(上記の構成において、陽極として機能する電極が左側に接続され、陰極として機能する電極が右側に接続される)
TAZのようなトリアゾール誘導体;トリアジン誘導体;フェニルキノキサリン類;BMB−2T、BMB−3Tのようなチオフェン誘導体;Alq3のようなアルミニウム錯体などを用いることができる。
10mm角のパッシブマトリクス駆動可変表示部と2mm角のスタティック駆動緑色発光セグメント表示部とを有する有機ELパネルを作製した。サブピクセルのサイズを100μm×300μmとし、フィルファクターを70%とした。ガラス基板10上の色変調部以外の部分にブラックマスク30を形成した。次に、可変表示部およびセグメント表示部の両方に、色変調部20B、20G、20Rを形成した。赤色および緑色変調部20Rおよび20Gは、カラーフィルタ層と色変換層との積層構造とし、青色変調部20Bは、カラーフィルタ層のみから構成した。次に、平坦化層40およびパッシベーション層50を順次形成した。
セグメント表示部に青および赤色変調部20Bおよび20Rを形成せず、2mm角の緑色変調部20Gのみを形成したことを除いて、実施例1の手順を繰り返して有機ELパネルを得た。
実施例1および比較例1で得られた有機ELパネルについて、セグメント表示部の明暗時のコントラスト比を比較した。1000luxの白色光を照射した状態で、暗時および明時のパネル表面の輝度を測定し、コントラスト比を算出した。実施例1の有機ELパネルのセグメント表示部のコントラスト比が100:1であったのに対して、比較例1のセグメント表示部のコントラスト比は2:1であり、ほとんどコントラストを取ることができなかった。
Claims (6)
- 基板と、基板上に設けられたセグメント表示部とを含む有機ELパネルにおいて、
該セグメント表示部は、有機EL発光部と、複数種の色変調部とを含み、
前記有機EL発光部は、単一の反射電極、有機EL層、複数の開口部を有する透明かつ絶縁性のシャドーマスク、および単一の透明電極を含み、
前記複数種の色変調部は前記基板に隣接して設けられており、かつ前記複数種の色変調部のそれぞれは、複数の部分に分割されていることを特徴とする有機ELパネル。 - 前記複数種の色変調部のそれぞれは、カラーフィルタ層、またはカラーフィルタ層と色変換層との積層構造で構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機ELパネル。
- 前記シャドーマスクの複数の開口部の配設位置および配設数によって、前記セグメント表示部の発光色が制御されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機ELパネル。
- 複数の部分からなる第2の反射電極、第2の有機発光層、および複数の部分からなる第2の透明電極を少なくとも含む可変表示部をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機ELパネル。
- 前記複数種の色変調部は、白色光を放射することが可能な種類および比率で設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機ELパネル。
- 前記複数種の色変調部は、赤色変調部、緑色変調部および青色変調部から構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の有機ELパネル。
