Description

本発明は、包装分野にあり、プラスチック製フィルムを使用して形成される軟質チューブを改善することを目指す。さらに詳細には、複層チューブ構造体及びその製造方法に関する。
軟質チューブは、歯磨きペースト、化粧品、医薬品又は食料品をも包装するために一般に使用される。
多くの軟質チューブは、軟質チューブ状ボディーを形成するために溶着することによってその末端が接合されている積層体から作られている。チューブ状ボディーの溶着は、積層体の末端を重ね、そして重複部で表面を溶着することによって行われる。その後、チューブヘッドをこのチューブ状ボディーの上に溶着又はオーバーモールドする。
一般に使用される積層体は3種のフィルムの積層から生じる:
積層体の上部表面と包装物の外面とを形成する第1のフィルム。フィルムは、一般に印刷され、そしていくつかの層を備えることが多い。フィルムは、積層末端の重複部で第3のフィルムに溶着されている。好ましくは、この第1のフィルムは、包装物が高生産速度において溶着されることにより製造されるようにポリオレフィンから形成される。
第1及び第のフィルムの間に閉じ込められ、積層体の中心部分を形成し、かつしばしば、芳香又は酸素に対する低透過性のような防壁特性を提供する第2のフィルム。第2のフィルムは、例えば、アルミニウム箔から、又はエチレンビニルアルコール(EVOH)のような防壁ポリマーを備える複層フィルムから構成されている。

欧州特許出願第2701926号明細書の主題は、酸素及び芳香に対して防壁効果を有する1つの層を備える複層軟質スカートから形成されるチューブである。上記層は、いくつかのポリオレフィンベースの層の間に閉じ込められている。包装物の防壁効果層と内面との間に配置される層の総厚みは、芳香をより良く含むために55〜135μmである。
欧州特許出願第203265号明細書では、高い応力亀裂耐性を有する軟質チューブを製造するための複層積層体が提供されている。複層構造体は、チューブの内面を形成する線状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)の層を含む。上記LLDPE層は、外側ポリエチレン層上に高速溶着することができ、摩擦による塵の発生に対して高い耐性を示す。欧州特許出願第203265号明細書は、以下の優先的な複層構造体を提供する。その層は、チューブの外面を形成する上部層から、チューブの内面を形成する積層体の下部表面に向かって以下の様に列挙される:PE−PE−紙−LDPE−接着剤−アルミニウム−接着剤−LLDPE。
米国特許第4418841号明細書では、構造体中に埋設された二軸延伸ポリプロピレン(BOPP)フィルムにより高い収縮性を示す積層体が提供される。さらに、チューブは、応力亀裂耐性、及び摩擦による塵の形成に対する耐性を実質的に改善する線状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)の層を備えている。米国特許第4418841号明細書では、以下の選択的な複層構造体が提供されている。その層は、チューブの外面を形成する上部層から、内面を形成する積層体の下部層に向かって以下の様に列挙される:LDPE−LDPE−紙−PEI−OPP−PEI−EAA−アルミニウム−EAA−LLDPE。
米国特許第5051266号明細書では、包装物の内面を形成する下部層が、エチレン−ビニルアセテート(EVA)とエチレン/アクリル酸コポリマーとのブレンドから形成される積層体から構成される軟質チューブが提供されている。積層体の少なくとも内層が照射される。そのチューブを、包装製品のin situ加熱(cooking)のために使用する。そのチューブを、水浴に浸漬する。米国特許第5051266号明細書に提供される複層構造体は、製品とチューブの内面との間の接触を改善する。
従来技術で提供されるチューブは;
十分な防壁特性を保証すること;
高速溶着を可能にすること;
印刷又は印刷可能な外面を有すること;
応力亀裂に対する耐性を保証すること;
