[2]本発明に係る一態様の車両用灯具システムは、上記の車両用灯具と、この車両用灯具の光源及び液晶素子の動作を制御する制御装置とを含む車両用灯具システムである。
Claims (9)
- 車両の前方へ光照射するための車両用灯具であって、
光源と、
前記光源の光を集光する集光部材と、
前記集光部材により集光される前記光源の光のうち第1成分を第1方向へ進行させるとともに当該光源の光のうち第2成分を前記第1方向と交差する第2方向へ進行させる第1偏光素子と、
前記第1方向の光軸上において前記第1偏光素子の光出射側に配置される液晶素子と、
前記第1方向の光軸上において前記液晶素子の光出射側に配置される第2偏光素子と、
前記第1方向の光軸上において前記第2偏光素子の光出射側に配置され、前記液晶素子及び前記第2偏光素子を透過する前記光の第1成分を前記車両の前方へ投影する投影レンズと、
前記第1偏光素子により生じる前記光の第2成分を反射して前記車両の前方へ進行させる反射部材と、
を含み、
前記光の第1成分は、前記第1方向の光軸上における前記第1偏光素子と前記第2偏光素子との間で第1焦点を結び、前記光の第2成分は、前記第1偏光素子と前記反射部材との間で第2焦点を結び、
前記液晶素子は、前記第1焦点の位置に対応して配置され、
前記反射部材によって反射された前記光の第2成分は、ロービームに相当する光の照射パターンを形成する、
車両用灯具。 - 前記第1方向は、前記集光部材により集光された前記光源の光の進行方向と略平行な方向である、
請求項1に記載の車両用灯具。 - 前記第1方向は、前記集光部材により集光された前記光源の光の進行方向と交差する方向である、
請求項1に記載の車両用灯具。 - 前記第1偏光素子と前記液晶素子は、相互に密着せずに離間して配置され、
前記液晶素子と前記第2偏光素子は、相互に密着せずに離間して配置される、
請求項1~3の何れか1項に記載の車両用灯具。 - 前記投影レンズから出射する前記光の第1成分の偏光方向と前記反射部材から進行する前記光の第2成分の偏光方向とが互いに異なる、
請求項1~4の何れか1項に記載の車両用灯具。 - 前記反射部材から進行する前記光の第2成分の偏光方向が前記車両の走行する路面に対して交差する方向である、
請求項5に記載の車両用灯具。 - 前記液晶素子は、光入射面が前記第1方向の光軸と略直交するように配置される、
請求項1~4の何れか1項に記載の車両用灯具。 - 前記第1偏光素子と前記液晶素子の間に配置される第3偏光素子を更に含む、
請求項1~7の何れか1項に記載の車両用灯具。 - 請求項1~8の何れかに記載の車両用灯具と、
前記車両用灯具の前記光源及び前記液晶素子の動作を制御する制御装置と、
を含む、車両用灯具システム。
