Description
(a)粒状重合体をパージ容器に供給し、状況に応じて容器を通過して実質的にプラグ流れ方式にてそれを移動させ、
(b)パージ容器中の粒状重合体を30℃以上であって、但し粒子を凝集させるには不十分な高さの温度に加熱し、及び/又は重合体をパージ容器中にてこの範囲の温度に維持し、
(c)空気をパージ容器に粒状重合体の動きと逆流して供給し、揮発性物質をそこから除去し、
(d)粒状重合体をパージ容器から除去する
ことからなる方法を提供するものである。粒状重合体が容器を通過するとき、軸方向の混合がほとんどない又は全くないといった状態で、該当する容器を通過する粒状重合体の流れが起こり、従って、粒子の滞留時間が実質的に一定であることを確保することを、本明細書の全体にわたって、「プラグ流れ方式」は意味している。時には「プラグ流れ」は、特に考慮中の流れが固体粒状物質の動きである「質量流」として技術的に見なされる。
(a)予備加熱容器中の粒状重合体を30℃以上であって、但し粒子を凝集させるには不十分な高さの温度に予備加熱し、
(b)粒状重合体をパージ容器に供給し、パージ容器を通過して実質的にプラグ流れ方式にてそれを移動させ、
(c)パージ容器中の粒状重合体を30℃以上であって、但し粒子を凝集させるには不十分な高さの温度に維持し、
(d)空気をパージ容器に粒状重合体の動きと逆流して供給し、揮発性物質をそこから除去し、
(e)粒状重合体をパージ容器から除去する
ことからなる方法を提供するものである。
(a)粒状重合体をパージ容器に供給し、必要に応じて容器を通過させて実質的にプラグ流れ方式にて移動させ、
(b)パージ容器中の粒状重合体を30℃以上であって、但し粒子を凝集させるには不十分な高さの温度に加熱し、及び/又はパージ容器中の重合体をこの範囲の温度に維持し、
(c)空気をパージ容器に粒状重合体の動きと逆流して供給し、揮発性物質をそこから除去し、
(d)粒状重合体をパージ容器から冷却容器へ移送し、ここにおいて粒状重合体が冷却域を通過して移動させ、所望の温度に冷却し、そして、
(e)粒状重合体を冷却容器から除去する
ことからなる方法を提供するものである。
Claims (13)
- 粒状重合体からの揮発性物質の分離方法であって、
該粒状重合体は、不活性ガスを使用する先立つ分離ステップにおいて実質的に未反応単量体が除去されており、
(a)該粒状重合体をパージ容器に供給し、状況に応じて容器を通過して実質的にプラグ流れ方式にてそれを移動させ、
(b)パージ容器中の該粒状重合体を30℃以上であって、但し粒子を凝集させるには不十分な高さの温度に加熱し、及び/又は該粒状重合体をパージ容器中にてこの範囲の温度に維持し、
(c)空気をパージ容器に該粒状重合体の動きと逆流して供給し、揮発性物質を該粒状重合体から除去し、
(d)該粒状重合体をパージ容器から取り出す
ことからなり、
パージ容器に供給される該粒状重合体に存在する(水を除く)揮発性物質の量が、500ppm以下であることを特徴とする
粒状重合体からの揮発性物質の分離方法。 - 粒状重合体がパージ容器に入る前に予備加熱される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 重合体がポリオレフィンである、請求項1記載の方法。
- ポリオレフィンが気相、液相、固体相又は高圧工程において調整されている、請求項3記載の方法。
- ポリオレフィンがポリエチレンである、請求項4記載の方法。
- 粒状重合体がパージ容器中にてビカー軟化温度の5℃以下の温度に加熱され、及び/又はパージ容器にてこの範囲の温度に維持される、請求項1記載の方法。
- パージ容器を出たパージガス流中に存在する揮発性物のレベルが通常ガスのリットルに対し5ミリグラム以下である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 粒状重合体がパージ容器から冷却容器へ移送される、請求項1記載の方法。
- パージ容器へ供給された粒状重合体が容器を通過して実質的にプラグ流れ方式にて移動する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 滞留時間の標準偏差がパージ容器中の粒状重合体の平均滞留時間の50%以下である、請求項9記載の方法。
- パージ容器中の粒状重合体の滞留時間が6乃至10時間の範囲にある、請求項9記載の方法。
- 等進渦線スクリュー装置を用いて又は重力の影響を受けて粒状重合体がパージ容器を通過して移動される、請求項9記載の方法。
- パージ容器の底部から固体を連続的に除去するのに応じて粒状重合体が重力の影響を受けて移動する、請求項12記載の方法。