摩擦による塵の形成を防止すること;
十分な強度を有すること;そして
包装製品に関して衛生特性を保証すること:
を可能にする多数の層を備える積層体から製造されている。
それらの製造方法を簡素化し、いっそう経済的な積層体を製造するために、これらの積層体の層の数を減少させることは、大いに興味のあることである。
本発明の概要で使用される用語の定義
本発明の概要では、以下の用語及び略語が使用される。
積層体:いくつかのフィルムの積層から製造された複層フィルム
BOPET:二軸延伸ポリエチレンテレフタレート
BOPP:二軸延伸ポリプロピレン
BOPA:二軸延伸ポリアミド
PE:ポリエチレン
LDPE:低密度ポリエチレン

接着剤:数種のフィルムを一緒に接合するために積層体の作製の間に使用される接着剤
グルー:積層体にストリップを結合するために使用される接着剤製品
溶着:同じ特性を有するか、又は溶融状態で混和性である2つの材料を溶融によって接合することを目的とする溶着操作
上記混和性は、分子鎖の拡散及び相互貫入によって、その後の分子相互貫入の状態を固定するために上記材料を冷却することにより表される。
結合:溶着とは異なり、結合は、溶融状態で同じ特性のものではないか、又は非混和性である2つの材料を接合するための操作として定義される。結合は、化学的機構(鎖末端の反応、架橋)、又は物理的機構(ファンデルワールス力、蒸散)によって起こり得る。結合は、室温で、又は材料を加熱することによって行われ得る接合操作である。
溶着可能層:その主要特徴が、溶着により包装物の作製を可能にし、促進することである層
機能層:その主要な特徴が、溶着される能力以外の特性を提供することである層
一般的に厚みの小さなものである機能層が、例えば包装物の外見を改善するため(印刷層、透過性層)、包装物の強度を改善するため(二軸延伸層、技術的層)、防壁特性(酸素、芳香に対する)を提供するため、又は機能性を提供するため(包装物を開くために簡単な断裂)に使用される。
本発明は、少なくとも1つの第1の層及び1つの第2の層を備える積層体から形成された包装用軟質チューブであって、上記第1の層は、上記第1の層がそれ自体に溶着することができる特性を有する材料から形成されていることと、上記第2の層は、上記第2の層が上記第1の層の上に溶着することができない特性を有する材料から形成されていることとを特徴とする包装用軟質チューブに関する。
有利には、本発明は、
包装物の内面を形成する第1のポリオレフィンベース層と、
包装物の外面を形成する二軸延伸ポリマーから製造される第2の層と、
を含む。
好ましくは、上記第1の層は、それ自体に高速溶着され得るポリエチレン層である。包装物の内面を形成する線状低密度ポリオレフィン層が有利である。
本発明の第1の実施形態によれば、積層体は、酸素又は芳香に対する防壁効果を有する層を有する。
別の実施形態によれば、ポリオレフィンベース層は、総厚みの少なくとも60%を構成する。
別の実施形態によれば、積層体は、200μm未満の厚みを有する。
優先的には、上記積層体は、2つのフィルムのみの積層から生じる。
本発明によるチューブは、改善された破裂強度、良好な落下衝撃強度、応力亀裂に対して非常に優れた耐性、及び優れた防壁特性を有する。
チューブは、積層体の末端を突合せ溶着する(butt−weld)ことによって、及び上記積層体の末端を接合する薄いストリップを加えることによって製造される。
本発明は、有利な複層構造を有するチューブを記述する。従来技術で提供されるものに反して、この複層構造体は、上記チューブの内面及び外面を互いに溶着できないという事実によって特に区別される。
図1で示される本発明は、積層体2の末端を溶着することによって形成された軟質チューブ状ボディー1の断面を表す。その積層体2は、チューブ状ボディーの外面を形成する少なくとも第の層3、及び上記チューブ状ボディーの内面を形成する第の層4を備えている。層4は、ポリオレフィンベース樹脂から構成され、そして積層体の末端の突合せ接合部5でそれ自体に容易に溶着され得る。内層4は、チューブ状ボディー1の末端でチューブヘッドの接合を可能にする。上記チューブヘッドは、溶着によるか、又はオーバーモールドによって、接合されることができる。
