Description
(a)偏光フィルム(偏光子)の製造
厚さ75μmのポリビニルアルコールフィルムをガイドロールを用いて動かしながら、ヨウ素とヨウ化カリウムの染色液に浸漬して染めた後、約3〜5倍延伸処理した。続いて、前記フィルムをホウ酸とヨウ化カリウムの槽中に投入して架橋処理して、80℃で5〜8分間乾燥して偏光フィルムを得た。
純水にアセトアセチル基(5%)を含有するポリビニルアルコール(平均重合度2000、鹸化度94%)を溶かして3.8%の水溶液を製造した。
上記で製造した接着剤を用いて、ポリビニルアルコール系偏光フィルムの両面に保護フィルムとして厚さ80μmの鹸化処理されたトリアセチルセルロース(TAC)フィルムを接着させてラミネートした後、乾燥して偏光板を製造した。
実施例1の接着剤組成物のうち1Mの塩酸を用いて混合溶液のpHを4に調節することを除いては実施例1と同一の方法によって偏光板を製造した。
実施例1の接着剤組成物のうち架橋剤をチタニウムアミン錯体(製品名−TYZOR TE、会社名−Dupont)を用いることを除いては実施例1と同一の方法によって偏光板を製造した。
実施例1の接着剤組成物をそのまま用いて偏光板は次のような方法によって製造した。
接着剤組成物のうち塩酸を用いてpHを調節しないことを除いて、実施例1と同一の方法によって偏光板を製造した。
接着剤組成物のうち塩酸を用いてpHを調節しないことを除いて、実施例3と同一の方法によって偏光板を製造した。
比較例1の接着剤組成物のうち架橋剤としてエチレンジアミンを用いることを除いては比較例1と同一の方法によって偏光板を製造した。
接着剤組成物として架橋剤を用いず、実施例1で提示したポリビニルアルコール水溶液だけを用いることを除いては実施例1と同一の方法によって偏光板を製造した。
<ムラ評価>
実施例1〜4および比較例1〜4で得られた偏光板を120×120mm2の大きさで切った。2つの偏光板を重なるが、この時、偏光フィルムの延伸方向が互いに直交になるように重なった。以後、LCDパネルに入るバックライト上に直交になった偏光板を載せた後、ムラ発生の有無を評価した。
接着剤を調剤後10分間攪拌し、接着剤50mLを100mLバイアルに入れてゲル化するにかかる時間を測定した。ゲル化の確認は接着剤が糸のように長く引き伸ばすような状態になることを目視確認した。保存安定性は長ければ長いほど好ましく、工程において容易に適用するためには最小24時間以上、より好ましくは3日以上が必要である。
ムラ評価と同様な方法によって偏光板を製造した後、アクリレート系列の粘着剤を偏光板のトリアセチルセルロース(TAC)フィルムの一面に塗布した。このように得られた偏光板を50×80mm2の大きさで切った。この時、偏光フィルムの延伸方向を長軸とし、それに直交する方向を短軸とした。前記塗布された粘着剤によって、前記偏光板をガラスに積層した後の耐水性は60℃温度および100%の相対湿度(恒温槽利用)で8時間放置した時の剥離程度を測定した。剥離程度は偏光板の端部から剥離した量を測定し、これをサンプルの大きさに対する比率で確認した。剥離程度は小さいほど好ましい。
Claims (14)
- アセトアセチル基を含有するポリビニルアルコール系樹脂およびアミン系配位子を含む金属錯体を含む偏光板用接着剤であって、pH2から9を有する水溶液であり、前記アミン系配位子を含む金属錯体において、前記金属はジルコニウム(Zr)またはチタニウム(Ti)である、接着剤。
- 前記偏光板用接着剤は、前記アセトアセチル基を含有するポリビニルアルコール系樹脂100重量部および前記アミン系配位子を含む金属錯体1〜50重量部を含む、請求項1に記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- 前記水溶液のpHは、硝酸、塩酸、硫酸、および酢酸のうち選択される1種以上の酸で調節される、請求項1に記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- 前記アセトアセチル基を含有するポリビニルアルコール系樹脂は、前記アセトアセチル基を0.1〜30モル%含む、請求項1に記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- 前記金属錯体は、ジルコニウム(Zr)またはチタニウム(Ti)に一級アミン、二級アミン、三級アミン、および水酸化アンモニウムからなる群より選択される1種以上のアミン基を配位子として含む、請求項1に記載の偏光板用接着剤。
- アセトアセチル基を含有するポリビニルアルコール系樹脂およびアミン系配位子を含む金属錯体を混合して接着剤水溶液を製造する段階;及び
pH調節剤を用いて前記接着剤水溶液のpHを2から9の範囲に調節する段階
を含み、
前記アミン系配位子を含む金属錯体において、前記金属はジルコニウム(Zr)またはチタニウム(Ti)である、偏光板用接着剤の製造方法。 - 前記接着剤水溶液を製造する段階では、前記アセトアセチル基を含有するポリビニルアルコール系樹脂100重量部および前記アミン系配位子を含む金属錯体1〜50重量部を混合して製造する、請求項6に記載の偏光板用接着剤の製造方法。
- 前記pH調節剤は、硝酸、塩酸、硫酸、および酢酸のうち選択される1種以上の酸である、請求項6に記載の偏光板用接着剤の製造方法。
- 前記アセトアセチル基を含有するポリビニルアルコール系樹脂は、前記アセトアセチル基を0.1〜30モル%含む、請求項6に記載の偏光板用接着剤の製造方法。
- 前記金属錯体は、ジルコニウム(Zr)またはチタニウム(Ti)に一級アミン、二級アミン、三級アミン、および水酸化アンモニウムからなる群より選択される1種以上のアミン基を配位子として含む、請求項6に記載の偏光板用接着剤の製造方法。
- 少なくとも一面に請求項1による偏光板用接着剤で形成された接着剤層をさらに含む偏光子。
- 偏光子、透明保護フィルム、および前記偏光子と前記透明保護フィルムとの間に位置して請求項1による偏光板用接着剤で形成された接着剤層を含む偏光板。
- 請求項12に記載の偏光板を含むディスプレイ装置。
- 前記透明保護フィルムが、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリエチレンナフタレート、トリアセチルセルロース、ポリメチルメタクリレート、アクリロニトリル−スチレン共重合体、ポリカーボネート、およびシクロオレフィンからなる群から選択される1つ又は複数から製造されるフィルムである、請求項12に記載の偏光板。
