Description
本発明は、一般的にガイドワイヤおよびそれらの製造方法に関する。詳細には、本発明は、中実コアから作製され、コイルによって取り囲まれるガイドワイヤに関する。当業者は、本明細書には記載されていない類似の分野に本発明を適用する利点を認識する。
ガイドワイヤは、血管内、胃腸管、および泌尿器を含む種々の医療用用途に使用される。通常の血管用途は、経皮経腔的冠状血管形成(Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty)(PTCA)である。この手順は、鼡径部近くの大腿動脈の切開を通してガイドワイヤを挿入する工程、大動脈弓を越えて、冠状動脈に、心臓の処置される病巣を横切ってガイドワイヤを進ませる工程を包含する。同様に、解剖学的構造に他の部分で実行される血管形成は、経皮経腔的血管形成(PTA)と呼ばれ、ガイドワイヤの使用をまた含み得る。典型的な血管ガイドワイヤは、用途に依存して、50cmまたは300cmの長さで、0.010〜0.038インチの直径である。

(項目7) 前記第2の材料がステンレス鋼を含む、項目1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
(項目8) 前記第2の材料が析出硬化合金を含む、項目1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
(項目9) 項目1に記載のガイドワイヤであって、以下;
前記コアワイヤの遠位部分を取り囲むポリマー先端
をさらに備える、ガイドワイヤ。
(項目10) 項目9に記載のガイドワイヤであって、ここで、前記ポリマー先端が、放射不透過フィルターを備え、これによって、該ガイドワイヤの遠位先端が透視下で容易に可視化し得る、ガイドワイヤ。
(項目11) 前記コイルが単一のストランドのワイヤを含む、項目1に記載のガイドワイヤ。
(項目12) 前記コイルが多繊維ストランドを含む、項目1に記載のガイドワイヤ。

(項目21) しなやかな先端のガイドワイヤであって、該ガイドワイヤは、以下;
コア;
該コアの少なくとも遠位部分を取り囲むコイルであって、該コイルの遠位端部が該コアの該遠位部分の遠位に伸長する、コイル;
該コイルの該遠位端部に結合される先端;および
該コアの該遠位部分を該先端に結合するポリマー性安全リボン、
を備える、ガイドワイヤ。
本発明は、耐よじれ性、超弾性ワイヤのワイヤ運動、押込み能力、コアワイヤを覆うコイルのトルク伝達性を有するコアガイドワイヤを覆うコイルを提供することによって、先行技術の欠点を克服する。ガイドワイヤは、テーパー状の遠位先端を備えるニッケル−チタン合金コアを有する。コアは、超弾性または直線弾性(linear−elastic)であり得る。

Claims (16)
- ガイドワイヤであって、該ガイドワイヤは、以下:
第1の材料から構成され、近位端部および遠位端部を含む細長コア;
外径および内径を有し、第2の材料から構成される一続きの単一のコイルであって、該コイルは該コアの一部分を取り囲み、該コイルの複数のターンによって該コアの該遠位端部を超えて延びる、一続きの単一のコイル;および
該コイルの遠位部分に接触し、該コイルの遠位部分から延びるポリマー先端であって、該先端はポリマー性材料によって該コアにつながり、該ポリマー性材料は、該コイルの内径の内側から該コイルの外径への、該コイルの隣接し合うターンの間にある空間にのみ提供される、ポリマー先端、
を備える、ガイドワイヤ。 - ガイドワイヤであって、該ガイドワイヤは、以下:
第1の材料から構成され、近位端部および遠位端部を含む細長コア;
第2の材料から構成される一続きの単一のコイルであって、該コイルは該コアの一部分を取り囲み、該コイルの複数のターンによって該コアの該遠位端部を超えて延び、該複数の該ターンは、非接触の隣接し合うターンの外径に延びる空間を規定する該非接触の隣接し合うターンを含む、一続きの単一のコイル;および
該コイルの遠位部分に接触し、該コイルの遠位部分から延びるポリマー先端であって、該先端はポリマー性材料によって該コアにつながり、該ポリマー性材料は該コイルの該隣接し合うターンの間にある該空間のみを満たす、ポリマー先端、
を備える、ガイドワイヤ。 - 前記第2の材料がステンレス鋼を含む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記第1の材料がニッケル‐チタン合金を含む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コイルが第1のピッチを有する第1のコイル部分、および該第1のピッチよりも大きい第2のピッチを有する第2のコイル部分を含む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記第2のコイル部分が該コアの遠位に位置する、請求項5に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記第2の材料が析出硬化合金を含む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記先端が放射不透過性材料を含む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コイルが多繊維ワイヤを含む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コイルが矩型の断面を含む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コイルが円形断面を含む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コアの遠位部分がテーパー状である、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コイルが該コイルの全長を取り囲む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コイルがコーティングを含む、請求項1または2に記載のガイドワイヤ。
- 前記コーティングが潤滑性である、請求項14に記載のガイドワイヤ。
