Description
前記条件は、図7に示すコヒーレンス長lcとスペックルコントラストCsとの関係を考慮して設定したものであって、lc値が(6)式の上限を超える場合、スペックルコントラストCs値が0.25を超えて、スクリーンにスペックルが大きく表示されるという問題点がある。
これは、(1)式のコヒーレンス長lcがキャビティ長dに比例する点を考慮したものであって、(7)式の範囲に制限することによって、可干渉性が維持される距離であるコヒーレンス長lcを短縮させうる。また、(7)式の範囲にキャビティ長dの値を限定する場合には、有効反射率Rが0.3を超える場合においても、スペックルコントラスト比を20%の範囲内に管理できる。
これは、キャビティ長650μmで、スペックルコントラストCsが0.25以下の値を有させるためであり、このように有効反射率を設定した場合、有効反射率90.5%を有する半導体レーザのスペックルコントラストCs値である0.422に比べて大きく下げうるので、スペックルの発生を抑制できる。
(9)式の範囲に有効反射率を維持する場合、半導体レーザ10の基本的な共振構造を構成しつつも、スペックルコントラストCs値を0.2以下にして、スペックルをさらに抑制できる。

Claims (2)
- キャビティ長だけ離隔配置されて共振器を構成する第1ミラー及び第2ミラーを備える半導体レーザと、
前記半導体レーザの前記第1ミラーを透過して照射された光を変調して、スクリーンに映像を提供する空間変調器と、を備え、
前記半導体レーザのコヒーレンス長lc及び有効反射率Rのそれぞれが下記(1)及び(2)式で定義されるとき、前記コヒーレンス長lcが、0<lc≦0.85(cm)、かつ、前記キャビティ長dが、400≦d≦1000(μm)を満たし、前記有効反射率Rが0.3を超えることを特徴とするレーザディスプレイ装置。
- 前記半導体レーザは、
400nmないし700nm波長領域の可視光線光を照射することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレーザディスプレイ装置。
