Description

第1の溶着方法は、フィルムの下面がそれ自身に溶着される"裏面と裏面の"接合として公知の接合を生成することにある。この接合は、図1中で具体的に説明される。
第2の溶着方法は、フィルムの端部が重なっており、そして該フィルムの下面が該フィルムの上面に溶着される"裏面と表面の"接合として公知の接合を生成することにある。
この接合は、図2中で具体的に説明される。
"突き合わせ接合"として公知の第3の接合方法は、フィルムの端部を重ねることなく溶着することにある。この方法は、図3中で具体的に説明され、国際公開第2005/095105A1号パンフレット、および米国特許第5569144号明細書、および米国特許第4733800号明細書中に記載される。
一例として、米国特許第4733800号明細書は、多層のプラスチックフィルムから製造され、そして折りたたみ(dead−fold)特性を有する柔軟な管の生産、柔軟なアルミニウム管の特徴である特性を記載する。この特許は、管の内側または外側に溶着され、そして溶着された端部で接合するストリップの使用を提案し、該ストリップは、折りたたみ特性を提供する金属箔を含有する。上記の特許は、ストリップ中の金属箔の厚さが多層フィルム中の金属箔の厚さより厚いことを特定する。この特許の主要な欠点は、調製された管状体の端部のシーリングの困難さに関係する。ペースト状製品(例えば、歯のペースト)用の管を製造するために、管状体の端部に射出成形された管ヘッドを溶着することは普通である。この米国特許第4733800号明細書の教示に従って得られた管状体上への管ヘッドの溶着は、行うのが特に難しい。溶着されたストリップの端部が管状体の内側表面で不連続性を生じ、したがって漏れのリスクを生じる。該ストリップを管の外側に溶着することがまた、この特許に示されている。しかし、アルミニウム層を含有するこの厚さの厚いストリップは、包装の美しさを著しく損なう。
米国特許第5569144号明細書は、フィルムの端部を突き合わせ溶着するためのデバイスを記載する。ほとんど見えない溶着部を有する得られた管は、改善された美的特性を有する。しかし、溶着部での管の低強度により、これらの管の商業的使用が非常に危くなる。
国際公開第2005/095105号パンフレットは、溶着可能でない層を含む多層フィルムの突き合わせ溶着を改善する方法を記載する。この方法は、下面および上面に溶着可能なフィルムを含むラミネート;フィルムの端部から奥まっており、溶着可能なフィルムとの間の閉じ込められた溶着可能でない層の使用にある、それによって、突き合わせ溶着の間に、溶着可能な層が、その端部で溶着可能でない層を取り囲み、そしてその全厚にかけてフィルムの溶着を可能にする。この方法は、多層フィルムの突き合わせ溶着を改善するが、しかし国際公開第2005/095105号パンフレットに提案されたこの方法によって生産された多層の管は、溶着部においてフィルムの強度より低い強度を有する。
突き合わせ溶着における主な難しさは、強度がフィルムの強度に近い溶着部を得ることである。特に、引っ張り応力が溶着にかけられた場合に、突き合わせ溶着部で観察される脆い割れ目の態様を克服することが望ましい。
本発明は、少なくとも1つの溶着可能でない層を含む多層フィルムから突き合わせ溶着された包装、フィルムの強度に少なくとも等しい強度、および改善された美的特性を有する本発明により得られた包装を生産することを可能にする。
本発明は、少なくとも、1つの機能性層および1つの溶着可能な層を含む幾つかの層からなるフィルムの突き合わせ溶着で、該機能性層がよくても部分的に溶着されることに関する。溶着部での強度の損失を補うように、フィルムの端部を接合するストリップが加えられ;強度の損失は、該機能性層の端部がよくても部分的に溶着されるか、または溶着可能な層が溶着部で低下した特性を有するという事実に関係する。
本発明の種々の形態は、以下の図およびそれらの詳細な記載からよりよく理解されるであろう:
明細書中で使用される用語の定義:
