Claims (11)
- 液滴を吐出する吐出口と、
前記吐出口に連通する液体流路と、
前記液体流路の壁面の一部を画定するセラミックス材料からなる変形層、セラミックス材料からなる圧電層、及び、前記変形層を介して前記液体流路に対向した電極を有し、前記電極に所定の駆動信号が供給された場合に、前記変形層を前記液体流路内に向かって変位するように変形させるアクチュエータとを備えており、
前記圧電層は前記変形層に積層されており、
前記電極は前記変形層から最も遠い前記圧電層の前記変形層と反対側の表面に形成されており、
前記電極において前記変形層とは反対側の表面に、前記電極の重心を実質的に取り囲む、端を有する線状の溝が形成されており、
前記溝に実質的に取り囲まれた領域内とその領域外とを前記溝の端同士に挟まれた位置において電気的に繋ぐ連繋部が前記電極に形成されていることを特徴とする液滴吐出ヘッド。 - 前記アクチュエータが、複数の前記電極を有しており、
前記溝が、一の前記電極の重心から前記一の電極に隣り合う他の前記電極へと向かう方向に交差する方向に長尺であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液滴吐出ヘッド。 - 前記溝が、前記電極の重心を中心とする円弧に沿って延びていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液滴吐出ヘッド。
- 前記溝が、前記電極の重心を中心とする半径が等しい複数の円弧に沿って延びていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液滴吐出ヘッド。
- 少なくとも2つの前記連繋部が形成されており、
前記2つの連繋部を結ぶ線分上に前記電極の重心が位置していることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の液滴吐出ヘッド。 - 少なくとも4つの前記連繋部が形成されており、
前記4つの連繋部のうちの2つの前記連繋部を結ぶ線分と残りの2つの前記連繋部を結ぶ線分との交点上に前記電極の重心が位置していることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液滴吐出ヘッド。 - 前記変形層が前記液体流路内へと変位する際の変形量が、前記電極の重心付近で最大となることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の液滴吐出ヘッド。
- 前記溝が、前記電極の重心を実質的に取り囲むように飛び飛びに延びていることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の液滴吐出ヘッド。
- インクを吐出するノズルと、外部からインクが供給されるインク供給口と、丸みを帯びた角を有する菱形形状の圧力室と、当該圧力室を介して、前記ノズルと前記インク供給口とを連通させるインク流路とが形成され、前記圧力室が一表面に開口した流路ユニットと、
前記流路ユニットの一表面に固定され、前記圧力室内のインクに前記吐出口から吐出させる吐出エネルギーを付与するアクチュエータとを備えているインクジェットヘッドであって、
前記アクチュエータは、
前記圧力室の開口を塞ぐように積層した複数の圧電層と、前記圧力室から最も離れた最上層の前記圧電層の上面に前記圧力室に対向して配置された、前記圧力室と相似形状の個別電極と、前記個別電極との間に前記最上層の圧電層を挟む共通電極とから構成され、
前記個別電極には、
当該個別電極の外縁に沿って延びると共に、前記最上層の圧電層の上面を露出させる溝と、前記溝によって区画される前記個別電極の内側領域と前記個別電極の外側領域とを電気的に接続する少なくとも2つの連繋部とが形成され、
前記内側領域の重心が前記個別電極の重心に重なり、
前記2つの連繋部が前記重心に関して互いに対称な位置に形成されていることを特徴とするインクジェットヘッド。 - 前記連繋部は、前記圧力室において前記菱形形状の角部に対向して配置されていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のインクジェットヘッド。
- 前記溝が、前記個別電極の重心を実質的に取り囲むように飛び飛びに延びていることを特徴とする請求項9又は10に記載のインクジェットヘッド。
