Description
さらに、フィルタエレメント固着用工具に係る発明は、フィルタエレメントの板状部をケーシングの台座に加熱固着するために用いられる工具であって、先端面に、押圧突部と、環状空間を介して押圧突部の外周に位置する環状リブとを形成し、押圧突部を環状リブの先端よりも突出させたことを特徴としている。
以下に、この発明の第1実施形態を、図1〜図5に基づいて説明する。この第1実施形態は、フィルタ装置をエンジンの吸気系に組み込んだものである。
図2(a)(b)に示すように、前記第2フィルタエレメント16には、その厚さ方向の中央部に燃料蒸気を吸着するための粒状活性炭よりなる吸着材17が設けられている。その吸着材17は一対の第1補強ネット19間に挟持されて、図示しないバインダにより固着されている。この第1補強ネット19は、高強度及び耐熱性を備えた材料,例えばグラスファイバや金属により形成され、実施形態ではグラスファイバが用いられる。この両第1補強ネット19は、一対の不織布よりなる保持シート20により挟持されている。この保持シート20はPET(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)により構成されている。さらに、この保持シート20はバックファイアの炎や圧力から第2フィルタエレメント16を保護するための耐熱性を有する一対の外側の第2補強ネット21により挟持されている。この第2補強ネット21はPP(ポリプロピレン)により構成されている。
(1) フィルタエレメント16の外周縁に樹脂枠を設けたり、その樹脂枠に複数の取付孔を貫通状態で形成したりする必要がないため、フィルタエレメントの加工、つまり製造を容易に行うことができる。
(3) 突起23は、溶融された状態においてフィルタエレメント16の板状部16aに一体化し、その状態で固化されているため、突起23を介して台座15とフィルタエレメント16の板状部16aとが一体化される。しかも、突起23は、盛り上がって、板状部16aの第1補強ネット19をその上面側から押さえ込む。従って、台座15に対するフィルタエレメント16の固着強度を向上させることができる。
次に、この発明の第2実施形態を説明する。なお、この第2実施形態以降の各実施形態の説明においては、前記第1実施形態と異なる部分を中心に説明する。
次に、この発明の第3実施形態を説明する。
この第3実施形態においては、図7に示すように、第2ケーシング部材13の内周面において台座15が環状をなしている。そして、板状部16aの圧着部22が平面長四角状に形成されるとともに、その圧着部22の周囲の突起23が四角環状に形成されている。
次に、この発明の第4実施形態を説明する。
この第4実施形態においては、図8に示すように、ケーシング11の第1,第2ケーシング部材12,13(第1ケーシング部材12は図示していない)の側壁の内側面に剛性を確保するための補強リブ30がエアの流れる方向に延長されるように設けられている。そして、フィルタエレメント16の板状部16aが前記補強リブ30上に設置され、その板状部16aが固着用工具25により加熱状態で押圧されて、前記各実施形態と同様に圧着部22及び突起23が形成される。従って、この第4実施形態においては、補強リブ30が第2フィルタエレメント16を取付けるための台座の機能を兼備する。
次に、この発明の第5実施形態を説明する。
この第5実施形態においては、図9に示すように、フィルタエレメント固着用工具25の押圧突部26の先端面に円錐状の傾斜面26aが形成されている。従って、圧着部22の周囲の盛り上がり部が押圧突部26の先端の傾斜面26aに沿って移動されて、環状空間27内へ円滑に収容されるようになっている。
なお、この実施形態は、次のように変更して具体化することも可能である。
・ 図10に示すように、第2ケーシング部材13の内面を台座とすること。すなわち、複数の第2フィルタエレメント16を、第1フィルタエレメント14の下流側において第2ケーシング部材13の内面の頂部及び側部に直接に固着すること。従って、前記突起23は第2ケーシング部材13の内面に形成される。このように構成した場合には、第2ケーシング部材13内に台座15を特別に形成する必要がなく、第2フィルタエレメント16の取付構成が簡単になる。また、第2フィルタエレメント16がエア流路と交差することなく配置されているため、エア流に対する圧力損失を低減できる。
・ 前記各実施形態では、ヒータ29の熱により第2フィルタエレメント16の板状部16aを第2ケーシング部材13内の台座15に固着するようにしているが、超音波溶着、レーザ溶着、インパルス溶着等の他の固着方法を用いてもよい。
Claims (7)
- ケーシング内の台座上に、シート状をなすフィルタエレメントを設置したフィルタ装置において、
前記フィルタエレメントの少なくとも外周縁に板状部を一体形成し、
前記板状部には前記台座に対して圧着状態に維持された圧着部を形成し、
前記圧着部に対応する台座の部分が前記板状部の圧着部に相当する部分とともに溶融して一体化し、前記圧着部の周囲における前記台座には前記板状部を透過して盛り上がった突起を一体形成し、
前記突起は、前記板状部における前記台座とは反対側の面を押さえ込むように形成され、
前記板状部は、前記突起が固化するとともに前記圧着部が固化することによって前記台座に固着されたことを特徴とするフィルタ装置。 - 前記圧着部は前記板状部が前記台座に対して加熱状態で押圧されることによって形成されたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のフィルタ装置。
- 前記突起は、前記板状部が加熱状態で押圧されることによって台座の一部が板状部とともに溶融され、その状態で固化されることにより板状部に一体化されたものであることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のフィルタ装置。
- 前記板状部は、第1の補強ネット、保持シート及び第2の補強ネットを備え、
前記第1の補強ネットは、耐熱性の補強ネットであり、前記板状部が前記台座へ固着されるときに前記圧着部及び突起の部分に非溶融状態で、かつ、前記圧着部を跨ぐように残留して配置されることを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載のフィルタ装置。 - 請求項1〜3のうちのいずれか一項に記載のフィルタ装置の製造方法であって、
前記フィルタエレメントの板状部をケーシングの台座に対して加熱しながら押圧することにより、その板状部に前記台座に固着された圧着部を形成するとともに、その圧着部の周囲に前記板状部を透過して盛り上がった突起を形成し、その突起において台座に前記板状部を固着させたことを特徴とするフィルタ装置の製造方法。 - 請求項1〜4のうちのいずれか一項に記載のフィルタ装置において、フィルタエレメントをケーシングの台座に加熱固着するために用いられる工具であって、
先端面に、押圧突部と、環状空間を介して押圧突部の外周に位置する環状リブとを形成し、押圧突部を環状リブの先端よりも突出させたことを特徴とするフィルタエレメント固着用工具。 - 前記環状空間の容積が、前記押圧突部の環状リブ先端から突出した部分の体積よりも大きくなるように形成されたことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のフィルタエレメント固着用工具。
