Description
本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る耐放射線性シース材料は、基本骨格としてのエチレン単位を主鎖として分子鎖に含み、基本骨格にランダムに側鎖基が結合すると共に架橋している高分子材料と、当該高分子材料中に添加される老化防止剤と、加工助剤と、難燃剤とを有して形成される。具体的に、第1の実施の形態に係る放射線環境下で使用される耐放射線性シース材料は、高分子材料としての塩素化ポリエチレンに、所定量の老化防止剤と、所定量の加工助剤と、所定量の難燃剤とをそれぞれ添加して形成される。また、第1の実施の形態に係る耐放射線性シース材料は、所定の配合剤を更に添加して形成することができる。
第1の実施の形態に係る塩素化ポリエチレンは、以下のようにして形成される。まず、粉末の線状ポリエチレンを準備する。線状ポリエチレンは、低密度のポリエチレン(例えば、910kg/m3から930kg/m3程度)から高密度のポリエチレン(例えば、930kg/m3から970kg/m3程度)を含む。続いて、粉末の線状ポリエチレンを水に懸濁分散させて水性懸濁とする。次に、原料としてのポリエチレンの結晶の融点近傍の温度において、この水性懸濁に塩素ガスを吹き込む。これにより、第1の実施の形態に係る塩素化ポリエチレンが形成される。
第1の実施の形態に係る老化防止剤は、耐熱性を保持する機能と耐放射線性を発揮する機能とを耐放射線性シース材料に付与する。老化防止剤は、フェノール系の一次老化防止剤、又はアミン系の一次浄化防止剤とを用いることができる。また、老化防止剤は、硫黄系の二次老化防止剤、又はリン系の二次老化防止剤を用いることもできる。具体的に、第1の実施の形態に係る老化防止剤は、一次老化防止剤と二次老化防止剤とを併用する。より具体的には、第1の実施の形態に係る老化防止剤は、耐熱性及び耐放射線性を向上させることを目的として、アミン系の老化防止剤と硫黄系の老化防止剤とを併用する。
第1の実施の形態に係る加工助剤は、耐放射線性シース材料の混練又は押出時の加工性を安定させる配合剤としての機能と、耐放射線性を有する放射線防御剤(アンチラッド)としての機能とを耐放射線性シース材料に付与する。加工助剤は、例えば、石油系油(すなわち、プロセス油)、又は芳香環(ベンゼン環)を含むエステル系可塑剤を用いることができる。
難燃剤は、無機系の難燃剤又は有機系の難燃剤を用いることができる。無機系の難燃剤は、三酸化アンチモン、水酸化マグネシウム、水酸化アルミニウム、ホウ酸亜鉛、又はリン系化合物等を用いることができる。また、有機系の難燃剤は、塩素系、臭素系等のハロゲン系有機難燃剤を用いることができる。
塩素化ポリエチレンの架橋方法は、チオ尿素類による架橋、アミン類による架橋、又はパーオキサイドによる架橋等を採用することができる。ここで、第1の実施の形態においては、貯蔵性、引張強さ、及び耐熱性等の観点からジクミルパーオキサイド(Di−Cumyl peroxide:DCP)等のパーオキサイドによる架橋が好ましい。そして、パーオキサイドによる架橋反応を実施するときに、架橋反応時において発生する重合体のラジカル切断を抑制して架橋効率を向上させる作用を有する架橋助剤を併用することが望ましい。
安定剤は、シース材料の成形加工時における熱履歴による分解反応を抑制すると共に、耐放射線性シース材料を使用する際における熱劣化及び放射線劣化を抑制する。安定剤は、金属石鹸、鉛系化合物、有機スズ系化合物、ハイドロタルサイト系化合物、又はハイドロタルサイト系化合物及び金属石鹸を含む非鉛安定剤としての複合安定剤を用いることができる。なお、環境に配慮する場合、安定剤は、金属石鹸、有機スズ系化合物、ハイドロタルサイト系化合物、又はハイドロタルサイト系化合物及び金属石鹸を含む非鉛安定剤としての複合安定剤を用いることが好ましい。
