Description
本発明は、口内および/または口周辺の歯および骨の構造を介して振動を伝達する方法および装置に関する。
米国においては、3100万人を超える人(人口の約13%)が、聴覚障害を患っている。慢性状態としての聴覚障害の発生率は、心臓疾患の発生率に匹敵し、心臓疾患と同様に、聴覚障害の発生率は、年齢に伴って急激に増加する。
インプラントを介し、電子的アセンブリおよび/またはトランスデューサアセンブリを介して振動を伝達する方法および装置が、本明細書中に開示される。アセンブリは、インプラント内またはインプラント上にしっかりと取り付けられたり、接着されたり、可逆的に接続されたり、そうでなければ埋め込まれたりして、聴覚アセンブリを形成し得る。電子的アセンブリおよびトランスデューサアセンブリは、直接的または受信器を介してのいずれかで、入来する音を受信し、信号を処理および増幅し、歯あるいは例えば上顎骨構造、下顎骨構造または口蓋骨構造等のその他の骨構造に結合された振動トランスデューサ要素を介して、処理された音を伝達し得る。

Claims (26)
- 骨または組織を介して振動を伝達することにより、患者の聴力を助ける装置であって、
歯肉線の下に配置されるように構成されたインプラントヘッドとネジ切り部分とを有するインプラントと、
該患者の口内に配置するような大きさのハウジングであって、該ハウジングは、該患者の現存の1本または複数本の歯に接触するように構成されており、該ハウジングは、該患者に取り付けられ、該ハウジングは、該インプラントへの固定によって所定の位置に維持される、ハウジングと、
該ハウジング内または該ハウジング上に配置され、該ハウジングから取り外し可能な作動可能トランスデューサであって、該トランスデューサは、該トランスデューサが該インプラントヘッドと振動を連絡するように、該インプラントに結合され、該トランスデューサは、該トランスデューサが該インプラントヘッドと振動を連絡しないように、該インプラントヘッドから取り外し可能である、作動可能トランスデューサと
を含む、装置。 - 前記ハウジングは、前記インプラントヘッドへの電磁的結合と、該インプラントヘッドへの機械的結合と、該インプラントヘッドへの化学的結合とのうちの1つを介して該インプラントヘッドに結合される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ハウジング内または該ハウジング上に配置された電子的アセンブリをさらに含み、該電子的アセンブリは、前記トランスデューサの振動を制御する電子回路を含み、該電子的アセンブリは、前記トランスデューサと通信する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記電子的アセンブリは、前記ハウジング内に封入される、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記電子的アセンブリは、前記トランスデューサと電気的な連絡をする電源をさらに含む、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記電子的アセンブリは、前記トランスデューサと電気的な連絡をするプロセッサをさらに含む、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記電子的アセンブリは、聴覚信号を受信するマイクロフォンをさらに含み、該マイクロフォンは、前記プロセッサと電気的な連絡をする、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記電子的アセンブリは、外部に配置された送信器アセンブリと無線通信する受信器をさらに含む、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記作動可能トランスデューサは、該トランスデューサと前記インプラントヘッドの表面との接触を維持する接着層を介して該インプラントヘッドの表面と振動を連絡する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ハウジングは、前記インプラントヘッドの上の窪みに位置するように構成されたボールを含む、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記インプラントヘッドは、第1の磁気極性によって荷電され、前記ハウジングは、反対の磁気極性によって荷電される、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記トランスデューサ上にあり、かつ、該ハウジング内にある一対のアームをさらに含み、該一対のアームは、前記インプラントヘッドに対して該トランスデューサを維持するように、該インプラントヘッド上のトッププレートに係合する、請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの付勢要素は、バネを含む、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記ハウジングは、前記インプラントヘッドの中に挿入される、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記トランスデューサを前記インプラントヘッドに装着するための2つのアームを有するクリップを含み、該2つのアームを有するクリップの一方のアームは、該インプラントヘッドにおける開口部にはめ込まれ、該2つのアームを有するクリップの他方のアームは、該トランスデューサが配置されるプレートを含む、請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記ハウジングは、ネジを用いて前記インプラントヘッドに固定される、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記トランスデューサと前記インプラントヘッドとの間の界面層をさらに含み、該界面層を介して振動の連絡が維持される、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記界面層は、接着層を含む、請求項17に記載の装置。
- 1つ以上の歯科インプラントを介して振動を伝達するシステムであって、
患者の歯肉線の下に配置されるように構成されたネジ切り部分を含む1つ以上の歯科インプラントと、
該患者の口内に配置するような大きさのハウジングであって、該ハウジングは、該患者の現存の1本または複数本の歯に接触するように構成されており、該ハウジングは、該患者に取り付けられ、該ハウジングは、該1つ以上のインプラントへの固定によって所定の位置に維持される、ハウジングと、
該ハウジング内または該ハウジング上に配置され、該患者の該口内に配置するような大きさの作動可能トランスデューサであって、該トランスデューサは、該トランスデューサが該1つ以上のインプラントと振動を連絡するように該1つ以上の歯科インプラントに結合され、該トランスデューサは、該トランスデューサが該1つ以上のインプラントと振動を連絡しないように、該1つ以上の歯科インプラントから取り外し可能である、作動可能トランスデューサと
を含む、システム。 - 前記歯科インプラントは、前記作動可能トランスデューサに磁気的に固定される、請求項19に記載のシステム。
- 前記歯科インプラントは、前記作動可能トランスデューサに機械的に固定される、請求項19に記載のシステム。
- 前記歯科インプラントは、前記作動可能トランスデューサに化学的に固定される、請求項19に記載のシステム。
- 前記インプラントは、スナップフィットハウジングを受容する露出ヘッドを含む、請求項19に記載のシステム。
- 前記1つ以上の歯科インプラントは、プロセッサをさらに含み、該1つ以上の歯科インプラントは、該プロセッサが、耳鳴りが発生する少なくとも1つの予めプログラムされた周波数において前記トランスデューサを振動させるように前記システムを制御することにより、耳鳴りを治療するように動作可能である、請求項19に記載のシステム。
- 前記1つ以上の歯科インプラントは、プロセッサと、聴覚信号を受信するマイクロフォンとをさらに含み、該1つ以上の歯科インプラントは、該プロセッサが、該受信された聴覚信号の周波数シフトと遅延聴覚フィードバックとを提供するように前記システムを制御することにより、どもりを治療するように動作可能である、請求項19に記載のシステム。
- 骨または組織を介して振動を伝達することにより、患者の聴力を助ける装置であって、
骨肉線の下に配置されるように構成されたインプラントヘッドとネジ切り部分とを有するインプラントと、
該患者の口内に配置するような大きさのハウジングであって、該ハウジングは、800立方ミリメートル未満の体積を有し、該ハウジングは、該患者に取り付けられ、該ハウジングは、該インプラントへの固定によって所定の位置に維持される、ハウジングと、
該ハウジング内または該ハウジング上に配置され、該ハウジングから取り外し可能な作動可能トランスデューサであって、該トランスデューサは、該トランスデューサが該インプラントヘッドと振動を連絡するように、該インプラントに結合され、該トランスデューサは、該トランスデューサが該インプラントヘッドと振動を連絡しないように、該インプラントヘッドから取り外し可能である、作動可能トランスデューサと
を含む、装置。
