Description
Draghettiに付与された米国特許第5,477,661号は、シガレットパックをドラム上に装填し、低温で長時間加熱してパッケージを密封することを教示している。
密封が不十分か又は全く正反対に溶融した包装材料を有することに加えて、従来の完成製品には、図11に示すようなしわ80がある。
従って、現在の装置及び方法は、信頼性のある端部折り目シールを有する均一でしわがないパッケージを生産できないことが見出されている。

パック12は、従来の方法(図示せず)で包装されて折り畳まれ、当業技術で公知のいずれかの従来方法により装填通路15に装填される。図12に示す包装材料13は、ポリマー又はセロファンを含むいずれかの従来の材料とすることができ、金属化表面を含む場合がある。
所定の停止点に到達した後に、アーム本体20は、図2に示す位置に移動して戻り、溝を付けることができる表面33に沿って加熱区域32を通してパック12を押し出す。レバーアーム14が、装填通路15を覆っている加熱区域32の第1の段から加熱区域32の第2の段まで1組のパック12を押し出すと、別の組のパック12が装填通路15を通じて加熱区域32の中に前方に送られる。図2及び3は、レバーアーム14が一度に2つのパックを押し出す本発明の実施形態を示している。しかし、本発明の装置及び方法は、本発明から外れることなくあらゆる数のパックを押し出すように修正することができることが想定されている。
パック12が、最初に装填通路15から加熱区域32内に押し上げられた時に、それらは、いかなる所定の量の時間にわたってもその最初の位置又は段に留まることができる。しかし、パック12は、アーム本体が前後に移動して別の組のパック12を第1の段から第2の段まで摺動させるのに十分に長い間加熱区域内の各段に留まることになることが想定されている。
ホイール38上にある状態で、パックは、押し込み器40によって導かれてガイド42を押し込む。パック12は、次に、最終包装のために放出マガジン44内に装填することができる。
図1に示すように、パックは、加熱区域32にある間は多段加熱プレート36と接触させて置くことができる。図4は、多段加熱プレート36の設計の1つの例示的な実施形態を示している。加熱プレート36は、あらゆる数の段を有することができるが、図4は、4段の多段加熱プレート36を示している。図7−10は、加熱プレート36がパック12に接触する場合を仮想的に示している。
多段加熱プレート36の第1の段54は、平坦にすることができる。パック12、より詳細には、包装材料13は、図7に示すように加熱プレート36の平坦面に接触する。多段加熱プレート36の第1の段54は、包装材料の表面を均一に予熱する。多段加熱プレート36は、包装装置10にプレートを取り付けるため又はアラインメントのためのようなあらゆる理由でノッチ55を有することができる。
多段加熱プレート36の第3の段60は、包装材料13を密封する。多段加熱プレート36の第3の段60は、第2の凹部区域と第2の非凹部区域を有する。該第2の非凹部領域は、2つの連続した「H」形状表面61を有する。図9に示すように、その形状ゆえにそう呼ばれる「H」形状表面61は、包装材料13の重なった縁部に沿って区域59(図9に仮想的に示す)においてパック12と接触する。加熱は、接触縁部に沿って包装材料13をそれ自体に結合させ、従って、外部環境からパックを密封する。

ビューティ・バー収縮段として公知の第4の段62は、パック12の周りに包装材料13をきつく収縮させる。加熱プレートは、台形接触部材63を有する表面と、凹部区域50と、さらなる凹部区域65とを有する。図10に示すように、接触部材63は、包装材料13の重なった縁部に沿って区域64(図10に仮想的に示す)においてパック12と接触し、一方、さらなる凹部区域65は、区域66においてパック12と整列する。特に第4の段62に対して加熱プレート36の異なるレベルをより良く示すために、図6は、線6−6に沿った断面における図4の加熱器ブロックを示している。加熱ブロック36がどこでパック12と接触するかを更に示すために、パック12が仮想的に示されている。ビューティ・バー収縮段62のほぼ凹面に湾曲した形状は、パック12の包装材料13を収縮させるための適正な加熱を保証し、図11に示すような従来技術において受けたあらゆるしわ80を排除し、同時に包装材料の溶融を回避する。従って、図12に示すような改善された包装されたパック12が生成される。

を含むことを特徴とする加熱装置。 - 前記シガレットパック(12)の組は、該シガレットパック(12)の組が前記加熱区域(32)を通って直線的に前進する時に前記多段加熱プレート(36)の複数の区域に接触することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の加熱装置。
- シガレットパック(12)の組が前記加熱区域(32)内に前進するのに通過する装填通路(15)を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の加熱装置。
- パッケージ(12)の周りに包装材料(13)を密封して収縮させる方法であって、
包装材料(13)を多段加熱プレート(36)の第1の加熱段(54)と接触させて、該包装材料(13)を折り畳まれた縁部に沿って予熱する段階と、
前記包装材料(13)を前記多段加熱プレート(36)の第2の加熱段(56)と接触させて、該包装材料(13)を仮付けする段階と、
前記包装材料(13)を前記多段加熱プレート(36)の第3の加熱段(60)と接触させて、該包装材料(13)をパッケージ(12)の周りに密封する段階と、
前記包装材料(13)を前記多段加熱プレート(36)の第4の加熱段(62)と接触させて、該包装材料(13)を収縮させる段階と、
を含み、前記第4の加熱段が1つの加熱プレートであることを特徴とする方法。
