Claims (5)
- 励起光源および増幅用光ファイバを各々含む複数の増幅ユニットが光学的に縦続接続されてなる光増幅器であって、
励起光源からの励起光が増幅用光ファイバに供給される供給タイミングが、信号光が増幅用光ファイバに入力される入力タイミングに対し、前記増幅ユニットの少なくとも一つは、前であり、他の増幅ユニットの一つは、後であり、全体として過渡応答を低減するように設定されている
ことを特徴とする光増幅器。
- 前記複数の増幅ユニットのうちの一つの増幅ユニットは前記供給タイミングを遅延させる遅延手段を有し、
前記複数の増幅ユニットのうちの何れかの増幅ユニットの増幅用光ファイバとその後段の他の増幅ユニットの増幅用光ファイバとの間に信号光の入力を遅らせる遅延媒体を有する
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の光増幅器。 - 前記励起光源を制御する制御回路を有し、
前記遅延手段は前記制御回路内で前記供給タイミングを制御する遅延回路である
ことを特徴とする請求項2記載の光増幅器。 - 光増幅器又は前記増幅ユニットに入力される入力光の一部を分岐する分岐手段と、前記分岐手段からの入力光の一部をモニタする入力モニタとを有し、
前記遅延手段は、遅延時間を確保するためのものであり、前記分岐手段と前記入力モニタとの間に設けられた遅延ファイバである
ことを特徴とする請求項2記載の光増幅器。 - 前記複数の増幅ユニットのうちの何れか2つの増幅ユニットそれぞれに含まれる増幅用光ファイバの間に、増幅された光を1μ秒以上遅延させる光部品を有し、
前記遅延手段は、前記光部品での遅延時間を補完する遅延時間を有するように設定されている
ことを特徴とする請求項2記載の光増幅器。
