図2(a)に素子構成を示した。図2(a)は、基板200上に第1の発光素子210と第2の発光素子220が直列に積層された、本発明の発光素子の構成例である。第1の発光素子210は、第1の陽極211と第1の陰極213の間に第1の発光素子の発光層212を有する構造であり、また、第2の発光素子220は、第2の陽極221と第2の陰極223の間に第2の発光素子の発光層222を有する構造である。
図3(a)に素子構成を示した。図3(a)は、基板300上に第1の発光素子310と第2の発光素子320が直列に積層された、本発明の発光素子の構成例である。第1の発光素子310は、第1の陽極311と第1の陰極313の間に第1の発光素子の発光層312を有する構造であり、また、第2の発光素子320は、第2の陽極321と第2の陰極323の間に第2の発光素子の発光層322を有する構造である。
次に、以下では、本発明の発光素子の構成、特に図1(a)における第1の発光素子110と第2の発光素子120に関し、用いることのできる材料や素子構造を説明する。本発明の発光素子は、少なくとも図1(a)に示した構成であればよいが、第1の陽極111と第1の発光素子の発光層112との間、および第2の陽極121と第2の発光素子の発光層122との間には、ホール注入層および/またはホール輸送層を挿入していても良い。また、第1の陰極113と第1の発光素子の発光層112との間、および第2の陰極123と第2の発光素子の発光層122との間には、電子注入層および/または電子輸送層を挿入していても良い。

Claims (10)
- 第1の陽極と第1の陰極との間に第1の発光層を有する第1の発光素子と、第2の陽極と第2の陰極との間に第2の発光層を有する第2の発光素子とが直列に積層された発光装置であって、
前記第1の陰極と前記第2の陽極とは接しており、
前記第1の発光素子は、補色の関係にある2種の発光色からなる第1の発光色を示し、
前記第2の発光素子は、補色の関係にある2種の発光色からなる第2の発光色を示し、
前記第2の発光色の2種の発光色は前記第1の発光色における2種の発光色とは異なり、
前記第1の発光色と前記第2の発光色とを合わせることにより白色発光を示すことを特徴とする発光装置。 - 第1の陽極と第1の陰極との間に第1の発光層を有する第1の発光素子と、第2の陽極と第2の陰極との間に第2の発光層を有する第2の発光素子とが直列に積層された発光装置であって、
前記第1の陰極と前記第2の陽極とは接しており、
前記第1の発光素子または前記第2の発光素子のいずれか一方は、青色から青緑色の波長領域および黄色から橙色の波長領域の両方にピークを有する第1の発光スペクトルを示し、
他方は、青緑色から緑色の波長領域および橙色から赤色の波長領域の両方にピークを有する第2の発光スペクトルを示し、
前記第1の発光スペクトルと前記第2の発光スペクトルとを合わせることにより白色発光を示すことを特徴とする発光装置。 - 第1の陽極と第1の陰極との間に第1の発光層を有する第1の発光素子と、第2の陽極と第2の陰極との間に第2の発光層を有する第2の発光素子とが直列に積層された発光装置であって、
前記第1の陰極と前記第2の陽極は接しており、
前記第1の発光素子または前記第2の発光素子のいずれか一方は、430nm〜480nmの波長領域および550nm〜600nmの波長領域の両方にピークを有する第1の発光スペクトルを示し、
他方は、480〜550nmの波長領域および600nm〜680nmの波長領域の両方にピークを有する第2の発光スペクトルを示し、
前記第1の発光スペクトルと前記第2の発光スペクトルとを合わせることにより白色発光を示すことを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一項において、
前記第1の発光層は、第3の発光層と、前記第3の発光層とは異なる発光色を示す第4の発光層と、を有することを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項4において、
前記第3の発光層と前記第4の発光層とが、互いに接して設けられていることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか一項において、
前記第2の発光層は、第5の発光層と、前記第5の発光層とは異なる発光色を示す第6の発光層と、を有することを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項6において、
前記第5の発光層と前記第6の発光層とが、互いに接して設けられていることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか一項において、
前記第2の陽極は、ホール輸送性の化合物と、酸化モリブデンとを含むことを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか一項において、
前記第2の陽極は、バナジルフタロシアニンを含むことを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項9のいずれか一項において、
前記第1の発光層および前記第2の発光層のいずれか一方は、蛍光を発光し、他方は燐光を発光することを特徴とする発光装置。