包装製品と接触している層4は、製品を保存するために必要とされる衛生特性を提供する。好ましくは、ポリオレフィンベース層は、積層体の厚みの少なくとも60%を呈する。体の外面を形成する層3は、一般に装飾用の媒体として使用され、上記装飾は、包装物の表面にあるか、又は積層体の厚み内で埋設されることができる。層3は、有利には、厚みが小さく、及び強度が高いことを示す機能層である。層3は、その表面特性(感触)及びそれの光学特性(光沢、透明度)に関して選択され得る。
それらの特性の相補性により、層3及び層4は、異なる特性のものであり、互いに溶着することができない。積層体を形成する層を、接着剤と一緒に接合し、そして当業者によって知られる方法によって接合する。層3及び層4が互いに溶着できないので、チューブ状ボディーの作製は、積層体の末端の重複部を溶着することによって行うことができない。積層体の末端を突合せ接合する方法を提案する。
本発明の優先的な実施形態によれば、積層体2は、3つのフィルムの接合を要求する最近使用される積層体と違い、おそらくいくつかの層を備える2つのフィルムのみの接合から生じる。本発明のこの優先的な実施形態によれば、第のフィルムは、少なくとも、包装物の外側層を形成する層3を含み、そして第のフィルムは、少なくとも、包装物の内面を形成する層を含む。好ましくは、第のフィルムは、機能層を含み、第のフィルムは、溶着可能な層を備える。
本発明の1つの特に有利な実施形態によれば、チューブ1は、その外面を形成する二軸延伸ポリマー層3を備える積層体2から形成される。二軸延伸ポリマー層はまた、包装物の魅力を改善する高い強度及び光学特性(ガラス透明度)を提供する。本発明の第1の典型的実施形態によれば、積層体は、積層体の外面を形成するBOPET層、及び包装物の内面を形成するLLDPE層を含む。その2つの層は、接着剤の薄層によって一緒に接合される。LLDPE層は、上記積層体の厚みの80%以上を表す。酸素又は芳香に対する複層構造体の不浸透性を改善するために、防壁効果を有する別の層を加えることが有利である。例えば、EVOH層を、LLDPE層に挿入する。別の解決策は、BOPET層上にSiOxを堆積させることにある。
本発明で提案されるチューブの複層構造体は、多くの利点を有する。この複層構造体は、層の数の減少を含み、高い強度、酸素又は芳香に対する低浸透性、及び素晴らしい審美特性をも示す。チューブは、溶着領域での装飾の不連続性なしに、チューブ状ボディーの全外周にわたって装飾され得る。
本発明の要点は、積層体を溶着して、チューブ状ボディー1を形成する方法にある。これは、包装物が同一の特性を有するように、溶着領域が、積層体のものと類似の特性を有することが重要であるからである。本発明は、積層体のものと少なくとも同等である溶着領域で特性を得ることが可能になる積層体の末端を接合する方法を提案する。理想的には、溶着領域は、審美的にも、機械的にも包装物の使用者によって検知されえない。
チューブ状ボディー1を作製する第1の方法を、図2に例示する。この方法は、積層体2の末端を突合せ溶着することにあり、そして包装物の外面に固定されたスリップ6を使用して溶着領域5を強化することにある。一般に、積層体2の末端の突合せ溶着操作は、上記末端の部分的接合を生じ、そして溶着可能な層4のみが、有効に溶着される。層3が突合せ溶着されない場合、それは溶着領域5でチューブ状ボディーについて脆性の領域を生じる。ストリップ6は、溶着の際、層3の不連続性を強化するか又は補うべき溶着領域を可能とする。好ましくは、ストリップ6は、層3の強度より大きいか又は等しい強度を示す二軸延伸ポリマー層を備える。ストリップ6を、層3に溶着又は結合させてもよい。層3が、二軸延伸ポリマー層である場合、ストリップ6を、一般に結合させる。
