Description
図1に示すように、本実施形態の円筒型リチウム二次電池20は、有底円筒状でニッケルメッキが施されたスチール製の電池缶の上側が電池蓋で封口された電池容器7を有している。電池容器7内には、帯状の正負極板がセパレータを介して断面渦巻状に捲回された電極群6が収容されている。
次に、本実施形態のリチウム二次電池20の作用等について説明する。
実施例1では、電池の外側に、蓋側シート部21、側面シート部22、底面シート部23を有する吸油性シートを配置した(装着)リチウム二次電池20を作製した(図2参照)。
比較例1では、吸油性シートを配置しない(非装着)リチウム二次電池を作製した。すなわち、比較例1は、従来のリチウム二次電池である。
実施例及び比較例の各電池について、過充電により電池内圧を高めることで、電池蓋に配した開裂弁11、電池容器7の内底面に形成した開裂弁15を強制的に作動させ漏液状態を作り出し、そのときの漏液状況を目視にて評価した。漏液状況の試験結果を下表1に示す。

Claims (4)
- 密閉された電池容器を有する非水電解液二次電池において、前記電池容器の外側に、非水電解液を吸収する液体吸収性シートが配置されており、前記液体吸収性シートは少なくとも前記電池容器の側面側に開口が形成されていることを特徴とする非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記液体吸収性シートは、前記電池容器の蓋側に配置された第1のシート部と、前記電池容器の側面側に配置され前記開口が形成された第2のシート部とを有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記液体吸収性シートは、更に、前記電池容器の前記蓋とは反対側に配置された第3のシート部を有していることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記液体吸収性シートは、電池1セル当たりの非水電解液量を吸収する吸収力を有するものであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の非水電解液二次電池。
