Description
前記予備成形体14が、膨張黒鉛に繊維質充填材が加えられて成る原料を用いての抄造によって得られる第1シート14Aの一対の間に、黒鉛に熱硬化性樹脂を塗して成る第2シート14Bが介装されて成るサンドイッチ構造に構成されていることを特徴とするものである。
まず最初に、本発明のセパレータを備えた固体高分子電解質型燃料電池の構成及び動作について、図1〜図3を参照して簡単に説明する。固体高分子電解質型燃料電池Eは、例えばフッ素系樹脂より形成されたイオン交換膜である電解質膜1と、炭素繊維糸で織成したカーボンクロスやカーボンペーパーあるいはカーボンフェルトにより形成され、上記電解質膜1を両側から挟みサンドイッチ構造をなすガス拡散電極となるアノード2及びカソード3と、そのサンドイッチ構造をさらに両側から挟むセパレータ4,4とから構成される単セル5の複数組を積層し、その両端に図示省略した集電板を配置したスタック構造に構成されている。

Claims (12)
- 板状に形成された予備成形体を、成形型を用いてプレス成形することによって作成される燃料電池用セパレータであって、
前記予備成形体が、膨張黒鉛に繊維質充填材が加えられて成る原料を用いての抄造によって得られる第1シートの一対の間に、黒鉛に熱硬化性樹脂を塗して成る第2シートが介装されて成るサンドイッチ構造に構成されている燃料電池用セパレータ。 - 前記第1シートは、前記抄造後において含浸される熱硬化性樹脂を有している請求項1に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 前記第1シートに用いられる前記熱硬化性樹脂がフェノール樹脂である請求項2に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 前記フェノール樹脂の含浸率が5〜30%の範囲に設定されている請求項3に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 前記第1シートに用いられる膨張黒鉛の材料比率が60〜90%に設定されている請求項2〜4のうちの何れか一項に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 前記フェノール樹脂には黒鉛が含有されている請求項3〜5の何れか一項に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
- フェノール樹脂の含浸後において塗される黒鉛を有する請求項3〜5の何れか一項に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 前記繊維質充填材は、炭素繊維或いはアクリル繊維を有するものである請求項1〜7の何れか一項に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 前記第2シートに用いられる前記熱硬化性樹脂がフェノール樹脂である請求項1〜8の何れか一項に記載の燃料電池用セパレータ。
- 板状に形成された予備成形体を、成形型を用いてプレス成形する二次成形工程を有する燃料電池用セパレータの製造方法であって、
前記予備成形体を、膨張黒鉛に繊維質充填材が加えられて成る原料を用いて抄造する抄造工程と、前記抄造工程によって得られる第1シートの一対を、これらの間に黒鉛に熱硬化性樹脂を塗して成る第2シートを介装して積層する積層工程と、を有する一次工程によって作成する燃料電池用セパレータの製造方法。 - 前記一次工程は、前記抄造工程によって抄造されたシート状体にフェノール樹脂を含浸させて前記第1シートを作成する後含浸工程を有している請求項10に記載の燃料電池用セパレータの製造方法。
- 前記第2シートを作成するための前記熱硬化性樹脂としてフェノール樹脂を用いる請求項10又は11に記載の燃料電池用セパレータの製造方法。