例えば、ゴム材料の合成等において用いられる滑剤、充填剤、着色剤等を更に配合剤として用いることができる。なお、塩素化ポリエチレンの架橋方法、塩素化ポリエチレンに所定の配合剤を物理的に混合する混練技術、及びシース材料を所定形状に形成する押出技術等は通常の方法を採用することができる。
本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る耐放射線性シース材料は、塩素化ポリエチレンを基本骨格に有したポリマーからシース材料を形成したので、BWR用及びPWR用のケーブルのシース材料として適用することができると共に、逆逐次法試験にも対応させることができる。更に、CRからなるシース材料と同等以上の特性を有すると共に、CSMからなるシース材料より安価なシース材料を提供することができる。

本実施例及び比較例に係る耐放射線性シース材料用のコンパウンドは、以下のようにして製造した。まず、表1に示す各化合物を実施例及び比較例毎に秤量した。次に、実施例及び比較例毎に、架橋剤としてのDCPを除く各化合物を、No.3バンバリーミキサーを用いて混練してペレット状のコンパウンドを得た(例えば、実施例1に係るコンパウンド、実施例2に係るコンパウンド等)。続いて、約60℃に保持したブレンダ中において、得られたペレット状のコンパウンドにDCPを含浸させた(比較例1及び比較例2を除く)。これにより、実施例及び比較例に係る耐放射線性シース材料用のコンパウンドをそれぞれ製造した(例えば、実施例1に係る耐放射線性シース材料用のコンパウンド、実施例2に係る耐放射線性シース材料用のコンパウンド等)。
次に、得られた耐放射線性ケーブルに対して、以下に示す各項目についての試験を実施して評価した。
試験(E−1)耐放射線性(1)(逆逐次法試験(1)):耐放射線性ケーブルを約600mmφの束に丸め、60Coγ線にて4kGy/hの線量率で760kGyの照射をした後、121℃×7日の熱老化試験を実施した。その後、試験(B)と同様に引張試験を実施した。ここで、伸びが50%以上の場合を合格とした。試験(E−2)耐放射線性(2)(逆逐次法試験(2)):耐放射線性ケーブルを約60
0mmφの束に丸め、60Coγ線にて4kGy/hの線量率で2MGyの照射をした後、140℃×9日の熱老化試験を実施した。その後、試験(B)と同様に引張試験を実施した。ここで、伸びが50%以上の場合を合格とした。

Claims (4)
- 架橋されている塩素化ポリエチレンと、前記塩素化ポリエチレン中に添加される老化防止剤と、加工助剤と、難燃剤とを有する耐放射線性シース材料において、
前記老化防止剤は、アミン系老化防止剤と硫黄系老化防止剤とを含み、前記塩素化ポリエチレン100重量部に対して1重量部以上含有し、
前記加工助剤は、石油系油、又は芳香環を含む可塑剤であり、前記塩素化ポリエチレン100重量部に対して10重量部から50重量部含有し、
前記難燃剤は、無機系の難燃剤又は有機系の難燃剤であり、前記塩素化ポリエチレン100重量部に対して2重量部から30重量部含有し、
60Coγ線にて4kGy/hの線量率で2MGyの照射をし、140℃×9日の熱老化試験を実施した後の伸びが50%以上であることを特徴とする耐放射線性シース材料。 - 前記石油系油は、アロマチック系油である請求項1に記載の耐放射線性シース材料。
- 絶縁材料が被覆された導体、又は前記絶縁材料が被覆された前記導体を複数本撚り合わせて形成される撚合わせ絶縁電線の周囲に、請求項1又は2に記載の耐放射線性シース材料を備える耐放射線性ケーブル。
- 前記耐放射線性シース材料は、前記絶縁材料の酸素指数よりも大きな酸素指数を有する請求項3に記載の耐放射線性ケーブル。