溶着:同じ性質を有する、または溶融状態で混和性である2種の材料を溶融することによって接合することにある操作、該混和性は、分子鎖の拡散および相互浸透により現れ;次に分子の相互浸透の状態を固定するために、該材料を冷却する。
接着:同じ性質でない、または溶融状態で不混和性である2つの材料を接合する操作。接着は、化学的なメカニズム(鎖末端部の反応、架橋)によって、または物理的メカニズム(ファンデルワールス力、蒸発)によって起こることができる。接着は、室温でまたは材料を加熱することによって、行うことができる接合操作である。
溶着可能な層:主な特徴が溶着によって包装の調製を可能にし、そして促進する層。
機能性層:主な特徴が溶着される能力以外の特性を提供する層。例えば、包装の外観(印刷層、透明層)を改善するため、包装の強度(二軸延伸層、テクニカル層)を改善するため、(酸素、香りに対する)バリアー特性を提供するため、または機能性(包装を開くための引き裂き容易性)を提供するために、薄い厚さを有する機能性層が一般的に使用される。
溶着可能な層は、一般的にポリオレフィン(ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン)に基づく。突き合わせ溶着は、非常に少量の材料と接触させ、それが強い接合を得ることをさらに難しくする。80%リニア低密度ポリエチレンと20%ラジカル低密度ポリエチレンのブレンドからなる溶着可能な層が、強い溶着が得られることを可能にすることが観察された。
機能性層は、広範な樹脂(例えば:PET、PA、PS、EVOH、PVDC)に基づいて、その選択は所望の特性に依存する。今日使用される主な機能性層は、バリアー特性(SiO、PVDC、EVOH、PA被膜の配置を有するPET)を有する一軸または二軸延伸された(PP、PET、PA、PS)層またはフィルムである。機能性層はまた、アルミニウムまたは紙でできていてもよい。
本発明は、溶着部において無視できる厚さの変化を有し、そしてフィルムの強度と等しい溶着部の強度を有する溶着された包装を得ることを可能にする。得られた包装は、溶着部で印刷が途切れることなく、その全表面にかけて印刷できる。
図5は、本発明の好ましい態様を具体的に示す。この好ましい態様は、下表面4として少なくとも1つの溶着可能な層8および上表面3として1つの機能性層7を含むフィルム2の端部5の接合1からなり;該上面3は包装の外側の表面を形成し、そして該下表面4は、包装の内側の表面を形成する。端部5の突き合わせ溶着は、フィルム2の端部の部分的な接合となるが、機能性層7は突き合わせ溶着されない。ストリップ6は、該層の非溶着端部を接合し、そして接合を補強するために、フィルムの上表面3に接着または溶着される。ストリップ6は、多くの場合、ストリップの溶着が一般的に不可能である機能性層3の上に接着される。該ストリップ6は、印刷されているか、または透明であることができ、溶着部におけるバリアー層の起こりうる不連続性を補うために、バリアー層を含むことができる。ストリップ6の厚さは、フィルム2の厚さと比較して薄い。ストリップの厚さは、選択的に10〜60μmである。ストリップは、ラミネートの突き合わせ溶着の前または後に適用できる。包装の内側の表面4を形成する溶着可能な層8は、包装の内側および接合上における衛生特性を保証する。
図5中で具体的に説明された好ましい本発明の態様により調製された包装は、特に好都合かつ革新的である。この本発明の好ましい態様は、第1の層が溶着可能であり、そして第2の層が機能性である2つの層のみを含むフィルム突き合わせ溶着によって、包装を調製可能にする。この方法によって調製された包装は、溶着部での不連続性を有することなく、包装の全表面にかけて印刷できる。ストリップ6は、包装の外観を変化させないために、好ましくは透明であり、そして薄い厚さである。ストリップ6はまた、印刷可能である。
図5中で具体的に説明された好ましい態様は、融点の違いが20℃より高い層を含むフィルムを突き合わせ接合するために好都合である。
好ましい方法によるこれらのフィルムの接合は、溶着可能な層の融点に近い温度へ該フィルムを加熱すること、および接着されたまたは溶着されたストリップを介して該フィルムの端部を接合することにある。
