Description
また、このダイヤモンドチップと同様の形状のものとして、バイトノーズ部にアールをつけて曲線状にし、負のすくい角となるようにすくい面を形成した単結晶バイトで、すくい面が直円錐の円錐面の一部をなすように形成されているものがある。(例えば、特許文献2参照)
さらに、ハイシリコンアルミニウムやニレジスト鋳鉄などの延性難削材を切削加工するために図5に示すような単結晶ダイヤモンドで形成された刃部のすくい面がすくい角を−25〜−60°のネガ角になるよう工具本体に固定されたダイヤモンドバイト(例えば、特許文献3参照)や、ZnSeレンズなど結晶材料の超精密切削加工方法として、図6に示すようなすくい角が−20〜20度、逃げ角が5〜10度で、刃先の欠損を防止するために切れ刃エッジが0.5〜2μmの幅で面取りされている単結晶ダイヤモンドバイトを用いて1本のバイトで粗加工から仕上げ加工までを行う方法がある。(例えば、特許文献4参照)
前記切れ刃稜のうち、少なくとも切れ刃として作用する部分はすくい面となる第1の円錐状の面と逃げ面となる第2の円錐状の面が交差することにより一定のRで形成され、前記切れ刃稜の丸みは半径100nm未満で、前記第1の円錐状の面の幅は1〜5μmとする。そして、前記第1の円錐状の面の前記切れ刃稜線と反対側の部分には切削方向と略垂直方向の切屑逃がし面が設けられたことである。
このような形状にすることで、R形状の切れ刃の作用位置が変わっても実効すくい角が変わらず、安定した加工面粗さになり、高精度な加工面が得られるとともに、切れ刃の位置の制御が容易になる。また、すくい面を円錐状の面とすることで、一定のRの切れ刃にすることができる。
なお、本願ですくい面3の幅は、図1(c)に示すように、すくい面3と逃げ面4とが交差する点Xからすくい面3と切屑逃がし面6とが交差する点Yまでの距離Lとする。

Claims (3)
- 先端にR形状の単結晶ダイヤモンドからなる切れ刃稜を有する単結晶ダイヤモンドチップを設けたダイヤモンド切削工具であって、
前記切れ刃稜のうち、少なくとも切れ刃として作用する部分はすくい面となる第1の円錐状の面と逃げ面となる第2の円錐状の面が交差することにより一定のRで形成され、前記切れ刃稜の丸みは半径100nm未満、前記第1の円錐状の面の幅は1〜5μm、前記第1の円錐状の面のすくい角は、ネガ角でその角度は15〜50°であり、前記第1の円錐状の面の前記切れ刃稜線と反対側の部分には切削方向と略垂直方向の切屑逃がし面が設けられ、前記第1の円錐状の面と前記切屑逃がし面との交差部をR面とし、前記第1の円錐状の面内で切屑が生成されるように用いられることを特徴とするSi、Ge、CaF 2 のうちのいずれかの結晶材料または硬脆材料の超精密切削加工用単結晶ダイヤモンド工具。 - 前記R面の半径は、0.1〜1.0μmであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の単結晶ダイヤモンド工具。
- 2軸制御旋盤による切削加工に用いられることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の単結晶ダイヤモンド工具。
