Description
Claims (7)
- 励起光が供給され被増幅光を光増幅し得る増幅用光ファイバと、
この増幅用光ファイバに供給すべき励起光を出力する励起光源と、
第1ポート、第2ポート及び前記被増幅光を入力する被増幅光入力ポートを含む複数のポートそれぞれに入力した光を合波して共通ポートから出力することが可能であり、逆に前記共通ポートから入力した光を前記複数のポートに出力することが可能であり、前記第1ポートに入力された励起光を前記共通ポートから前記増幅用光ファイバへ出力する光結合器と、
前記励起光源から出力された励起光に遅延時間を与えて前記第1ポートへ出力する遅延用光ファイバと、
前記第2ポートから出力された光を検知する光検知器と、
前記光検知器による検知結果に基づいて、前記光検知器により検知された光のパワーが所定値より大きいときに、前記被増幅光入力ポートへ入力される前記被増幅光または前記遅延用光ファイバに入力される励起光を停止またはその強度を低減するように制御する制御部と
を備え、
前記遅延用光ファイバによる遅延時間は、前記光検知器の検知から前記被増幅光または前記励起光の出力変動までに要する時間より長いことを特徴とする光学モジュール。 - 前記制御部は、前記光検知器により検知された光のパワーが所定値より大きいときに、前記励起光源からの励起光の出力を停止または強度を低減させる
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の光学モジュール。 - 前記励起光源と前記遅延用光ファイバとの間に設けられ光の伝搬をオンまたはオフする光学部品を備え、
前記制御部は、前記光検知器により検知された光のパワーが所定値より大きいときに、前記光学部品における光の伝搬をオフさせる
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の光学モジュール。 - 前記被増幅光を出力する被増幅光源を備え、
前記制御部は、前記光検知器により検知された光のパワーが所定値より大きいときに、被増幅光源からの前記被増幅光の出力を停止または強度を低減させる
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の光学モジュール。 - 前記被増幅光を出力する被増幅光源と、前記被増幅光源の被増幅光を直接変調または前記被増幅光原からの被増幅光を外部変調する変調器とを備え、
前記制御部は、前記光検知器により検知された光のパワーが所定値より大きいときに、前記変調器の変調をオフさせる
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の光学モジュール。 - 前記遅延用光ファイバは、長さが1mを越えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の光学モジュール。
- 前記遅延用光ファイバによる遅延時間は、前記光検知器の検知から前記被増幅光または前記励起光の出力変動までに要する時間が0.1μs以上であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の光学モジュール。
