Description
dps=(dp90−dp10)/dp50
であり、dp10、dp50およびdp90は、上述したようなものである。さらに別の実施の形態によれば、dps≦0.85、またはさらにはdps≦0.80であるより狭い粒径分布が提供される。それに加え、細孔形成剤は単一モードであることが好ましく、デンプンであることがより好ましい。デンプンの細孔形成剤が、カンナデンプン、サゴヤシデンプン、マングビーンデンプン、および単一モードのバレイショデンプンからなる群より選択されることがさらにより好ましい。そのようなデンプンにより、製造される多孔質セラミックハニカム物品において、狭い細孔径分布および/または少量の小さな細孔が可能になる。細孔形成剤は、好ましくは無機材料源の5〜30質量%の間の量、より好ましくは5〜15質量%の間の量で含まれる。
dps=(dp90−dp10)/dp50
により定義される。再度、dp10、dp50およびdp90は、先に定義されたようなものである。次いで、可塑化バッチを、押出法などにより、ハニカム物品に形成する。
ΔPc%={(P被覆−P未被覆)/P未被覆}×100
のように定義される。本発明のこの態様を用いて、例えば、100%未満のウォッシュコート圧力増加ΔPc%を持つ多孔質ウォッシュコートセラミックフィルタを製造することが好ましい。それゆえ、減少したウォッシュコート圧力増加の利点を達成するために、フィルタの多孔質壁は、精密に制御されたd1を有する細孔径分布を有するべきである。

Claims (11)
- d 1 ≧7.0μmを満たす細孔径分布を持つ多くの細孔を有する酸化物系セラミック材料から構成される多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタであって、
ここで、d1 は、前記細孔径分布の総細孔体積の1.0%がそれより小さな直径を有する細孔径であり、
d 10 ≧10μm、
15から30μmの範囲のd 50 、および
d 90 ≦45μm、
をさらに満たし、
ここで、d 10 は、前記細孔体積の10%がそれより小さな細孔径を有している細孔径であり、d 50 は、前記細孔体積の50%がそれより小さな細孔径を有しているメジアン細孔径であり、d 90 は、前記細孔体積の90%がそれより小さな細孔径を有している細孔径である、
多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。 - 前記酸化物系セラミック材料が、コージエライトおよびチタン酸アルミニウムからなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。
- d1≧8.0μmであることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。
- 前記酸化物系セラミック材料がコージエライトを有し、
df≦0.38を満たし、
ここで、df=(d50−d10)/d50
であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。 - df≦0.25であることを特徴とする請求項4記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。
- 前記酸化物系セラミック材料がコージエライトを有し、
db≦1.00を満たし、
ここで、db=(d90−d10)/d50
であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。 - db≦0.75であることを特徴とする請求項6記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。
- 5.0×10-7/℃以下の熱膨張係数(22〜800℃)を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。
- d1≧8.0μm、および
P<55%である気孔率(P)、
を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。 - 前記細孔が、少なくともある程度、細孔形成剤を燃やし尽くすことにより形成され、該細孔形成剤が単一モードのデンプンであることを特徴とする請求項1から9いずれか1項記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。
- 前記細孔形成剤が、カンナデンプン、サゴヤシデンプン、マングビーンデンプン、および単一モードのバレイショデンプンからなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項10記載の多孔質セラミックハニカムフィルタ。
