Draghettiに付与された米国特許第5,477,661号は、シガレットパックをドラム上に装填し、低温で長時間加熱してパッケージを密封することを教示している。
密封が不十分か又は全く正反対に溶融した包装材料を有することに加えて、従来の完成製品には、図11に示すようなしわ80がある。
従って、現在の装置及び方法は、信頼性のある端部折り目シールを有する均一でしわがないパッケージを生産できないことが見出されている。

- 前記加熱装置は、約140℃と170℃の間の温度に維持されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の加熱プレート。
- 前記加熱装置は、約150℃の温度に維持されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の加熱プレート。
- 熱が、4つの独立した加熱装置を使用して加熱プレートに供給されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の加熱プレート。
- 前記独立した加熱装置のうちの2つは、約140℃と160℃の間の温度に維持され、該独立した加熱装置のうちの2つは、約160℃と180℃の間の温度に維持されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の加熱プレート。
- 前記独立した加熱装置のうちの2つは、前記第1の段及び第2の段と正反対の加熱プレートの側に位置して150℃の温度に維持され、該独立した加熱装置のうちの2つは、前記第3の段及び第4の段から正反対の加熱プレートの側に位置して170℃の温度に維持されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の加熱プレート。
- 前記第4の矩形形状段における前記第3の凹部区域は、第1の凹部部分と第2の凹部部分を有し、
前記第2の凹部部分は、前記第1の凹部部分よりも更に引っ込んでおり、
前記第2の凹部部分は、矩形形状である、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の加熱プレート。 - 前記第1の段は、前記パッケージの周りに包装材料を予熱し、前記第2の段は、包装材料の縁部に沿って接着剤を活性化し、前記第3の段は、パッケージの周りに包装材料を密封し、前記第4の段は、パッケージの周りに包装材料を収縮させることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の加熱プレート。
- 前記第1の矩形形状段、前記第1の非凹部区域、前記第2の非凹部区域、及び前記第3の非凹部区域は、全て同一平面にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の加熱プレート。
- シガレット包装に使用するため加熱装置であって、
多段加熱プレートを含む加熱区域と、
前記加熱区域を通して直線的にかつ前記多段加熱プレートの複数の段に沿って、1組のシガレットパックを前進させる第1の往復装置と、
前記多段加熱プレートを前記シガレットパックの組に接触させるために内側に、かつ該シガレットの組を前記加熱区域を通して移動させるために外側に移動させる第2の往復装置と、
を含むことを特徴とする加熱装置。 - 前記シガレットパックの組は、該シガレットパックの組が前記加熱区域を通って直線的に前進する時に前記多段加熱プレートの複数の区域に接触することを特徴とする請求項12に記載の加熱装置。
- 前記シガレットパックの組と前記多段加熱プレートとの間の接触の各発生は、加熱段に対応していることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の加熱装置。
- パックの組が前記加熱区域内に前進するのに通過する装填通路を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の加熱装置。
- 前記第1の往復装置は、往復アーム本体、ピボット式レバーアーム、及びバネ機構を含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の加熱装置。
- パッケージの周りに包装材料を密封して収縮させる方法であって、
包装材料を第1の加熱段と接触させて、該包装材料を折り畳まれた縁部に沿って予熱する段階と、
前記包装材料を第2の加熱段と接触させて、該包装材料を仮付けする段階と、
前記包装材料を第3の加熱段と接触させて、該包装材料をパッケージの周りに密封する段階と、
前記包装材料を第4の加熱段と接触させて、該包装材料を収縮させる段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記4つの加熱段は、1つの加熱プレートであることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
- 請求項17に記載の方法に従って密封されたシガレットパック。
- 請求項12に記載の装置によって密封されたシガレットパック。
