Abstract

 光伝送システムの中継局に備えられて信号光を増幅すると共に、VOA4により出力パワーのALCを実行する光増幅装置として、上流の光増幅装置の出力目標値及び出力測定値の差分を制御予定量として受信し、ALCのためにVOA4に対し設定している現在の減衰量目標値と、自身の出力目標値及び出力測定値の差分と、前記制御予定量と、に基づいて、VOA4に対する減衰量目標値を更新するようになっていると共に、該減衰量目標値の更新を、ALCによる出力収束時間以上の間隔で実行し、そして、自身の出力目標値及び出力測定値の差分を下流への制御予定量とすることを特徴とした光増幅装置を提案する。これにより、各局でALCを実行する光伝送システムにおいて、波長増減設及び信号立ち上げ時にかかるALCの安定化待ち時間を短縮し、AGCからALCへ遷移するときの信号光パワーのレベル変動を抑制する。
