Description
Claims (2)
- 2つ以上の画像を保持するイメージングドラムを有し、イメージングドラム上への像形成と、イメージングドラム上に形成された像の媒体への転写との並列処理を行う像形成装置において、転写ロールがイメージングドラムと当接する際のイメージングドラムの回転速度を維持する方法であって、
前記イメージングドラムが前記転写ロールと当接している時に前記イメージングドラムから媒体に像を転写するためのニップを形成するステップと、
前記転写ロールと当接している間に実質的に一定のイメージングドラム回転速度モードを維持するステップと、
前記ニップに進入する前の前記媒体の先端を感知するステップと、
前記先端を検知した後の第1の所定時間後で前記媒体の先端がニップに進入する前にトルクアシストを作動して前記媒体の先端側の第1の部分が前記ニップ内に存在する期間を含む第1の所定期間だけ前記転写ロールの速度を増加させるステップと、
前記第1の所定期間が経過した後、前記媒体の前記第1の部分に続く第2の部分が前記ニップ内に存在する間は前記実質的に一定のイメージングドラム回転速度モードを再開するステップと、
前記ニップに進入する前の前記媒体の残部の後端を感知するステップと、
前記後端を検出した後の第2の所定時間後で前記媒体の残部の後端がニップから退出する前にトルクアシストを作動して前記媒体の残部が前記ニップ内に存在する期間を含む第2の所定期間だけ前記転写ロールの前記速度を減少させるステップと、
前記第2の所定期間後に前記実質的に一定のイメージングドラム回転速度モードを再開するステップと、を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記増加させるステップと減少させるステップは、媒体特性に応じたテーブルベースを用いて実質的に一定のイメージングドラム回転速度を維持するように転写ロール駆動電流を決定することを含むことを特徴とする方法。