チューブ状ボディー1を接合する第2の方法を、図3に例示する。この方法は、積層体2の末端を突合せ溶着すること、及び包装物の内面に固定されたストリップ6を使用して溶着領域5を強化することにある。ストリップ6を、層4に溶着する。ストリップ6は、層3と同じ特性のポリオレフィン層を備えていることが好ましい。ストリップ6はまた、2つの溶着可能な層の間に埋設された二軸延伸ポリマー層を備えていることが好ましい。
積層体の溶着可能な層は、ポリオレフィン(ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン)に基づくのが一般的である。突合せ溶着は、非常に少量の材料を接触させ、これにより、強力な接合を得ることがいっそう困難になる。80%の線状低密度ポリエチレン及び20%のラジカル低密度ポリエチレンのブレンドから構成される溶着可能な層により、強力な溶着が得られることが観察された。
機能層は、多様な樹脂(例えば、PET、PA、PS、EVOH、PVDC)に基づき、そしてその選択は、所望の特性による。今日使用される主要な機能層は、一軸又は二軸延伸(PP、PET、PA、PS)層、及び防壁特性を有するフィルム(SiOx、PVDC、EVOH、PAコーティングの堆積を有するPET)である。機能層は、アルミニウム又は紙からも製造し得る。
防壁特性を提供するために、積層体は、アルミニウム層、PET又はOPP防壁層(PVOH、PVDC、SiOx、AlOx又は金属化コーティングを伴う)、又はEVOH又はPVOH型防壁と同時押出された層を含む。
本発明は、積層体の強度と等しい溶着領域における強度を有し、そして溶着領域において厚さの変動が少ない包装物を得ることを可能とする。得られた包装物を、溶着領域にわたる印刷の中断なしにその全表面にわたって印刷してもよい。
上述のチューブ構造体は、審美的特性が改善された包装を行うことが可能であるので特に有利である。包装の魅力における改善は、包装物の表面で機能層3の存在につながり、そして溶着領域を、ほとんど見ることが出来ないという事実、及び包装物の壁が、溶着領域でごくわずかな過剰厚みを有するという事実につながる。
本発明は、経済的な包装物を製造することを可能にし、厚みが薄く、そして強度が高い。本発明で記述されるチューブは、複層プラスチック製フィルムの接合から得てもよいが、アルミニウム層、及び紙又はダンボール層を備えるフィルムからも得ることができる。
積層体の厚みを考慮すると、ストリップの厚みは薄い。一般に、ストリップ厚みは、積層体の厚みより3〜10倍薄い。上記ストリップの厚みは、優先的には、10〜60μmである。ストリップは、印刷されていても、又は透明であってもよい。ストリップは、積層体の表面上に結合又は溶着されてもよい。ストリップは、接合部の防壁特性を改善するために、防壁層を含んでもよい。積層体の突合せ溶着の前後で、ストリップを加えてもよい。
ストリップは、室温で使用される接着剤ストリップであってよく、そのストリップは、積層体と上記ストリップとの間の境界で接着剤を添加することによって結合されることができ、そのストリップは、上記ストリップを加熱することによって結合されることができ、そのストリップは、溶着されることができる。積層体の表面に対するストリップの接着強度は、接合部の強度を決定する1つの因子である。圧力、引張、曲げ、衝撃又は疲労応力を包装物にかかる場合、接着強度が低すぎると、接合部破壊の危険につながる。したがって、上記ストリップを上記積層体から分離できないように、ストリップと積層体との間の強力な接着を得ることが望ましい。
ストリップを、積層体の表面に溶着又は結合させてもよい。包装物の外面を形成する接合部の上部表面上で積層体にストリップを結合させることがしばしば好まれる。多くの接着及び結合方法を想像し得る。例として、第1の方法は、接着剤が先に使用されたストリップを加えることにある。この方法の第1の変形例は、室温で使用され得る接着剤ストリップであり、第2の変形例は、加熱により結合される接着剤ストリップである。
