1に示す車両用灯具は、車両の前照灯(ヘッドランプ)として用いられるものであり、光源11、コリメートレンズ12、第1反射偏光素子13、液晶素子14、第2反射偏光素子15、反射板(ミラー)16、反射板(ミラー)17、曲面反射部18、曲面反射部19、遮光板(シェード)20、プロジェクターレンズ21、ハイビーム用レンズ22、液晶駆動部23を含んで構成されている。
図7は、第2実施形態の車両用灯具の構成を示す模式的な断面図である。図7に示す車両用灯具は、車両の前照灯(ヘッドランプ)として用いられるものであり、光源11、コリメートレンズ12、偏光プリズム30、液晶素子14、偏光素子31、プロジェクターレンズ21a、液晶駆動部23を含んで構成されている。なお、第1実施形態の車両用灯具と共通する構成については同符号を付しており、それらの詳細な説明は省略する。
図10は、第3実施形態の車両用灯具の構成を示す模式的な断面図である。図10に示す車両用灯具は、車両の前照灯(ヘッドランプ)として用いられるものであり、光源11、コリメートレンズ12、偏光プリズム30、液晶素子14、反射偏光素子15b、曲面反射部19b、遮光板(シェード)20b、プロジェクターレンズ21b、ハイビーム用レンズ22b、液晶駆動部23を含んで構成されている。なお、第1実施形態または第2実施形態の車両用灯具と共通する構成については同符号を付しており、それらの詳細な説明は省略する。
なお、本発明は上述した各実施形態の内容に限定されるものではなく、本発明の要旨の範囲内において種々に変形して実施をすることが可能である。
Claims (6)
- 光源と、
前記光源から出射する光の進路上に配置された第1偏光素子と、
液晶層を有し、前記第1偏光素子を透過する前記光の進路上に配置された液晶素子と、
前記液晶素子を透過する前記光の進路上に配置された第2偏光素子と、
前記液晶素子のしきい値電圧より低いオフ電圧、前記しきい値電圧より高い第1オン電圧、前記第1オン電圧より高く、かつ前記液晶素子の前記液晶層にバックフローを生じさせる高さの第2オン電圧、の何れかを前記液晶素子に対して選択的に供給する液晶駆動部と、
を含む、車両用灯具。 - 前記液晶駆動部は、前記第2オン電圧の供給を開始してから所定期間が経過した後に、前記液晶素子のしきい値電圧より高い第3オン電圧を供給する、請求項1に記載の車両用灯具。
- 前記第1オン電圧と前記第3オン電圧とが等しい、請求項2に記載の車両用灯具。
- 前記第1偏光素子及び前記第2偏光素子は、各々、前記光の入射する方向に対して斜めに配置された反射偏光素子である、請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の車両用灯具。
- 前記第1偏光素子は、偏光プリズムである、請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の車両用灯具。
- 前記第2偏光素子は、前記光の入射する方向に対して斜めに配置された反射偏光素子である、請求項5に記載の車両用灯具。
