Description
Claims (6)
- 放射ビーム(20)を遮断し、機械に用いられる物体(50)を検出するための測定装置(5)であって、
放射ビーム(20)を発するための放射発光体を有する発光体(12)と、
放射ビーム(20)を検出するための放射検出器を有する検出器(32)とを具え、
前記発光体または検出器の少なくとも一方は、前記検出器に達する放射ビームの量を制限する放射ビーム絞り(14)を有し、この放射絞りは、前記検出器に達する放射ビームの量を変更するために調整可能であり、
前記放射ビーム絞りは、前記発光体および/または検出器にそれぞれ嵌合可能な複数のキャップ(14)を具え、これらキャップは空気が通過する細長い開口(11)をそれぞれ有し、前記開口は、それぞれ前記放射ビームに対し角度(θ)だけ傾斜して前記検出器に達する種々の量の放射ビームを通すことを可能にし、
前記キャップの開口は、当該キャップを通過した後の放射ビームがほぼ円形の断面を有するように形成されていることを特徴とする装置。 - それぞれのキャップを通過可能な種々の放射ビームの量は、前記発光体と検出器との間の放射ビームの伝搬距離により決定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記発光体および検出器は、少なくとも一方のハウジング(10,30)に収容され、この一方またはそれぞれのハウジングは、使用中に前記ハウジング外の圧力よりも大きな圧力に加圧される内部キャビティ(38)を有し、前記開口は前記キャビティと流体連通状態にあり、流体流動が前記キャビティから前記開口を介して前記ハウジングの外へともたらされるようになっていることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の装置。
- 放射ビーム(20)を遮断する物体(50)を検出するために放射ビーム発光体(10)と放射ビーム検出器とを有する装置(5)内に与えられた放射ビームの量を調整する方法であって、前記発光体(10)および検出器(30)の少なくとも一方は、前記検出器に達する放射ビームの量を制限する放射ビーム絞り(14)を有し、前記発光体から前記検出器までの放射ビームの伝搬距離に応じて前記絞りを通過可能な放射ビームの量を調整するステップを具えた方法において、キャップ(14)の形態の適切な放射絞りを複数のキャップから選択するステップを具え、前記キャップのそれぞれは、異なる量の放射ビームの通過を可能にする大きさの異なる細長い開口(11)を有し、空気が前記開口(11)を通って流れると共に前記開口のそれぞれが前記放射ビーム(20)に対し角度(θ)だけ傾斜し、選択されたキャップの開口は適切な量の放射ビームがここを通ってほぼ円形の断面を持った形態で伝搬されることを可能にすることを特徴とする方法。
- 前記放射ビーム検出器に対して間隔を置かれた放射ビーム発光体を位置決めするステップをさらに具えていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記放射ビームが光であることを特徴とする請求項4または請求項5に記載の方法。
