Description

先端シャフトの基端部38に連結されており、基端部38は先端方向にバルーン40へ延びている。先端シャフトの基端部38は、外管144および内管142を含む。基端シャフト30は、好ましくは約30.48センチメートル(約12インチ)の長さを有し、ハイポチューブシャフト32は約81.28センチメートル(32インチ)の長さを有することが好ましい。
ポチューブ壁を貫通し、かつ螺旋状の切れ目領域138の長さにわたって切れ目同士の間にあるストランド距離を有する1本の螺旋状の切れ目として見え得る。一実施形態において、ストランド間距離は、螺旋の長さにわたってほぼ一定である。この実施形態においては、出願人は、螺旋状の切れ目が、先端距離が増大すると管の柔軟性を増大するように作用する累積作用を有すると考える。別の実施形態においては、先端位置が増大するにつれてストランド間距離は減少する。この実施形態においては、出願人は、単位長さあたりの柔軟性は増大し、十分に小さいストランド間距離を与えれば、ばねの柔軟性に近づくことが可能と考える。さらに別の実施形態においては、先端位置が増大するにつれて管壁内への切れ目の深さが増大する。この実施形態において、螺旋の基端部は、管壁の一部のみに延びる切れ目を有し、切れ目は中間領域においてはより長く延び、先端領域においては管壁を完全に貫通して延びる。出願人は、この実施形態は、先端に向かって増大する単位長さあたりの柔軟性を螺旋の長さにわたってもたらすと考える。
408はマニホルド402内でマニホルド402に接合される。別の実施形態においては、コアワイヤ408はマニホルド内で接合されない。コアワイヤの先端部422は、中間領域管410の基端部と基端チューブまたはシース406との間に固定され得る。基端チューブ406は、好ましくは、流体送配管腔、例えば膨張流体管腔として働き得る非閉塞領域424を備える。中間領域管410は、好ましくは非閉塞領域426を備え、非閉塞領域426は領域424の連続部であり、かつ膨張流体管腔として働き得る。一実施形態において、コアワイヤ408は基端チューブ406の中間領域に接合されるのではなく、浮動可能にされる。コアワイヤ408を形成するための好ましい材料は、ステレンス鋼およびニチノールである。一実施形態において、基端チューブ406はPEEKである。一実施形態において、チューブ406は、周囲にブレードを有する内層と、該ブレードの周囲の外層とを備える。中間領域管410は、好ましくはハイポチューブから形成される。
Claims (5)

基端ハイポチューブシャフトであって、壁と、その内部を貫通する管腔と、前記先端管状シャフトの前記基端部に連結された先端部と、を有する基端ハイポチューブシャフトと、を備え、
前記基端ハイポチューブシャフトは、前記先端管状シャフトの前記基端部に近接する位置において前記基端ハイポチューブシャフトの前記壁に切り込まれた少なくとも1つの螺旋状の切れ目領域を有する、カテーテル。 - 前記螺旋状の切れ目領域の切れ目が前記基端ハイポチューブシャフトの前記壁を完全に貫通して延び、さらに、前記螺旋状の切れ目領域上に配置されたポリマースリーブを備える請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記螺旋状の切れ目領域が、ある全長とストランド間距離とを有し、前記ストランド間距離は前記螺旋状の切れ目領域の全長にわたって一定である請求項2に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記螺旋状の切れ目領域が、ある全長とストランド間距離とを有し、前記ストランド間距離は、前記カテーテルの柔軟性が前記全長にわたり先端に向かって減少するように前記螺旋状の切れ目領域の全長にわたって先端に向かって減少している、請求項2に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記基端ハイポチューブシャフトが先端領域を備え、少なくとも1つの螺旋状の切れ目が前記先端領域の前記壁に切り込まれている請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