接着剤ストリップを使用することで、制御が容易であり、そして工業レベルまで容易に規模拡大され得る方法となる。別の方法は、結合の時点でストリップに、又は積層体の上に接着剤を使用することにある。2成分反応性接着剤の適用は、高レベルの接着を得ることを可能にする。一般に、結合操作は、接合領域のなんらかの特定の表面処理を必要しないが、しかし、結合前に表面処理(例えば、コロナ処理)を行うことが可能である。
適用の様式及び提供されるべき特性によって、多様な型のストリップが存在する。
(1)ストリップを溶着する。例えば、溶着可能なPET(同時押出、アモルファス、被覆されたもの)、同時押出OPP、PE、PP又は加熱密閉可能なコーティングの層を備える。
(2)ストリップを溶着し、そして接着剤で被覆する。唯一の固有の特徴は、高温又は低温で使用され得る接着剤であろうとなかろうと、表面に接着剤の層を有することである。接着剤は、直線的に堆積されるか、又はストリップ上に存在してもよい。その後ストリップは、ロールの形態で保存され、その後接着剤は、シリコーン紙又はフィルムによって保護される。シリコーンは、場合により、ストリップの外面上に直接堆積されることができ、したがって、ストリップを装着する時点でシリコーン保護を除去しなければならないことを回避することが可能になり得る。
あらゆる種類の材料、特に、紙及びアルミニウムを加えることができるポイント1及び2で説明した材料を、このストリップのために使用することができる。その結果、ストリップの定義は、所望の防壁、機械的強度、及び外見特性の点で特性により導かれる。
(3)ストリップは結合されるが、しかしそれ自体接着剤で被覆されない。接着剤は、フィルム2上に堆積できるか、又は直列で堆積され得る。使用できる材料は、上のポイント1と同じである。
防壁特性を提供するために、ストリップは、アルミニウム層、PET又はOPP防壁層(PVOH、PVDC、SiOx、AlOx又は金属化コーティング、又は他のあらゆる市販で入手可能なフィルムを伴う)、又はEVOH型防壁と共に同時押出された層を含み得る。
一般に、そして製品特性の連続性を確保するために、強化ストリップは、包装のために使用されるフィルム2、すなわちPET、OPP、OPA、防壁PET、金属化PET、防壁OPP、金属化OPP、アルミニウム、紙、PE、PPなどと同じ機能層を含み得る。
本発明は、化粧、医薬又は食料品のための軟質チューブを製造するのに特に有利である。

Claims (4)

  1. 少なくとも1つの第1の層と、1つの第2の層とを備える積層体から形成された包装用軟質チューブ状ボディーであって、
    前記第1の層は、前記第1の層がそれ自体に溶着することができる特性を有する材料から形成されていることと、前記第2の層は、前記第2の層が前記第1の層の上に溶着することができない特性を有する材料から形成されていることとを特徴とし;
    前記第1の層及び第2の層が、それぞれ、前記チューブの内面を形成する内層及び外面を形成する外層を形成しており;前記第1の層がポリオレフィンから形成されており、前記第2の層が、二軸延伸ポリマーから形成されており、該チューブ状ボディーが、該チューブ状ボディーの表面上に固定されかつ該積層体の末端を被覆するストリップを更に含んでおり、該ストリップは、該第2の層の強度より大きいかまたは等しい強度を有する二軸延伸ポリマーを含んでおり、該ストリップが、該チューブの外面に固定されている、包装用軟質チューブ状ボディー。
  2. 前記第1の層、該第1の層と接着剤層によって接合された前記第2の層および前記ストリップのみから形成されている、請求項1に記載の包装用軟質チューブ状ボディー。
  3. 前記第2の層が、前記第2の層がそれ自体に少なくとも部分的に溶着することができる特性を有する材料から形成されている、請求項1または2のいずれか一項に記載の包装用軟質チューブ状ボディー。
  4. 前記積層体の末端が突合せ溶着されている、請求項1または2のいずれか一項に記載の包装用軟質チューブ状ボディー。
