Description
本件は2007年2月2日出願の2件の米国特許仮出願連続番号60/887,933号および60/887,928号の優先権を主張するものであるが、両出願の開示内容はそれぞれの全体がここに引例に挙げることにより(両仮出願のいずれか一方または両方に言及することで両出願の一部を構成している全ての引例を含めて)本件の一部を成すものとする。
1. 自由エネルギーを斟酌したせいで2種の互いに不相溶性の液と液の間の界面が自然に安定しているゆえに、屈折も安定している。
2. 界面は微小な力を利用して変動させることができる。これにより、毛様体筋由来の微小な力で曲率を変化させることができ、よって、光屈折を相当に大きく変動させることができる。
3. この設計は比較的簡単で、従来の眼内レンズの設計に類似している。本質的に、方形端縁が設計に組入れられて、後水晶体包の混濁化(PCO)を防止している。
レンズは真の屈折調節を行い、実質的にレンズ光屈折変化を増大させるものであり、当該技術で従来公知ではない。
(i)自分の眼のレンズをIRALと置換する必要がある患者の欠陥のある天然レンズをIRALと置換する工程と、
(ii)IRALが患者の必要に適合して眼の焦点を変動させ、例えば、網膜合焦させることができるようにするにあたり、光屈折強度を変動させる、従って、IRALの焦点変動させるという手段を採用し、IRALの光屈折強度の変化が少なくとも2ジオプターであるようにする工程とを含んでおり、
(iii)IRALは屈折率が互いに異なる複数の液を利用して液と液の境界を画定して光屈折強度を変動させ、従って、界面を変動させるようにしたことを特徴とする。

Claims (10)
- 装着者の生理学的必要の変化に応じて焦点距離を調節する、移植可能な界面の屈折調節用眼内レンズ集成体において、前記レンズ集成体は撓曲自在な光学小室およびこれと協働する触覚部を備えており、
前記光学小室はその外郭が、互いに対向して実質的に互いに平行な視覚的に透明な2枚の円盤によって画定されており、前記2枚の円盤はそれぞれの端縁で撓曲自在に連結されているとともに互いから離隔されて閉鎖状態の液体小室を画定しており、前記液体小室は屈折率が互いに異なっている第1液および第2液を包含しているとともに互いに不相溶性であって、液と液との間に球面界面またはレンズ界面を画定しており、
前記触覚部は前記光学小室の端縁に連結されているとともに前記液体小室それ自体にも連結されて、前記触覚部に力が加えられると前記液体小室を変形させて、液体界面の球面形状を変化させ、
前記触覚部に力が加えられたのに応じてレンズの焦点距離が変動し、装着者の焦点を変動させるようにしたことを特徴とする、移植可能な界面の屈折調節用眼内レンズ。 - 前記レンズ集成体は褶曲自在であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の屈折調節用眼内レンズ。
- 前記レンズ集成体は、眼内レンズ注入装置を利用して眼内に移植することができる構成になっていることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の屈折調節用眼内レンズ。
- 前記第1液の屈折率と前記第2液の屈折率の差(ΔRI)は少なくとも約0.1であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の屈折調節用眼内レンズ。
- 前記屈折率の差(ΔRI)は少なくとも約0.2であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の屈折調節用眼内レンズ。

前記触覚部は前記光学小室の端縁に連結されているとともに前記液体小室それ自体にも連結されて、前記触覚部に力が加えられると前記液体小室を変形させて、液体界面の球面形状を変化させ、
前記触覚部に力が加えられたのに応じてレンズの焦点距離が変動し、装着者の焦点を変動させるようにしたことを特徴とする、レンズ集成体。 - 前記レンズ集成体は褶曲自在であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のレンズ集成体。
- 前記レンズ集成体は、眼内レンズ注入装置を利用して眼内に移植することができる構成になっていることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載のレンズ集成体。
- 前記第1液の屈折率と前記第2液の屈折率の差(ΔRI)は少なくとも約0.1であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のレンズ集成体。
- 前記屈折率の差(ΔRI)は少なくとも約0.2であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のレンズ集成体。
