Abstract

Description
用において、従来のカテーテルは、拘束されていない部分において大きな跳ね返りまたはホイッピングを示す。これは、手術室においてカテーテルの操作を幾分困難にすることがある。カテーテルが基端ハイポチューブ部の利点を有し、かつ既存のハイポチューブシャフトの跳ね返り有さないことが望ましいであろうであろう。
先端シャフトの基端部38に連結されており、基端部38は先端方向にバルーン40へ延びている。先端シャフトの基端部38は、外管144および内管142を含む。基端シャフト30は、好ましくは約30.48センチメートル(約12インチ)の長さを有し、ハイポチューブシャフト32は約81.28センチメートル(32インチ)の長さを有することが好ましい。
ポチューブ壁を貫通し、かつ螺旋状の切れ目領域138の長さにわたって切れ目同士の間にあるストランド距離を有する1本の螺旋状の切れ目として見え得る。一実施形態において、ストランド間距離は、螺旋の長さにわたってほぼ一定である。この実施形態においては、出願人は、螺旋状の切れ目が、先端距離が増大すると管の柔軟性を増大するように作用する累積作用を有すると考える。別の実施形態においては、先端位置が増大するにつれてストランド間距離は減少する。この実施形態においては、出願人は、単位長さあたりの柔軟性は増大し、十分に小さいストランド間距離を与えれば、ばねの柔軟性に近づくことが可能と考える。さらに別の実施形態においては、先端位置が増大するにつれて管壁内への切れ目の深さが増大する。この実施形態において、螺旋の基端部は、管壁の一部のみに延びる切れ目を有し、切れ目は中間領域においてはより長く延び、先端領域においては管壁を完全に貫通して延びる。出願人は、この実施形態は、先端に向かって増大する単位長さあたりの柔軟性を螺旋の長さにわたってもたらすと考える。

Claims (10)
- 基端部と、内部を貫通する管腔とを有する先端管状シャフトと、
壁と、該シャフト内部を貫通する管腔と、前記先端管状シャフトの基端に連結された先端とを有する基端ハイポチューブシャフトとを備え、前記ハイポチューブシャフトが、先端管の基端付近において前記管状シャフトの壁に切り込まれた少なくとも1つの螺旋状の切れ目を有するカテーテル。 - 前記螺旋状の切れ目が前記管状シャフト壁内に延び、さらに、前記螺旋状の切れ目上に配置されたポリマースリーブを備える請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記螺旋状の切れ目が、ある全長とストランド間距離とを有し、前記ストランド間距離は前記螺旋の全長にわたってほぼ一定である請求項2に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記螺旋状の切れ目が、ある全長とストランド間距離とを有し、前記ストランド間距離が前記螺旋の全長にわたって先端に向かって減少する請求項2に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記ハイポチューブシャフトが先端領域を備え、少なくとも1つの螺旋状の切れ目が前記先端領域の前記壁に切り込まれている請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 管状ハイポチューブ領域を備えるある長さを有するカテーテルサブアセンブリであって、前記ハイポチューブ領域が、管状壁と、前記長さにわたって延びかつ前記壁に切り込まれた少なくとも1つの切れ目とを有するカテーテルサブアセンブリ。
- 前記切れ目が前記壁に切り込まれた螺旋状の切れ目である請求項6に記載のカテーテル構成部品。
- 前記切れ目が前記管壁内に延び、かつ前記サブアセンブリ
は、前記長さにわたって配置されたポリマースリーブを備える請求項7に記載のカテーテルサブアセンブリ。 - 前記螺旋状の切れ目が少なくとも1つの螺旋ストランドから形成され、前記螺旋ストランドがストランド間の間隔を有し、かつ、前記柔軟性が前記螺旋状の切れ目にわたって先端方向に増大するように前記ストランド間の間隔が前記螺旋状の切れ目にわたって先端方向に減少する請求項8に記載のカテーテルサブアセンブリ。
- 螺旋状の切れ目を有する基端ハイポチューブの領域が独立して形成され、次いで基端ハイポチューブの残りの部分に接合される請求項1に記載のカテーテル構成部品。
