を含有し、1.518〜1.533の屈折率nd及び少なくとも180%のアルミニウム等価厚を有するBaO−フリー及び/又はPbO−フリーのX線不透過性ガラスが提供される。好ましい実施態様及び用途は、従属請求項に示されている。
本発明の他の効果は、以下の説明からさらに明らかであろう。
従って、本発明に係るガラスは、好ましくは3〜6質量%のAl2O3を含有する。
しかしながら、アルカリ金属酸化物は、ガラスの耐薬品性を低減し得る。アルカリ金属酸化物の合計含量は、好ましくは11〜24質量%、特に好ましくは12〜23質量%である。本発明に係るガラス中のアルカリ金属酸化物の含量は、個々には、K2Oは10.5〜20質量%、Li2Oは0〜3質量%、Na2Oは0質量%から3質量%未満、Cs2Oは0〜9質量%である。
本発明に係るガラスは、好ましくはCeO2も含有しない。
しかしながら、La2O3含量は、好ましくは0.5〜14質量%、特に好ましくは2〜13質量%である。
表1に、本発明の組成範囲内の好ましい11の例示的な実施例を示す。尚、組成に関する詳細は、すべて質量%で与えられている。
各実施例に記載されているガラスは、以下のようにして製造した:
清澄剤なしで酸化物用の原料を計量し、次いで充分に混合する。ガラスバッチはバッチ式溶解装置内で約1550℃で溶解され、次いで清澄、均質化される。ガラスは、リボンとして、あるいは他の所望の寸法で、約1550℃の温度で注入でき、また加工できる。大容量の連続装置では少なくとも約100Kだけ温度を低くすることができる。

を含有する請求項1に記載のX線不透過性ガラス。 - 酸化物基準の質量%表示で以下の成分:
SiO2 52〜<58%、
B2O3 >10〜<12%、
Al2O3 3〜6%、
Li2O 0〜1%、
Na2O 0〜<3%、
K2O 11〜19%、
Cs2O 0〜6%、
ZrO2 2.2〜7%、
La2O3 2〜13%、
CaO 0〜<0.3%、
Σアルカリ金属酸化物 12〜23%、
Cs 2 O+La2O3 2〜19%
を含有する請求項1又は2に記載のX線不透過性ガラス。 - 酸化物基準の質量%表示でCs2O及びLa2O3 の含量の合計が2〜17%である請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載のX線不透過性ガラス。
- SiO2とZrO2の含量の比が、SiO2/ZrO2≧8である請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載のX線不透過性ガラス。
- 酸化物基準の質量%表示でさらに以下の成分:
ZnO2 0〜2%、
MgO 0〜2%、
WO3 0〜3%、
Nb2O5 0〜3%、
HfO2 0〜3%、
Ta2O5 0〜3%、
Gd2O3 0〜3%、
Sc2O3 0〜3%、
Y2O3 0〜3%、
SnO2 0〜2%
を含有する請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載のX線不透過性ガラス。 - SrOを含有していない請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載のX線不透過性ガラス。
- 請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載のX線不透過性ガラスを酸化物基準で少なくとも95質量%の割合で含むX線不透過性ガラス。
- 請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載のX線不透過性ガラスからなるガラス粉末。
- 粉末粒子の表面がシランでコーティングされている請求項9に記載のガラス粉末。
- 請求項9又は10に記載のガラス粉末を歯科用ガラスとして含有する歯科用ガラス/合成樹脂複合材。
- 請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のX線不透過性ガラスを含む光学素子。
- 歯修復用複合材の充填剤、歯科用合成樹脂を含有する歯科用ガラス/合成樹脂複合材を製造するための歯科用ガラス、又は歯科用合成樹脂組成物におけるX線不透過剤、としての請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のガラスの使用。
- 前記歯科用合成樹脂は、アクリレート、メタクリレート、2,2−ビス[4−(3−メタクリロキシ−2−ヒドロキシプロポキシ)フェニル]プロパン(ビス−GMA)、ウレタンメタクリレート、アルカンジオールジメタクリレート又はシアノアクリレートをベースとする紫外線硬化性樹脂である請求項13に記載のガラスの使用。
- 光学用途のための請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のガラスの使用。
- 電子部品、ディスプレイ技術、光電池、OLED又は生化学用途のための、基板ガラス及び/又はカバーガラスとしての請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のガラスの使用。
- 前記電子部品はセンサーである請求項16に記載のガラスの使用。
- ランプガラスとしての請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のガラスの使用。
- PVDプロセスにおけるターゲット材料としての請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のガラスの使用。
- ガラスファイバーのコアガラス及び/又はクラッドガラスとしての請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のガラスの使用。
