Description
(1)ピンの各部位(雄ねじ部、メタルシール部、ショルダー部)とボックスの各部位(雌ねじ部、メタルシール部、ショルダー部)との接触部位に介在する潤滑剤の厚みは、これら各部位の締結状態に応じて局部的に変化する。具体的には、健全なねじ継手であってピンの各部位とボックスの各部位とが互いに密着した状態(例えば、メタルシール部12の外径がメタルシール部22の内径よりも僅かに大きい状態)では、非密着状態(例えば、メタルシール部12の外径がメタルシール部22の内径よりも小さい状態)と異なり局部的に潤滑剤が介在しなくなる。
(2)介在する潤滑剤の有無に応じて超音波のエコー強度は変化する。具体的には、潤滑剤が実質的に介在しない箇所に送信した超音波のエコー強度は、潤滑剤が介在する箇所に送信した超音波のエコー強度よりも小さくなる。
(3)健全なねじ継手であってピンの各部位とボックスの各部位とが密着した状態であれば潤滑剤が実質的に介在しない箇所(超音波のエコー強度が小さくなる箇所)に、欠陥や焼き付きが存在すると、これらが存在しない場合に比べて超音波のエコー強度が大きくなる。
(4)ボックスに存在する欠陥からのエコー、或いは、ボックスとピンとの焼き付き箇所からのエコーの受信時間(超音波を発信してから受信するまでの時間)は、健全な密着状態のねじ継手からのエコー、非密着状態のねじ継手からのエコー、或いは、ピンに存在する欠陥からのエコーの受信時間に比べて短くなる。
まず最初に、本発明に想到するに至る過程において本発明の発明者らが得た知見について詳細に説明する。
図6、図7に示すように、本具体例の超音波探傷装置200は、ねじ継手100の軸方向に沿って超音波を走査するための超音波走査装置3と、超音波走査装置3が具備する超音波探触子31、32、33からの超音波の送受信を制御等するための超音波探傷器4と、超音波走査装置3が具備するモータ35を駆動するためのモータドライバ5と、ねじ継手100の周方向に沿って超音波走査装置3を走査する又はねじ継手100を周方向に回転させるための回転装置6と、超音波探傷器4、モータドライバ5及び回転装置6を制御するための制御装置7と、超音波の接触媒質としての水を供給する給水器8とを備える。

Claims (2)
- 外周面に雄ねじ部、メタルシール部及びショルダー部を具備するピンと、
内周面に前記ピンの前記各部位に対応する雌ねじ部、メタルシール部及びショルダー部を具備し、前記ピンと潤滑剤を介して締結されるボックスとを備えた管のねじ継手の超音波探傷方法であって、
超音波探触子を前記ねじ継手の軸方向に相対的に移動させることにより、又は複数の振動子を一列に配列したアレイ型超音波探触子の各振動子による超音波の送受信を電気的に制御することにより、前記ボックスの雌ねじ部、メタルシール部及びショルダー部の内、少なくとも1つの部位について、前記ねじ継手の軸方向に沿った複数の箇所に超音波を送受信し、前記複数箇所について検出したエコー強度の軸方向分布及びエコーの受信時間の軸方向分布に基づき、前記ねじ継手に存在する不良部を検出することを特徴とする管のねじ継手の超音波探傷方法。 - 前記エコー強度の軸方向分布に基づいて前記ねじ継手に不良部が存在するか否かを判定し、不良部が存在すると判定した場合には前記エコーの受信時間の軸方向分布に基づいて前記不良部の種類を識別することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の管のねじ継手の超音波探傷方法。
