Description
なお、特開2005−121221号広報は、一次層として繊維状ベース材料を有する摩擦材料を開示している。この摩擦材料は、炭素質材料及び摩擦調整粒子の混合物を含む二次層を具備している。特開2005−133935号広報は、繊維状ベース材料中に高含量の繊維を有する摩擦材料を開示している。特開2005−163011号広報は、繊維質ベース材料中の摩擦材料として部分的に炭化した炭素繊維を開示している。
種々のベース材料、たとえば、布材料、織成材料、および/または不織材料などを含む非アスベスト繊維状ベース材料などは、本発明に係る摩擦材料に有用である。好適な繊維状ベース材料は、たとえば、繊維と充填材とを含む。繊維は、有機繊維、無機繊維、およびカーボン繊維でありうる。有機繊維は、アラミド繊維、ポリエステル繊維、ナイロン繊維、ポリアミド繊維、綿/セルロース繊維などでありうる。充填材は、たとえば、シリカ、珪藻土、グラファイト、アルミナ、カシュー粉などでありうる。
1.焼結されたCは、焼結されていないものよりも良好な下降曲線を有する。
2.焼結されたCのμレベルは、試験サイクル数と共に増大した。
3.未処理のCは、他の材料よりも多くの摩擦フェードを有する。
以上からわかるように、本発明に係る焼結カーボン摩擦材料は、比較の材料よりも一貫してより良好に動作する。したがって、本発明に係る繊維状ベース材料は、より高速度で比較の材料よりもはるかに良好に動作する。
4.焼結されたCは、対照Cのサンプルよりも良好な耐久性を有する。
Claims (14)
- 繊維及び充填材を含む繊維状ベース材料であって、前記繊維がアラミド繊維、カーボン繊維、及び綿繊維を含む、繊維状ベース材料を準備する工程と、
前記繊維状ベース材料をフェノール樹脂又はフェノール系樹脂で含浸して樹脂含浸繊維状ベース材料を形成する工程と、
400〜800℃の範囲内の温度で、窒素、水素、及び一酸化炭素を含む雰囲気下で前記樹脂含浸繊維状ベース材料を焼結して焼結カーボン摩擦材料を形成する工程と、
を含む、焼結カーボン摩擦材料の製造方法。 - 前記焼結が400℃〜600℃の範囲内の温度で行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維状ベース材料が、不織繊維状ベース材料である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記焼結が400℃〜550℃の範囲内の温度で行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維状ベース材料の繊維が、セルロース繊維、ガラス繊維、もしくはアクリル繊維をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維状ベース材料を含浸する工程により、40パーセント超の樹脂含浸率が得られる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維状ベース材料を含浸する工程により、60パーセント超の樹脂含浸率が得られる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維状ベース材料の充填材が、シリカ、珪藻土、グラファイト、アルミナ、カシュー粉、カーボン粒子、ニトリル、カシューナッツ油粒子、および二硫化モリブデンよりなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の充填材を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維状ベース材料が、織成繊維状ベース材料である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記焼結カーボン摩擦材料が、50体積%〜85体積%の範囲内の空隙体積を有し、かつ平均サイズ平均値で直径約5〜約100ミクロンの範囲内の細孔を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記焼結カーボン摩擦材料が、60体積%〜85体積%の範囲内の空隙体積を有し、かつ平均サイズ平均値で直径5〜約50ミクロンの範囲内の細孔を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記焼結カーボン摩擦材料が、65体積%〜85体積%の範囲内の空隙体積を有し、かつ平均サイズ平均値で直径約5〜約25ミクロンの範囲内の細孔を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維状ベース材料が、約5〜約75重量%のアラミド繊維と、約5〜約75重量%の綿繊維と、約5〜約75重量%のカーボン繊維と、約5〜約75重量%の充填材とを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記焼結カーボン摩擦材料をトランスミッションバンド、クラッチフェーシング、ブレーキシューライニング、又はシンクロナイザーに利用する、請求項1に記載の方法。