図6は、第1のストリップ6が包装の外側面に加えられ、そして第2のストリップ10が包装の内側面に加えられる場合を具体的に示す。
図8に存在する接合は、溶着可能な層8の厚さが薄い場合に好都合である。ストリップ6は、一般的に機能性層7の上面3に接着されるが、一方ストリップ10は、層8の下面4に有利に溶着され、包装の内側表面を形成する。
図7中で具体的に説明された本発明の変形は、フィルム2の外側の表面を覆う合成樹脂層11を配置させること;該合成樹脂層llは、フィルム2の全表面3およびまた、ストリップ6の表面を被覆し、それによってストリップ6が接合1の内側に閉じ込められることにある。図7中で具体的に説明された接合は、溶着部が完全に見えず、そして溶着部において高い強度を有する管状体を調製するのに、特に好都合である。被膜層16は、選択的にフィルム2の表面上に押し出され、そして該層は、フィルム2およびストリップ6の表面に接着するように選択される。被膜l1は、フィルム2への接着を改善するため、包装のバリアー特性または表面特性を改善するために、いくつかの層を含むことができる。
図8は、発明の選択的な方法によるフィルム突き合わせ溶着による管状体の調製を具体的に示す。溶着可能な第1の層および機能的な第2の層の、2つの層のみを含むフィルムで調製されるので、この管状体は特に好都合である。該フィルムの下面上への上面の溶着が不可能なので、このフィルムは、従来技術により管状体を調製するために使用できない。本発明は、より強くおよびさらに美的な包装を生産することを可能にし、そしてより多様な多層フィルムの使用を可能にする。
上記の様に、包装が改善された美的特性を有するように調製されること;溶着部がほとんど見えないこと、および包装の壁が溶着部において無視できる余分な厚さを有すること、という事実と関係する包装の審美性における改善を可能にするために、フィルムの突き合わせ溶着は、特に好都合である。
本発明は、図5〜8中で具体的に説明された例に限られない。管状体は、図5〜7に示された方法によって生産できる。図5〜7中で具体的に説明された方法の組み合わせから生じる他の方法はまた、均等な使用と同様に、本発明の一部をなす。
本発明はまた、薄い厚さでおよび高い強度の経済的である包装を生産することを可能にする。本発明は、多層のプラスチックフィルム、さらにアルミニウム層、紙またはボール紙層を含むフィルムを接合するために使用できる。
ストリップの厚さは、フィルムの厚さと比較して薄い。一般的に、ストリップの厚さは、フィルムの厚さより5〜10倍薄い。該ストリップの厚さは、選択的に10〜60μmである。ストリップは、印刷されているか、または透明であることができ;ラミネートの表面に接着または溶着でき;接合のバリアー特性を改善するために、バリアー層を含むことができる。ストリップは、ラミネートの突き合わせ溶着の前または後に適用できる。ストリップは、室温で適用が行われる接着ストリップであることができる、ストリップはフィルムと該ストリップの界面への接着剤の追加によって接着でき、ストリップは該ストリップを加熱することによって接着でき、ストリップは溶着可能である。フィルムの表面上へストリップの接着強度は、接合の強度を決定する1つの因子である。圧力、張力、曲げ、衝撃、または疲労応力が包装にかけられた場合、低すぎる接着強度は、接合の割れ目のリスクとなる。従って、該ストリップが該フィルムから分離できないように、ストリップとフィルムとの間で強い接着を得ることが望ましい。
ストリップは、フィルムの表面上に溶着または接着できる。多くの場合、包装の外側の表面を形成する接合の上表面上のフィルムの上にストリップを接合することが好ましい。多くの接着剤および接着方法は、想定できる。一例として、第1の方法は、接着剤があらかじめ適用された上に、ストリップを加えることにある。この方法の第1の変形は、室温で適用できる接着ストリップであり、第2の変形は、加熱によって接着される接着ストリップである。接着ストリップの使用は、制御するのが容易であり、そして工業レベルまでスケールアップするのが容易である方法を生じる。別の方法は、接合時に接着剤をストリップまたはフィルムに適用することにある。二液性反応性接着剤の使用は、強い接着レベルを得ることを可能にする。一般的に、接着作業は、接合部のなんら特別な表面処理を必要としないが、しかし接着(例えば、コロナ処理)の前に表面処理を行うことができる。
