Description
(1)燃料極において:
H2→2H++2e−又はH2+2OH−→2H2O+2e−;
(2)空気極において:
1/2 O2+2H++2e−→H2O又は1/2 O2+H2O+2e−→2OH−。
− これらの触媒は、満足する触媒作用を得るには多くの量が必要なので費用も嵩み、潜在的環境汚染物質でもある生成物となる。
− これらの触媒は、室温のような低い温度では効率が低く、それによって電池が始動し難くなることがある。
− 分極相の過程では、時間の関数として電極から放出される電流に対応する曲線、i=f(t)が成立する;及び
− S字形i=f(t)曲線が平坦域の開始を示したならば直ちに電位の印加を停止してもよく、曲線に平坦域が現われることは、電極の表面がバイオフィルムで最も適切に被覆されていることを意味する。従って、他の状態調節を何等行なう必要はなく、電極は直ちに最も適切に使用され得る。
− 空気極に関しては、河川水、井戸水のような曝気された天然水、並びに開放冷却装置から来る水及び精製装置又は浄化装置から来る水のような工業用の曝気された非滅菌水;
− 燃料極に関しては、閉鎖された非滅菌回路から来る工業用水のような嫌気性天然水、又は浄化装置若しくは精製装置から来る嫌気性水。
− 電池に入るガスの水分を管理することによる、即ちバイオフィルムが備え付けられた区画又は区画類に供給されるガス流又はガス流類が、前記バイオフィルムを再生できるような水分を有するということ;
− 或いは、バイオフィルムが備え付けられた区画又は区画類に供給されるガス流又はガス流類と同時並行して水流を提供することであり、前記水の流れは前記バイオフィルムを再生するためのものである;
− 或いは、そうでなければ、電池が水素/酸素電池のとき反応によって生成する水による。
第1系列の試験の特性値は次の通りであった:
− 分極電位:−0.10V/SCE;
− 分極時間:15日;
− 空気極側で循環する流体:海水;
− 燃料極側で循環する流体:海水;
− 空気極の作動面積:9cm2。
第1系列の試験の特性値は次の通りであった:
− 分極電位:−0.10V/SCE;
− 分極時間:15日;
− 空気極側で循環する流体:海水;
− 燃料極側で循環する流体:蒸留水+NaOH(pH=12.5);
− 空気極の作動面積:9cm2。
第1系列の試験の特性値は次の通りであった:
− 分極電位:−0.30V/SCE;
− 分極時間:17日;
− 空気極側で循環する流体:海水;
− 燃料極側で循環する流体:蒸留水+NaOH(pH塩基=12.5);
− 空気極の作動面積:1.8cm2。
Claims (6)
- 燃料電池の両電極のうち少なくとも片方(空気極及び/又は燃料極)の処理方法であって、
前記電池が作動される前に、且つ前記電極が前記電池に取り付けられる前に又は後に、
(i)バイオフィルムを成長させることができる媒体の中に前記電極を浸漬することにより前記電極の少なくとも表面の一部分にバイオフィルムを形成する段階を含み、前記バイオフィルムは前記電極での反応を触媒するためのものであり、さらに
(ii)前記バイオフィルムを形成すると同時に前記電極を分極電位下におく段階を含む、方法。 - バイオフィルムを成長させることができる前記媒体が:
− 河川水又は井戸水;
− 工業用水、海水、及び培養液から誘導される水、
から選ばれることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の処理方法。 - バイオフィルムを成長させることができる前記媒体が、海水であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の処理方法。
- バイオフィルムを成長させることができる前記媒体が、循環媒体であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかの1項に記載の処理方法。
- 前記電極が空気極であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかの1項に記載の処理方法。
- 前記空気極に印加される分極電位が、飽和カロメル参照電極(SCE)を基準として−0.5V〜0.0Vの範囲の値を有することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
