Abstract
本発明の目的は、光波長多重通信システムに用いられる光増幅器において、緩和時間に対応した制御が可能な光増幅器を提供することである。 上記の目的を解決するため、光増幅器は、入力した光を検出する検出部と、該入力した光の分散を変える分散補償器と、希土類元素が含まれる光増幅媒体に励起光を加えることで、該分散補償器からの光を誘導放出により光増幅する光増幅部と、該検出部と該光増幅部間の光の伝播遅延時間を検出する伝播遅延検出部と、該伝播遅延時間に基づいて該光増幅部の利得を制御する制御部とを備える。
