Claims (1)
- 内燃機関の排気系に設けられ、排気を浄化する触媒と、
前記触媒の上流側および下流側に設けられ、排気中の空燃比を計測する空燃比センサと、
目標空燃比に応じて前記空燃比を制御する空燃比制御手段と、
前記空燃比の変動に応じて、前記触媒の上流側空燃比および下流側空燃比を用いて、前記触媒の劣化状態を表す触媒モデルのパラメータを同定する同定手段と、
前記同定されたパラメータに基づき、前記触媒の劣化を判定する劣化判定手段とを有し、
前記触媒モデルがY=βXで表され、
ここで、Xは前記上流側空燃比であり、Yは前記下流側空燃比であり、βは前記パラメータであり、
前記劣化判定手段が、前記触媒の酸素吸着量、触媒温度、または前記目標空燃比に応じてしきい値を設定し、前記パラメータと該しきい値とを比較して前記触媒の劣化を判定し、前記しきい値は、前記上流側空燃比に応じた特性をもつベースしきい値に、前記目標空燃比が小さいほど大きい値になるよう設定され、前記酸素吸着量が大きいほど大きい値になるように設定される補正係数を乗ずることにより算出される、