ストリップがフィルムの表面上に接着される場合、管状体の端部の前でストリップを終了させるのが時折好都合である。ストリップは、したがって管状体の長さの一部のみにわたって伸びる。管状体の端部と管の頭部とを接合する場合、多くの場合、ストリップに接合部が無いことが好ましい。
適用の方法および提供される特性により、種々のタイプのストリップがある。
1−ストリップが溶着される:ストリップは、例えば、溶着可能な(共押し出しされた、アモルファス、被覆された)PET、共押し出しされたOPP、PE、PPまたは熱封止可能な被膜の層を含む。
2−ストリップは、接着され、そして接着剤によって被覆される。その唯一独特な特徴は、高温または低温のいずれかで使用できる接着剤である接着剤の層を表面上に有することである。接着剤は、ラインにおいて配置されるか、またはストリップ上に存在できる。ストリップは、次にロールの形態で貯蔵され、接着剤は、次にシリコーン紙またはフィルムによって保護される。シリコーンは、任意選択的にストリップの外側の表面の上へ直接配置でき、従ってストリップを置く時に、シリコーンの保護を除去しなければならないことを避けることができる。
紙およびアルミニウムを加えることができる任意のタイプの材料、特に上記1および2に記載された材料を、このストリップに使用できる。次にストリップの定義は、バリアー、機械的耐性および外観特性に関して望まれる特性によって導かれるであろう。
3−ストリップは接着されるが、しかしそれ自身は接着剤で被覆されない。接着剤は、フィルム2の上に配置、またはインライン(in−line)で配置できる。使用できる材料は、上記1と同じである。
バリアー特性を提供するために、ストリップは、(PVOH、PVDC、SiOx、AlOまたは金属化被膜または任意の他の市販されているフィルムを有する)アルミニウム層、PETもしくはOPPバリアー層、またはEVOHタイプのバリアーで共押し出しされた層を含むことができる。
そして、一般的に、製品特性の連続性を確かにするために、補強ストリップは、包装に使用されるフィルム2と同じ機能性層、つまりPET、OPP、OPA、バリアーPET、金属化PET、バリアーOPP、金属化OPP、アルミニウム紙、PE、PP等を含むことができる。
ストリップは、幾つかの層からなることができる。ストリップは、例えば、OPP、PET、紙、PE、PP、OPA、PA、PET/PE、OPP/PE、OPA/PE、紙/PE、PET/Al、OPP/Al、OPA/Al、PET/Al/PE、PET/Al/PP、OPP/Al/PE、OPP/Al/PP、OPA/Al/PE、OPA/Al/PP、紙/Al/PE、紙/PET、紙/Al等でできていることができる。製品の一般的な名前のみを本明細書中に挙げる。この名前は全製品群を網羅する。従ってPETは、従来の二軸延伸PET、アモルファスPET、共押し出しされたPET、SiO PET、AlO PET、金属化PET等であることができる。PEは、すべてのPEをベースとする共押し出しされたフィルムを含み;PEは、とりわけ、EVOHまたはPA層を含む。これは、他の例でも同じである。
さらに、10〜60μmの厚さの範囲にある一般的に市販されているすべてのフィルムは、単独でまたは幾つかの層として、これらのストリップ中に存在できる。
本発明は、化粧品、薬品または食品用の柔軟な管を調製するのに特に好都合である。
以下の例において、多層構造は、包装の外面から内面へと、つまり接合の上面から下面へと記載される。本発明の理解を簡素にするために、フィルム2の溶着可能な層および機能性層を接合する接着層は示されていない。ストリップ6または10とフィルム2との間の接着を提供する接着剤の層のみが特定される。

