Abstract
【解決手段】劣化判定装置1は、上流側および下流側の酸素濃度パラメータKACT1,KACT2を検出する上流側および下流側の酸素濃度パラメータセンサ12,13を有し、前者12から触媒7に流入する排ガスの還元雰囲気への切換後において、上流側酸素濃度パラメータKACT1が所定値KACTREFを超えてから所定時間が経過したときに検出された比較用の上流側酸素濃度パラメータsumkact1と、下流側酸素濃度パラメータKACT2が所定値KACTREFを超えてから所定時間が経過したときに検出された比較用の下流側酸素濃度パラメータsumkact2との比較結果に基づき、触媒7の劣化を判定する(ステップ12〜17)。

Claims (4)
- 内燃機関の排気通路に設けられ、前記内燃機関の排ガスが酸化雰囲気のときに排ガス中の酸素を貯蔵する酸素貯蔵能力を有し、当該貯蔵した酸素を排ガスが還元雰囲気のときに放出するとともに、排ガスを浄化する触媒の劣化を判定する触媒の劣化判定装置であって、
前記排気通路の前記触媒よりも上流側における排ガス中の酸素濃度を表す上流側酸素濃度パラメータを検出する上流側酸素濃度パラメータセンサと、
前記排気通路の前記触媒よりも下流側における排ガス中の酸素濃度を表す下流側酸素濃度パラメータを検出する下流側酸素濃度パラメータセンサと、
前記上流側酸素濃度パラメータセンサを通って前記触媒に流入する排ガスを、酸化雰囲気と還元雰囲気に制御可能な制御手段と、
当該制御手段により排ガスが酸化雰囲気から還元雰囲気に切り換えられた後において、前記上流側酸素濃度パラメータが所定値を超えてから所定時間が経過したときに検出された比較用の前記上流側酸素濃度パラメータと、前記下流側酸素濃度パラメータが前記所定値を超えてから前記所定時間が経過したときに検出された比較用の前記下流側酸素濃度パラメータとの比較結果に基づいて、前記触媒の劣化を判定する劣化判定手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする触媒の劣化判定装置。 - 前記排ガスの切換後、前記下流側酸素濃度パラメータが定常状態に達したか否かを判定する定常状態判定手段をさらに備え、
前記比較用の上流側および下流側の酸素濃度パラメータは、前記排ガスの切換後、前記下流側酸素濃度パラメータが定常状態に達したと判定されるまでの期間内に検出されたものであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の触媒の劣化判定装置。 - 前記比較用の上流側酸素濃度パラメータは、前記上流側酸素濃度パラメータが前記所定値を超えてから所定周期で検出された複数の前記上流側酸素濃度パラメータであり、
前記比較用の下流側酸素濃度パラメータは、前記下流側酸素濃度パラメータが前記所定値を超えてから前記所定周期で検出された、前記複数の上流側酸素濃度パラメータと同じ数の複数の前記下流側酸素濃度パラメータであることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の触媒の劣化判定装置。 - 前記比較用の上流側酸素濃度パラメータとして、前記複数の上流側酸素濃度パラメータの積算値を算出する上流側酸素濃度パラメータ積算値算出手段と、
前記比較用の下流側酸素濃度パラメータとして、前記複数の下流側酸素濃度パラメータの積算値を算出する下流側酸素濃度パラメータ積算値算出手段と、をさらに備え、
前記劣化判定手段は、前記劣化判定を、前記上流側酸素濃度パラメータの積算値と前記下流側酸素濃度パラメータの積算値との比較結果に基づいて行うことを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の触媒の劣化判定装置。