図1は、裏面と裏面の溶着として公知の溶着を具体的に示し、その下面4上で該フィルム2の端部5を接合すること、該下面が包装の内側に位置することにある。 図2は、裏面と表面または重ね合わせ溶着として公知の溶着方法を具体的に示し、フィルム2の端部5を溶着すること;フィルム2の上面3がフィルム2の下面4に接合され;該下面および上面が、それぞれ包装の内側および外側に位置することにある。 図3は、フィルム2の端部5の突き合わせ溶着として、公知の溶着方法を具体的に示す。 図4は、従来技術で公知のタイプの接合を示す。 図5は、フィルム2の端部5の接合1;少なくとも、1つの溶着可能な層8および1つの機能性層7から形成されるフィルム2、該端部5が溶着可能な層8のみにおいて突き合わせ溶着されていること;薄いストリップ6がフィルム2の上面3の上に接着され、そして層7の溶着されていない端部で接合していることからなる本発明の選択的な方法を具体的に示す。 図6は、その端部5で部分的に突き合わせ溶着されるフィルム2の接合、ストリップ6が包装の外側の表面を形成する接合の上面3の上に加えられていること;第2のストリップ10が、包装の下面4の上に加えられ、そして包装の内側の表面を形成していること;該ストリップ6および10が部分的に溶着された端部5を接合していることを具体的に示す。 図7は、被膜層llが、フィルム2およびストリップ6の全表面を覆うために、外側の表面3に加えられることができるという事実を具体的に示す。被膜層llは、包装の外側の表面を形成し、ストリップ6は、多層構造中に閉じ込められている。 図8は、本発明の選択的な態様による管状体の製品を具体的に示す。

Claims (9)

  1. 端部が突き合わされるように、該端部が置かれた熱可塑性フィルムから生産された包装であって
    該フィルムは、第1の溶着可能な層および端部の突き合わせ溶着が部分的だけであるかまたは存在しない第2の層を少なくとも含む幾つかの層からなり、そして少なくとも1つの薄いストリップが該フィルムの厚さに比較して薄い厚さを有し、該ストリップが端部を被覆し、そして該第2の層の面の1つに直接取り付けられており、該第1の層と該他の層もしくは他の複数の層との間の融点の違いが20℃超である、包装
  2. 該フィルムの該端部に取り付けられ、そして該フィルムの両側上に置かれた2つのストリップを含む、請求項1による包装。
  3. 該ストリップまたは複数のストリップが接着されている、請求項1または2による包装。
  4. 該第2の層および該ストリップが、合成樹脂の層によって覆われている、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項による包装。
  5. ィルムの端部を突き合わせ溶着し、それぞれの層の該端部が直接接触し、該フィルムが第1の溶着可能な層および該端部の該突き合わせ溶着が部分的だけであるかまたは存在しない第2の層を少なくとも含む幾つかの層からなる方法であって、
    該フィルムの該端部が突き合わされて置かれ、次に該第1の層の該端部を溶着するために、連続的に加熱され、そして冷却されること、および少なくとも1つのストリップが該端部を覆うように、該第2の層に取り付けられることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載された包装の生産方法。
  6. 該ストリップが、該加熱および冷却操作の前に、該第2の層に取り付けられることを特徴とする、請求項5による方法。
  7. 該ストリップが、該加熱および冷却操作の後で、該第2の層に取り付けられることを特徴とする、請求項5による方法。
  8. 該ストリップが、該加熱および冷却操作と同時に、該第2の層に取り付けられることを特徴とする、請求項5による方法。
  9. 少なくとも1つの合成樹脂の層が、該フィルムと該ストリップまたは複数のストリップとで形成された接合部の該表面を覆って配置される、請求項5〜7のいずれか一項による方法。
